Why? Are Newcastle hugely bigger than us?

It was more the reported £40m per season that their deal is supposedly worth. I just don’t see us selling the sort of shirts that would earn us that sort of deal.

It will be a tiered deal standard 15 million per season.  20 for Conference 25 Europa and 30 for Champions League.

    Sensible from both parties.

Where have you seen that? That looks like a tremendous deal!

CL will have influenced it… but they should envisage us being at that level now or qualifying for it too…

Nothing to suggest that Newcastle will get back there, at least this season, after getting knocked out…

I won’t bother going into Saudi influence and riches/funds…

So yeah… I’m hoping for a comparable deal. And we have Unai Emery…

I’ll be shocked if it’s the same ballpark as Newcastle, in fact I’d be stunned if ours was anymore than £25m per season and I think even that much would be a stretch imo.

99% of fans will be really happy with the brand. It’s a really exciting one

That’s a bold statement, it could be a Nike/Adidas collaboration on £100m a season and I’m sure there would still be plenty of complaints! 😂

  5. I see JJ has been getting a lot of s*** on social media, you have to remember that if Tielemans was fit then Ramsey would probably still be used off the bench right now until he found form. The boy has to be given a pass to a certain extent, the timings of his 2 injuries couldn’t have been worse for him.

  6. I think there has to be some acceptance from us as a fanbase that we’re not going to have real quality players as backups, not just yet anyway. Their wages are too high, and it’s difficult to keep them happy when they’re not playing. How many good players are happy to be on the bench and not earning big money either?

    I’ve heard the same.

I would f***ing love Puma, but only if we go full Cameroon Tank Top with it. @NurembergVillan Do you have any old contacts that you could make any recommendations to?

*All joking aside, I’d be delighted with Puma, nice high profile brand and good quality too.

  8. The miss can happen to anyone. Watch this video, some of the biggest names the PL has seen.

Glad he got another goal today to add to his tally, he’s still roughly on course to get 20 league goals this season, could even end up with as many as 30 in all comps.

  9. I feel like we haven’t even seen close to top form from Diaby yet, yet he has already shown several moments of quality. I think he will be a big player for us in the second half of the season.

We’d be in the same position, possibly with a point or two more with Mings.

So we would’ve drawn against Newcastle and/or Liverpool? Or you saying that we win the Wolves game?

  11. I was hoping with all our injuries, that a few of our players would drop out of their respective squads due to a ‘knock’

I wasn’t expecting that knock to be the Polizia at the door…

Can we comment on his performance today or are the 'haters' still shushed? 😂

Were you going to comment on his assist? Hope you’ll be in the Kamara thread to talk about how s*** he was today also or is he exempt from that as he’s a “baller”? 😂

  13. Good news, the last ‘big’ player who’s contract was getting dangerously close.

I think we’d all agree whether you really rate Ollie or not is that we wouldn’t want him going for a knockdown fee or even worse on a free transfer.

  14. I’ve posted similar before, but now is not the time to be smug over the fact that Ollie has scored a hat-trick today.

Let’s just be glad that he had a really good game, played a big role in a fantastic win and hopefully is on a goalscoring run now.

  15. I think the really important thing is that we find ourselves a deal that benefits the club financially.

With United getting £90m per season, City getting £65m, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all getting £60m, Newcastle rumoured to be getting £40m per season with their new Adidas deal, and Spurs getting £30m per season, you can see where our current £4m per season deal with Castore leaves us quite a way behind.

While I would be delighted with something nearer to the £30m that Spurs get each year, I could see it being somewhere between £10m-£15m. Just my opinion, but while ‘Shirt-Gate’ has provided us with a great opportunity to get out of the deal, I wouldn’t say it puts us in the strongest position from a negotiating position.
