  1. Hi General!

A very good friend of mine is studying sports science, and he would really like the opportunity, if possible, to visit Bodymore Heath to see how our guys do things - training plans, nutrition etc.

I don't know who we would need to get in touch with to arrange this, but if you could be of any assistance it would be really appreciated.

    Many thanks

  2. I've got a feeling that we're going to end up 6th, I don't think that MON will get in the players he wants in this window, and I can see our form suffering for it.

Arsenal have a bit too much quality about them to carry on their recent poor form, and I don't like the way Everton keep picking up 3 points and are lurking dangerously, just behind us.

I see us finishing on about 65-68 points, but as I said earlier, I think it will be 6th place :-(

  3. An idea for an Ashley Young song, based on the Geelong FC club song. Geelong were the premiers in the Aussie Rules AFL last year over here.

    Youtube link

He's Ashley Young, the greatest player of all

He's Ashley Young, he's deadly on the ball

He plays the game as it should be played

    At home or far away!

He skins defenders, from dawn to dark

    Down at Villa Park!

Really like it Thunder, at least it's not just ripping off a song sung by another Premier League club (We're robbing it from Aussie Rules instead!!!)
  4. Hi General, I just thought I would let you see a post from a Manchester United supporter on another forum that I use which shows how NOT to do things.

A true story about the ACS

I was talking to a friend at work today, who has 2 ST's in the Stretford End Tier 2.

Before the Spurs FA Cup game his credit card expired, so United were unable to charge his card for 2 tickets to the Cup game. As he didn't get an e mail he 'phoned the Ticket and Membership Office a few days before the game, only to be told that they'd sold his seats to someone else. He was annoyed about this, as he wanted to go to the game. They told him that he still had to buy tickets, but the only ones still available were in the Exec section, and were £60 each. He refused to pay £120 for 2 tickets, so didn't attend the game.

On the Tuesday following the game he received a text message, saying that if he didn't 'phone the number attached within 2 hours he would lose his ST. He called the number and was told that his ST's wouldn't work for the Portsmouth game the day after, because he was in breach of contract because he hadn't bought Spurs tickets. They told him that he could now buy the Spurs tickets, at the normal price, despite the fact the game had already been played, and unless he did his ST would be cancelled for the remainder of the season. He bought 2 tickets, 3 days after the game was played, for £80.

That is how United treat their 'customers'. And that's why he won't be renewing his 2 ST's next season, and that's why there will be no waiting list . . .

Basically, all United ST holders have to give their credit card details to the club and are charged for any cup tickets that United play at home.

The worst thing is that the person involved is afraid to take it to the media in case his ST gets terminated.

I found this to be absolutely appalling and I will never be travelling to Manchester United for an away fixture again as I refuse to line the pockets of a club that would treat loyal supporters like that.

The only positive that I took from reading that post was that it made me realise how lucky we are to have Randy, yourself and the rest of your team on board who would NEVER treat loyal ST holders in such a disgusting way.

  5. General, I don't know if this has been asked before but I was wondering if the club was going to have any sort of official send-off for Mark Delaney?

I for one feel very sorry for the guy who had his career cut short wearing the Claret and Blue at the relatively young age of 30, and I would like the chance to show my appreciation to him and say a proper goodbye, I'm sure there are many other Villa fans who feel the same.

Maybe you could tie it in with getting Juan Pablo Angel over?

Hope your back is on the mend!!

    Thanks

  6. Hi General, Woody1000 here.

I know that you have probably heard this thousends of times but I just wanted to say how great it is that somebody as busy as yourself takes the time to speak to us fans and give us a platform to voice any feedback, be it good or bad.

There is a lot of talk these days about foreign ownership being bad for football in this country but what Randy, yourself and the rest of the board have done since Randy took over last year have been nothing short of phenomenal and is a fine example to set to any current or perspective owner be they British or foreign!

It's a shame that you are not able to make the game on Sunday but hopefully you will be there in April for the return fixture.

    Thank you

    Woody1000
