Isn’t that what Emery does though, he has history of buying out of form players and bringing them into form. I’m not advocating for Tielemans at all but a link like this doesn’t surprise me because I always expected players that have looked rubbish recently but looked good in the past are sometimes the players Emery goes for.
This. Emery fixes broken toys and makes them good again.

I would be happy with any improvement points-wise on last season’s tally in the league, and would love a cup run (or 3…). The main thing is to be making progress on this season, even if that progress is small.

We’re a 6/10 in the nightclub, trying to go home with some 8/10’s and 9/10’s, it’s going to take some graft, and we are going to get a fair share of no’s, but make no mistake - when all is said and done, we’ll be getting some!

While it wouldn’t quite be swapping one bench for another, surely if he goes to PSG then he’s just going from being a rotation option at Madrid to similar in Paris? Surely he’s at the point of his career where he wants to play every week?

I'm a season ticket holder for the club Aaron started out at over here - St Patrick's Athletic. Good to see him going strongly now, he was always getting great reviews as a young lad and I believe managed to make the move to Villa not long before Brexit came into place and changed the shape of academy football over here. He joined a prestigious group of common players between the clubs that includes the likes of Enda Stevens, Keith Fahey, Kevin Toner, Mikey Drennan...and some guy called Paul McGrath.
Was that Paul McGrath guy any good?

Has been a bit unfortunate with not regaining his place after Young did well post-WC, and then his injury.
I’m willing to give Cash some more time to see if he can improve in the same way others like McGinn, Mings and Konsa have under Emery, before I’d be wanting him to move on. With Young not getting a new deal, there will be a new RB coming in regardless so hopefully it’s someone to challenge for the starting spot and it spurs Matty on.

Would be an awesome start to the summer if we can pull this deal off. I have a feeling that this will be a summer like we have never seen before as far as the quality of footballer that we will be bringing to the club.

Does Cazoo even exist anymore? Didn't they go into administration or similar?? Hardly in a position to hold us to anything if so
Is that not all the more reason to tread very carefully with them? The administrators could take us to court for a breach of contract if it was a means to bring monies in?

He was great today, no question. It’s just a shame he’s on €70m a year.

Wonder will he do a Mings and wear his Luton kit on the way back to Birmingham
Do you know what, it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if I see him at New St tomorrow still in his Luton kit! Best of luck to him!

If Unai wants him, then I want him.
A player I’ve always rated, has perhaps gone a little bit stale at Leicester but still putting out good numbers despite their terrible season.
Could be a bargain to be had here, would definitely be an upgrade on Traore as a wide player.

Lucky for MON none of us had a time machine. If supporters knew that it would be over 10 years before we played in Europe again, I don't think he would have got out off villa park alive after throwing it away like he did.
We played in Europe for 2 seasons after that defeat in Moscow.

Our manager is not going to Anfield to organise a 1-0 loss he isn't Gerrard or Bruce
You weren’t going to miss an opportunity to stick the knife in were you!

Fans. If Spurs lose by a couple of goals in the early kick off, all of a sudden, losing 1 nil isn’t the ‘worst’ result in the world.
Riiight, I’m with you now. I was going to say, I don’t think we have a manager who is happy to go to Anfield and lose, but I think you’re right that some fans will take a narrow defeat if the Spurs game has worked out in our favour.

I’ve got a feeling we may go into the Liverpool game being happy not to lose by more than one goal..
Do you mean the players, or the manager?

It’s official, this is the best season we’ve had since getting back in the Prem and it hasn’t even finished yet. All thanks to Unai, what a guy
Tbf mate, you’re underselling it - it’s our best points haul since 2010!

Gosh i hope the lo celso rumours are not true
Even if it’s a player that Emery wants? Don’t you think he has achieved enough in his 6 months here and more importantly in his managerial career to earn our trust?

£3m + Lo Celso
We’d be lucky if it was a player as good as Lo Celso, more likely to be £3m + Harry Winks!

Does this look genuine?
Probably, especially if someone from the clubs tweets that it isn’t!

Summer Transfer Window 2023
in Villa Talk
Posted
Re Tielemans, I think this is the sort of deal to judge at the end of the window. If he’s one of 3 or 4 incoming then I will be disappointed, but we need to build a squad that may need to play 15-20 games more than last season.
