Considering what has happened to "smaller" clubs with much fewer irregularities they should have the book thrown at them.
Points deduction, relegation, transfer ban and a mahoosive fine.
So they'll probably get a fine which won't even trouble them.
What? Like Bury, Bolton, Derby, Gretna, Rushden and Diamonds etc?
Man City are just Bolton who struck oil…
Dissolve the bastards, and take their verminous fans with them…
Like “The dip” in “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”

Im sorry… am I contractually obliged to gawp at Man City and like them steamrolling the league, blowing everyone out of the water with their vast fortunes which somehow comply with ffp?

Accepting the sale of a senior player because it was a good offer for the club, recalling loan players to get value and have a look at them, not forcing the leadership to pay over the odds to get his own players in or fill the squad.
The contrast with Gerrard is obvious - but even with our most succesful recent Premier League manager (MON) it was all about the personal glory of winning at all costs and **** the club and the long term.
Unai definitely has the power to demand players in - and the board has the money - but the fact that he hasn't forced it augurs well for how he sees this project.
We are in good hands with this man.
Awesome post!!
Big fan of this kind of mentality!
Unai has a plan, he knows what he is doing…
He has my full faith…
The players that have left are either young prospects or those that he clearly didn’t see having a future with us…
The players he has brought in or brought back he obviously wants to work with…
Im glad we have brought Bertie back…
If Emery can get a tune out of him and get him playing for more than 10 minutes a game, he could be just the ticket…
Same with Coutinho… Still got faith that he could turn it around…
Up the Villa!!!

Imagine a multi million pound transfer and a £6m contract securing you and your future being binned because you look at a manager skewiff.
Paul Ince would have been screwed.
Not to worry. Can always sign a mate on 120 bags a week either way.
Imagine trying to sign for Iain Dowie and not looking at him skew whiff

Mings
followed by Tammy and El Ghazi. Robbie Keane honourable mention
Do you know what?
Even though I know full well El Ghazi and Mings were loans… and in retrospect you’re right… I completely forgot they were loans simply because they signed permanently the summer we got promoted…
But yeah… all of those (aside from Robbie Keane IMO) were better loans than Carbone

Happy for the Geordies…
I have a couple of Mag fans and although there are a lot of them with a stick up their arse over the Sob on the Tyne malarkey, they are a huge club… Their fans have yearned for success for decades…
Frankly, if they knock Man City off their perch, im happy…

I feel like his support role on the Large Hadron Collider is an often underrated part of his game.
To be fair, he doesn’t get given enough credit for correcting the spelling mistake that they originally made when naming that one…

You have some very odd criteria for judging football players mate. I didn't like him cos he was not of the standard required to play for us at the level we are trying to reach. His display against Stevanage was proof of that.
But crack on if you want to judge players on ridiculous criteria. i judge them on performances.*
*(Unless you were being unnecessarily sarcastic of course)
Of course I was being sarcastic…

What a load of absolute garbage this is.
What has he done, exactly, as a stop gap loan that has offended you so deeply?
Didn’t score against Wolves…
Didnt find the Higgs Boson…
Didnt bring peace to the Middle East…

It would be really funny if they were though wouldn’t it?

Leaves after 4 appearances which puts him in the same company as Gilles De Bilde, Danny Drinkwater, Scott Murray, Kevin Toner, Franz Carr, Michael Bradley, Stephen Cook & Simon Dawkins.
Who is the best loan signing we have ever had in your opinion?
Got to be Benito Carbone hasnt it?- 1

I'm sure there is still a decent player in there somewhere, but it doesn't seem like he wants to do it for us anymore...
I have faith in Emery to get the best out of the squad and improve where he sees fit... and it would appear that Phils time with us is drawing to what seems like a disappointing close...
We have hit a bit of a purple patch since Emery took over and Coutinho has done little-to-nothing towards that...
Shame really... -
Really nice touch by the club and JPA to welcome him in such a way...
Emery has got one of his men... Lets see how it goes!

For about 700 million and spread over 129 years. But yet totally within FFP restrictions, whilst we have to sell players like Ings and Sanson just to balance the books.
Yep. Not rigged at all.
Yep…
and even though all football matches in the league are recorded and have camera crews present, it’s only the “big” clubs that regularly get TV time on Sky…
but you can watch any game you like on digital TV in Thailand and Korea and Egypt…
but if they gave everyone the option to watch the other clubs, those clubs would have to receive some TV money too… and that wouldn’t be fair on Chelsea, Citeh etc

Correct.
And it’s no surprise that DJ is hinting at a different former player that I’ve defended in the past, given that he’s completely obsessed with him and brings him up in every thread
I honestly dont have a clue what you're going on about chap.
You seem somewhat obsessed about insinuating about me being obsessed about someone, to be fair.
Its a bit creepy -

He’s nowhere near good enough to make it as a PL player, you could see that from the youth cup victory a couple of years back. Of all those players, only maybe Chukwuemeka will make it. Kessler and Ramsey have an outside chance.
Of our current crop, the one that stands out the most is Irroegbunam. I think he may have an impact at this level but the rest of them will probably ply their trade in the lower divisions. Which is fine, they’ll still be very wealthy.
My football manager campaign which is about 14 years in the future says differently…
He did quite well at Villa before moving to Newcastle…
Then again, my old FM campaign in 2007 had Nathan Delfoneso scoring the winning goal for England against Wales in the World Cup final…
So it evidently isn’t a crystal ball…

That's because the opposite is true, there's a trend to blindly hate players just because they left us
Not at all…
Players come and go…
but I tend to keep my appreciation/affection/fond memories for players that leave under 3 very distinct rules:
1) The Mellberg rule
Leaves to another country and doesn’t kick a ball against us
2) The Albrighton/Carew rule
Leaves because they are pretty much forced to… Didn’t want to go, but due to not being offered a new contract or being out of favour with the management, are hamstrung into leaving
3) The Laursen/Petrov/Nilis rule
Enough said

I don’t admire Chukwumeka at all. I have basically no feelings for him. Barely saw him play for us, barely seen him play for Chelsea.
Im just stating facts. Pretending he’s failing in his career because he left us is odd

We are where the top top echelon of clubs aspire to be.
Top clubs wouldn’t even be allowed to be top clubs if it wasn’t for Aston Villa…
We invented the league system… We graciously gave them the opportunity to actually compete for something…
Top echelon?
We are as close to Godhood as a sporting establishment could be…
Fans of those lesser heathen clubs should be kissing our hairy beanbags for what Villa selflessly gave them…
