    Just got back,

the stats don’t show the story for me.

We let them get back in that, Chelsea had no right to. We were so sloppy in possession, unforced errors and lazy tracking back from some players. That’s why their possession was so high, not slick passing or build up play from Chelsea.

Watkins fed on scraps all game, we lumped it up to him god knows how many times, he must have been deflated at the end.

luiz and Carlos had nightmares today and thank god McGinn can turn on a sixpence because he got at least three hospital passes from team mates.

I just wish we hadn’t got more injuries to worry about, and I wish Konsa sparked out half their attacking lineup.

what I did see is that Chelsea are a very immature side, Gallagher as the ring leader but they are a rabble of talented morons… they won’t be top next year, no chance

I hope that pricks mum catches hepatitis

Olsen made a great save after the mix up but he makes me very nervous. Too many mistakes and doesn’t command his area well but pulls off some great saves when he plays. He wasn’t the reason we threw away a 2 goal lead but I was never confident with him in goal.

If we were still playing Burton Albion, Rotherham et al. in the Championship, Olsen would shine…

    but we aren’t…

and our first choice keeper is arguably the best in the world…

No, he didn’t Enckelmen it, but as a backup, he still doesn’t put a glove on Emi…

I don’t dislike the bloke… It must be horrible to be a sub goalkeeper for probably the best at that time…

But when you know Olsen is playing, it doesn’t inspire confidence…

    and the opposition know it!

look, we are all disappointed especially giving a 2 goal lead away

but having read every post up to now this crap performance and bottle job and dropped points was all Olsens fault

Olsen was awful, he was crap, he doesn't command the area etc etc

we did not concede a 2 goal lead due to Olsen......far from it...but hey ho

    haters always gonna hate

i'm naming and shaming....put these words together wobble give head...others shit players performances....manager it wrong got

if i get a warning so be it but bloody hell...

oh, and i aint responding to any one of you who put something back at me because i can't be arsed as it will most probably be bollocks

And I dare you to say - when you saw that Emi was coming off and that Olsen was coming on - that you sat back in your chair and thought “we will be fine, Robin has got this”

At no point did I blame Olsen completely… but, considering he was the goalkeeper in the second half that we conceded and threw away a two goal lead, he WAS a contributing factor!

Who was injured. What else could we do?

Nothing… but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t good enough to deputise…

I don’t dislike the bloke, I don’t want him to fail (especially not whilst representing our club)… but we shit the bed when Emi went off and Robin is not good enough…

you don’t think Chelsea got the bit in their teeth when they knew our World Cup winning goalkeeper was off with an injury?

im sure Olsen is a top bloke and I don’t hate him… but if you’re a footballer and you want to score a goal, and you’ve got a choice of playing against Emi or Olsen - you’re going to choose Olsen

I really wonder if people posting sometimes actually watched the game.

Yeah, I did pal, from start to finish… and I saw us 2-0 up with Emi on the pitch, and 2-2 at full time with 45 minutes of Olsen…

We were SHITE in the second half, collectively… but don’t tell me that we wouldn’t have stood a better chance of walking away with all three points had Emi stayed on…

Thats why he is our first choice goalkeeper…

    Ridiculous claim.

    Go on…

Tell me that you had full faith and confidence that we could go on to win the game as soon as you knew Emi was off and Olsen was on…

The collective sound of every bum hole of every Villa fan around the country tightened at the news…

And that’s not because we didn’t want him to do well…

but because we knew he wasn’t as reliable as Emi…

    facts are facts…

As much as everyone thinks we’ve bottled it. It feels different to the other times because we didn’t deserve to be 2-0 up in the first place. It wasn’t like Brentford where we played well and had a mad 9 minutes. We were rubbish for 90 but fortunately managed to get a couple of goals. I feel relieved we got the draw tbh.

What annoys me is that we don’t seem to have the ability to cope with these physical pressing teams, we don’t learn or adapt.

Physical, pressing teams is one thing…

Yanking at our players shirts and pulling them to the ground and the ref being completely oblivious to it is something else entirely

I'd have Barry over Dougie all day. Dougie is great but Barry was on another level.  He was good enough to be a regular in a Premier League winning team and I think if he'd have left us earlier probably would have added a couple more titles to that haul.

    *cough* cheats *cough,cough*

  10. Seen some post by some Man U fan saying that Emi didn’t know the rule etc etc etc

    Emi knew…
    He knew…
He knew as soon as it went to penalties that the letter of the law allowed him to have another pop at the fans, the players, the opposition - everyone…
He knew he had a free hit to throw them off their game…

    God I love that bloke!

  11. If he isn’t going to win them for us, I’d love to see him win them for anyone else…

    Roma

    Inter

    Valencia

    Leverkusen

    PSG

    Atletico Madrid

any of them and a dozen others

id just be heartbroken if he did it for Citeh…

I don’t think that weird rule that nobody knows about matters.

I’m fairly certain the ref was saying he wasn’t giving him a yellow after all so it’s irrelevant

I don’t think that clueless clearing in the woods knew the rules to a game of football… let alone having the authority to tell the best goalkeeper in the world that he couldn’t save another penalty…

Mods can we get a new rating for the ref? I don’t think “very poor” does the job

I’m actively trying to find out his name and what country he comes from?

That would be a good start for defining a new rating..
