He has been and is an excellent owner for our club.

Last season and the season before that were our lowest point totals in the premiership.

We've had to be concerned about relegation for 3 consecutive seasons.

If he ran any other business the way he ran this club he would be classed as a failure.

I refuse to hate Randy Lerner for trying and failing, I think it's petty, childish and to be frank I think it's beneath me.

How did you feel about mcleish? Heskey? Harewood? Hutton? I'm sure the list could be extended.

I don't think i've ever known someone associated with this club defended to the extent Lerner is with the attitude of 'he tried'

McLeish I thought was absolutely useless, but I don't "hate" him per se. I despised the brand of football he peddled but as a human being? Nah. I may have made the odd ill thought post out of anger but I've done the same with Lerner. The others? Well they did try. At least I think they did. I don't hate them at all and frankly neither should you.

Lerner has done a fair bit for this club, he's put a lot of money in and with a bit more luck or a better man in charge he might well have made it stick. When i say he tried, I mean he tried really, really hard. Now we're off down another path after a series of monumental **** ups (well, two although Houllier is debatable) and I think he's doing a good job.

Maybe hate is a bit harsh as a person. He could of course be a decent guy.

I'd say I hate him as an owner, in the same way I hated Mcleish as the manager.

To be fair, I just genuinely hate McLeish as a manager and as a person.

As well as Robbie Savage, I couldn't think of a human being I would wish the Ebola virus on more than those two...

He has been out for a long time, but now he can get a full preseason under his belt and show Lambert what he is made of... Some of the criticism of Bannan has been way over the top... but from what I have seen of Gardner, he is more worthy of a first team place than Bannan 100%.... Come on Gary.... Stay injury free and show your brother what being a Villa player is really about!

We've yet to see the best of him in the first team. He's just got to stay injury free and maybe he will come on like Delph has this season. Did his brother want to leave Villa or was he forced out because of lack of first team opportunities, either way you cant blame him.

Yeah you can... Anyone who willingly leaves us to join the Blues clearly never had this club in his heart... Leave to go anywhere you like... but not to aid our arch rivals... If it came to playing for the Blues or jacking in football altogether, I would ask for a mop and bucket... Either that or end up going down in history as their all time record own-goal scorer :-D

     Wow we suck

I'm assuming you're talking about the US. I can't figure why we can produce such great keepers and very determined, aggressive (if typically lacking technical ability and craft) players elsewhere on the pitch, but consistently produce central defenders with the attention span and decision making of a fruit fly. For as long as I can remember, even our very best defenders have always been full of stupid self-inflicted and completely avoidable mistakes.

I teach science in Thailand and live with 4 Americans. I discussed this theory with them. American mainstream sports, by and large, are ball-to-hand based - basketball, American football, baseball etc... Therefore it would seem that you guys from a younger age have had hand-eye co-ordination drilled into you a lot more than say other countries where football (or what you would call soccer) is the most played sport... Hence why you guys can produce outstanding keepers (bar Kasey Keller - there is always an exception) but a lot of your outfield players don't seem to make the grade at the highest level.

  5. If it wasn't for Lambert seeing something in Guzan, we would have lost him forever because of Alex McClitface... SO glad to have Guzan in between the sticks... Just need to offload Given now and maybe pick up another young, up and coming keeper.

  6. What a lovely video. Good work man; definately set the scene for how the season unfolded... It was painful around Xmas having to watch games from Thailand but it all came together nicely at the end!

Lets hope next season provides us with more joy so you can make another video with a soundtrack that doesn't suck donkey balls :-D

  7. If CB goes, he wont go without us making a damn good profit on what we paid... We will all be a bit gutted because, even though football is riddled with mercenaries, we kind of hope that he feels like 'one of us'; Lambert has shown this season that his scouting network is actually rather amazing... He has picked some wonderful, unchecked talent for dirt cheap right under the noses of the big clubs and now people are talking about future England internationals and strong midfield enforcers etc etc.

If we sell him, we sell him... We as fans cant do anything about that aside from have faith in Lambert that he will have a few jokers cards up his sleeve to pick up a couple of new fan favourites that the likes of Tottenham, Utd and Chelsea didnt because they, essentially, dont sell shirts or make headlines...

  8. Dont you just love how hes retweeted 2 idiots and then claimed that aston villa fans everywhere are showing their true colours?

Really rich isn't it? One of the snidest cheaters to ever have played professional football and who has seemingly made a career out of goading the Villa (I distinctly remember him thinking he was ever-so-smart with his 'I would really 8 to be a Villa fan now' tweet after the Chelsea hammering) has someone say something back that hurts him (albeit REALLY quite hideous and not something that I would like to be associated to any Villa fan) and suddenly its all of us...

RIP his dad, but that doesnt stop him being a class A prick

  9. Came in to post a reply but BOF said everything I had in mind.

You can't lambast Savage for his comments after we came so close to the drop.

Yes you can... Yes you absolutely can... He has always had it in for the Villa and we should always have it in for him.... Even if he came out with some biblically sage and worldly wise advice and philosophy, we should as one, oppose him because he is a bellend... Plain and simple... I despise the fact that he has a pulse and still has the ability to procreate using the DNA in his curdled sperm.... He is a w**ker... 10000%

Right.... Now to kick Wigan before they go down... To teach their players and fans a lesson in manners for not rolling over to our fine club in previous meetings and relieving us of this stress sooner... Bring on the next game and another 6-1 spanking ala Sunderland

Knowing that our attack is decent (CB staying would help!), I'd take any win with a clean sheet!

Not me mate, im a sociopath... That two bob rugby club posing as a football team have been keeping me up late at night worrying... Now that they are miserable, I am well up for seeing our next result turning into a cricket score and battering the snot out of them

  12. I love Gabby and I think he took his goal very well. And he really deserved it too as he kept on running for the whole game and created chances. Sure, it was Cuellar who passed the ball to Benteke for the 5th and it was a poor deflected shot that set up the 3rd, but he was still involved and forced those errors.

But I don't like this "highest PL scorer for Villa"-thing. Don't missunderstand me. It's a great achievement to score so many goals, it really is. But I think it's a bit unfair on Yorkie as football started before 1992 and Yorke played for Villa from 89 and scored quite a few goals before the english league changed its' name to Premier League. To me it's just a Sky promotion. Having said that, if we stay up and he goes on like this for another few years he'll probably pass Yorke anyway.

But Yorke wasn't Villa through and through.... He didn't have his heart in the club... He showed his colours and they weren't claret and blue by a long shot... He left us for United then went on to sign for the Blues...

  13. If Lambert has cut a vast majority of the major earners off the wage bill, we stay in the league and get all of that extra revenue next season, I think it would be a bit silly if Lerner didn't provide some form of warchest for his efforts

  14. After years of being mismanaged, played out of position and having his confidence sapped, it finally looks like we have our boy Gabs back... Which is fantastic because he feels for the club the same way we do... So chuffed he broke Yorkes record and hope he can go on to do a lot more for the club... He IS a Villa legend now, there is no doubt about it...
