Official rovers site seems to think it is definitely going ahead.. "We are indebted to John and his staff for their efforts in helping to make the areas in and around the stadium as safe as possible for spectators. "However, as everyone who lives within the region will be fully aware, there are still patches of snow and ice on the approaches. Therefore, we urge all fans to arrive a little earlier, wear the appropriate footwear and take extra care." Tickets for this Thursday's Carling Cup semi-final 1st leg at Ewood Park are on open sale right up until the 8.00pm kick-off. Tickets are priced from just £15 for Adults and £5 concessions.

Morning all, just called the Rovers ticket office (98712221444) who say for now the game is still on but that if a decision is made later on to call it off they cannot do anything about it. Not saying it is defo on but just relaying some info.

Did carew even travel with the team? any kind of information on the situation?

Ignoring the strange comments about trying to get a nil nil (when our defence has let in on average 2 goals per game this year), where did you get this information that Carew isn't going to be fit from? No site that I have checked has him as definitely out but all as doubtful.

It was bound to happen eventually. I think it is in a way beneficial in mobilizing the politically apathetic and hopefully leading to a dampening of support for the BNP in the next elections. No doubt media sensationalism awaits

I think it will be a better final with Barcelona, and Man Utd will have a better chance to win. Stretford, I think your hatred of Chelsea is blinding you seriously here. Yea, lets see Stretford's reaction when he denies Man Utd 4 penalties But the thing you have to remember is that he got decisions wrong in Chelsea's favour tonight as well. Abidal should not have been sent off, that was a mistake. Michael Ballack should undoubtedly have been sent off for threatening a match official, and Drogba should have been shown a red after the whistle for foul and abusive language. Chelsea should man up, admit they didn't take their chances when they should have and be thankful that two of their major players haven't been banned. Bullshit mate. I normally empathize if not agree with most of what you contribute however to suggest that any time would not be riled up after such an inept refereeing performance is way off. The fact that they complained doesn't mean they were any less robbed. Further it's not exactly an overreaction given that for many this was the last plausible chance to win the Champions' League. Abidal's sending off doesn't really compensate for four penalties. If in the final he sends VDS off wrongly in the first minute and then Messi wrongly in the 89th when Barca are 3-0 up I doubt you'd say it evens itself out.

Lifelong Villa fan. Might just care a bit. He's not as outspoken or charismatic but essentially as a boyhood Villa fan to me means he should be held with the reverence of Ian Taylor.
