  1. AARGH!! Immense? He can't play football!!! .... He's fit and he's pretty quick, but he should not be anywhere near our first team. .... Then again, football is opinions. Mine is that NRC is a very bad footballer. Aargh  And mine is that if we remove NRC from the team we'll start losing more football matches. Can't believe that people still do not see just how important he is to this team.
  2. Agreed. Would be quite interesting to see just how fast Gabby would've caught up with and distanced Petrov for the most popular choice if he was added as an option to this poll.
  3. I also think it was the right choice to start with Milner on the bench today. The lad came down on Friday, has probably not had one proper training session with the boys, and to throw him right in there vs Liverpool and expect him to solve all our problems....nah, not for me, too much too soon for a young lad and might have turned out to be a bad experience for him. Right decision. For the record I sincerely hope and expect him to start vs Tottenham. Good thing we don't have too many players away on International duty this time around as it gives them a chance to work on some relations.
  4. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is the right answer. Carew in the middle with Milner and Young on the wings. Petrov, NRC and Barry in the middle of the park. How you organize them is less of a problem for me. Either 1 defensive and 2 in front of him, or 2 defensive and 1 in front of them.
  5. If he stays I think he will knuckle down and play well for us as he won't have any other choice if he wants to keep his England place. Capello's going to be here a lot this coming season and that will no doubt motivate him to do his very best for us. But it might take a couple of months until we see that as I don't think Barry will be starting next Sunday, and the other boys will have to play themselves "out of the team" or get injured for Barry to get his chance. And I think we will start the season quite well as we have been in competetive mode for some weeks already, and as I said, that would mean no Barry (other than sub apps) for a couple of months. I voted yes by the way
  6. In fear of getting accused of sucking up.....keep up the good work General :!: :!: :!: Never been proder of being a Villa-fan.
  7. Yes. Looking at the bigger picture, we're on the up. Meaning "no" would be the wrong answer (for me). Easy as that.
  8. Oh, I don't know about that. They had a poor sequence of 3 games true, but in their last game they were back to normal, played some exhilarating stuff, and beat Fredrikstad 5-1 (and missed a penalty on top of that). They miss Tchoyi no doubt, but they will keep Annan to the end of August now.
  9. Cheers BOF, exquisite service once again. Hoping for Stabæk, but have a weird gut feeling we're going to Latvia.
  10. Let's hope Man C get them, then Perhaps we should have a closer look at some of their players? YouTube Alanzinho, yes, Stabæk's very own Barry Bannan (sizewise). If nothing else, he's living proof that short players can make it to a certain degree and that Bannan always will have the opportunity of making it big (see what I did there?) in Norway if his PL career never kicks off.
  11. Yeah, I can comfirm that Stabæk most definitely are a MUCH better side than both Odense and Midtjylland and beat the league leaders FFK (incidentally Tarik Elyounoussi's former club) 5-1 only a couple of weeks ago. :winkold: 8)
  12. He has, but we won't be signing any of their players.
  13. Amy MacDonald - This is the Life. Fantastic song, and can I just say it's a mighty fine specimen the Scots have produced there.
  14. I think he'll play if he stays. If he gets his head down and does well in training he will get picked for the side imo, and if he comes in and does well for us the majority of the fans will forgive him. Not all of course. Memory is (usually) short in football. However, this all depends a bit on who we buy this summer and what our options for CM will look like come August. If MON tries out a CM duo/trio without Barry in it and these boys do well, then Barry's way into the side may prove more difficult than we'd have thought last season.
  15. General, would just like to say congrats and a big thank you for giving up sponsor money for the sake of ACORNS. Will definitely buy the shirt now. Will also make sure that all my football supporting friends in Norway know what ACORNS is and does for children in England and what it is Aston Villa REALLY have done with this. (As most Norwegians won't know what ACORNS does and will probably not ponder too much about Villa's latest "shirt sponsor".) My wife already knows and loves what you guys have done today!
  16. Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars - Live from Isle of Wight 2007 on TV
  17. General, I read earlier that you're looking to expand the range of ladies wear. That's great news as I'm looking to dress the missus up in some quality clothing. When do you think we can expect to find the new ladies clothing in the online shop? Would before the start of the season be too much to ask? (Her birtday's coming up in late August, and that way I'd have the present sorted :winkold: )
  18. So no Boaz for us then presumably?
