  1. True. But when the likes of City and Chelski win trophies, do you eye it as "tainted" or well deserved in this new era of footie? Btw.. I'd still like to think Ron Saunders can win the Champions League trophy with our current side
  2. The reason I ask is because for some time now a lot of Villa supports want Lerner to sell the club. I recently came across a Man City fan who now supports Bradford because as he once supported the Blues he didn't like the fact that if the club were to win a trophy, it would feel more "bought" then anything else. It didn't seem earned. He says he was happy to see City win the Premier League crown, but he wasn't estatic. I'll admit, I've come across Chelski and City supporters who boast about their success but I respond with the usual, "bought" response, just to shut their gloryhunter mouth up Is it jealousy or reality? I don't know.. but if Bill Gates were to buy Villa and we'd start winning titles, I would still support VIlla just as much and boast, but feel a bit hypercritical.
  3. Like it or not, PL has to stay. Since, JG left, we've been a club with a revolving door in the managers office. We need stability. Let's be honest. This team has been shit for several years now and its PL job to build a new foundation because we've been running in place for nearly 4 years. To make a great soldier and unit, you have to break them down and build them up. I agree, he does to add more Premier League experience to the team, but he can't control injuries. Some question his managerial tactics in the Premier League, but if I can remember he did pretty well last season. Grant you, he does need to make better tactical decisions. As for Randy, I truly believe his heart is in the right place. Lets face it, the ONLY way a team is going to get really good is if a rich arab buys the club. While life is miserable right now, I believe in what PL and RL are doing.
  4. Keeping things in perspective.... again.. Just looking at the starting-11 before the game... many Premier League supporters would'nt be able to recognize seven players on our first team today. Its a work in progress and although this was another TOUGH fu&king pill to swallow.. I still believe PL knows what he's doing. I step back in order to take two forward.
  5. At least I can now go take a bath.. and run some errands.... F&CK!!
  6. Agree. NO team in the Premier League should lose by this much, but its only ONE game. Face it.. losing 8-0 to the reigning European champions (yes, they're not the same team) isn't acceptable, but at least it wasn't against QPR, Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, etc. If you believe were as bad a team as we were today, than you can't believe were as promising as we looked against Liverplop.
  7. Brother.... i understand but like it or not, were talking about losing to Manure... not Charlton
  8. Juan Pablo Angel but only if Hadji comes too. Heaven knows that Mustapha was the ONLY one with an ounce of creativity during JPA stay at Villa Park, that could give the Colombian a good chance. Lets throw in Nobby who played with JPA when he bagged 23 goals... coincedence? think not.
  9. Martinez draws up the blue print and lays down the foundation, Rodgers follows it, now Rodgers is heading to lead England's only 5-time European Champions. Martinez? Yes, PLEASE!
  10. Sorry, but didn't we battle last season to get into the top-6 in order to play in Europe, which is what we just got knocked out of? Isn't that the whole point? To finish high enough to PLAY in Europe! Today's loss is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery dissapointing. To be happy that we can now concentrate solely on the FA Cup and Carling Cup is exactly what Hull, the Scum, Sunderland, etc are gearing for! It's a "losers" mentality. Villa should always be focused on the BIG PRIZES!
  11. WE NEED A CREATIVE MIDFIELDER!!!!... especially one without a history of injuries!!!
  12. If you say so. Not sure who all these Angel haters are though. Just because people don't hold him in the same regard as other people do does not mean they hate him. As for the Crouch analogy well I see your point and accept it to a degree but the fact is he didn't make it at Villa and despite what might have been he cannot be seen as a success. Similar to Angel in many respects therefore for me although I don't hate him (Angel), in fact I like him, I just don't think he is as good or was as good as many others do/did! Agree. As for the "haters" I'm just talking about the ones that bring on the heavy personal abuse. I don't think Gabby is as good as many think... but I've never said anything "hateful" about the guy.. and I constantly support him because he's a Villan!
  13. Anyone with two eyes in the front of their head can see that Barry is a supremely creative player. Here are my two eyes
  14. Granted JPA didn't always have the best players around him to help, but to say that the likes of Merson, Solano and Barry didn't provide him with good opportunities or couldn't play at his level is nonsense. quote] Merson was an old ball of rags by the time Angel got there (plus he had settling in). Solano lasted 1 season. Barry wasn't as good as he is now when Angel was at his best. In fact I remember a lot of people slagging of Barry at that time while he was soiling his Premiership diapers.
  15. But aren't most goals flukes being that certain things have to fall into place for them to happen? look no further then Gabby's goal last weekend when he totally whiffed on the ball and it appeared to come out of his brown eye for the goal.
  16. Two things very obvious about this answer.... you dont know what "peak" means and you dont know how to spell Colombia.
  17. Unfortunately for the most part... Angel has played (especially at his peak) on crap Villa teams. Once it was obviously the knee injury took away the little speed he had.. it was the perfect opportunity for Angel haters to say "I told you so". For me he deserved better.. on a better team.. with better player and better tactics.... just look at Crouch!
  18. I still say we should strongly consider PSV's best player Peru striker Jefferson Farfan. Not only does he light it up in the Eredivisie but also in Champions League.
  19. Gago is going to Barcelona or Real Madrid. They are currently 'haggling' over him. Rumor is is that Real Madrid will sign him in January.. but leave him at Boca Juniors until next summer. Also, Gago plays with promising striker Rodrigo Palacio that will be a hot commodity in the near future.
  20. AT Anfield... we dont do well over there. Heart: 1-1 (Crouch, Petrov) Head: 2-0 Liverplop (Crouch, Gerrard PK) Although Crouch seems to be sublime on the international level and not in the Premiership.. still think he will score against us much like Vass did last year.
  21. Welcome to the site. For people who haven't seen Farfan.. he's in the Gabby mold but IMO he's more of a well rounded striker then Gabby.
  22. Not that Farfan would be my top choice striker to go after but he'd be "another striker" to go after. The "first"... Klose, Koller Speaking of German internationals.. one player that really impressed me during the World Cup... Philip Lahm.. he'd look awesome racing down the left flank at Villa Park. As for SWP.. sorry dont rate him that much.
  23. Speaking of PSV... they have a kid named Jefferson Farfan who scores big goals.
  24. I know people dont want to hear it around here.. but once again Crouch looks pretty good on the field scoring against Bordeaux. Thought then and now.. DOL ****-up didn't know how to use him.. Angel... Barry... Moore... Gabby.. etc.
