  1. Went with Calzaghe on points. should be an interesting fight, Calzaghe's got the speed on Hopkins I'd reckon but I don't think he's got enough in him to put him down.
  2. I'm not Driving Anymore (instrumental) - Rob Dougan

    Do you read?

I'm currently on the Algebraist by Iain M Banks. I wanted to try some of his sci-fi sinc eI like his fiction so much, and got told this was a good one to get into it because it's similar to his 'Culture' series but outside it, lets you get a taste for his brand of sci fi. And my god was it dull for about 200 pages. Just this immense feeling of it not going anywhere fast, the alien species the book deals with heavily, the Dwellers, aren't that believable, the main character this isn't terribly likeable and I found the stuff he's describing really hard to envisage. I was really struggling to slog through it. hit about page 300 and it kicks into gear, finally. Starting to turn into a bit of a page turner, finally! I've been wanting to investigate another book, House of Leaves, thats meant to be a bit of an enigma. Worth a look on up on it to see whether it might catch you're interest. It's written in a very odd way, the text's layout becomes reflective of the plot and events, so for example a chase scene sees a single word on each page for 20 odd pages . The whole book deals with the idea of a labirynth (sp?) and the way the text is laid out is supposed to encourage that feeling of being lost and confused. It's apparently a very interesting read, a bit of a horror with a load of storylines going on on the same page, footnotes made by one of the protagonists, codes and things in the text... I think that'll be my summer reading. And I fully expect someone to come and say 'It's crap' or 'that sounds awful' quite soon .
  4. Kinetic - Radiohead they've done some top notch b-sides down the years.
  5. Nobody knows exactly but it's likely it'll be a mission pack. There were suggestions of whole new areas of the game, which I severely doubt will happen. And these are almost certainly going to be 360 ONLY benefits, Microsoft gave Rockstar a rather large sweetner for exclusive DLC content, and I suspect they'd not be happy if Sony got it as well. (Having said that I'm sure they'll make their way onto the PS3 eventually, just as the older GTAs did making their way to the Xbox).
  6. We've got 2 turncoats on the site...
  7. A guy goes to the pub, and says to his friend: "You won't believe what happened! I was taking a shortcut along the railway track, and I found a girl tied to the rails. I untied her, and then we had sex over and over again, all the positions, everything." His friend replies: "That's great! Did you get a blowjob?" "No, I never found her head."
  8. I can't put them in order but a top 3 for me would be Scarlet, Keeley and Kelly Brook. I can't choose... Slightly OT but one of the former hottest women on the planet I saw while I was hol on the telly. Gail Porter. God she was absolutely stunning way back when. Such a shame.

    Best Bond

Boom boom Connery for me. But Brosnan is a close second (Goldeneye carrying him, although I do think he was a very good Bond in really crap films afterwards...) and Craig coming in a close third. If Craig pulls off the next one as good as Casino Royale he could go second. Although the title doesn't inspire any confidence.
  10. Blandy - I agree, it's a corker!!! Currently listening to The Ruby Suns - Tane Mahuta Thirded, brilliant brilliant album. Strangely enough I'm currently listening to some earlier Elbow- Red (featuring a very young looking Guy...). Elbow have done some great songs over the years and I think this is one of the best.
  11. Stalin, but it lacks a MON option.
  12. Amazing tune. Love that guitar riff for the first 2 minutes. Then again I am a Joy Division fan. Acclerate - R.E.M.
  13. Engineers - Thrasher leading into Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin 2 very good tunes.
  14. De Niro. Pacino has become hopelessly typecast, and partly I think it's his own fault. Plays the same character in every film he's in. Scarface probably is the culprit. And even that isn't that good. Whereas De Niro is quite versatile, capable of parodying himself in the likes of Meet the Parents, which showed him a good comedy actor, or the more serious aspects of his range in his more well critiqued films like Raging Bull.
  15. One of Aphex Twins best songs (if not THE best, taken from Selected Ambent Works 85-92, a great album)
  16. Newcastle. Small Heath will never be that good and it's good to have the derby. Newcastle meanwhile are a laughing stock driven by rabid delusions of granduer. It'd be hilarious to see them go down, and best of all regardless of the money I don;t think they'd easily come back. It'd also show what prats the Geordies are, they lapped up 'King' Kev's return, buying the shirts with his name on the back and the little cardboard crowns. Allardyce wasn't doing well but it was crazy to sack him and then even more insane to replace him with a bloke that a)doesn't know how to deal with their biggest problem, the defence has been out of the game for some time and looks completely out of his depth (because he is) and c) then choose to bring in a loud of execs for no apparent reason other than some ham fisted way of trying to make things better, but which in fact made things infinitely worse by undermining whatever authority Keegan had. So Newcastle it is for me, bring them crashing to back to earth with a very heavy Geordie bump.
  17. The version from Hvarf-Heim. Still not managed to get hold of the original Von, or the album of the same name. Hopefully will get round to it one day, and get round to picking up Heima which is meant to be stunning.
