He's always said that he doesn't have a clue who the manager will be. He said he'd heard McClaren and Hughes were ruled out but he didn't know who was in the frame. This "meltdown" talk was just an optimistic hunch, not based on any knowledge. No it wasn't. He was given a "snippet of info" I think he's words were about meltdown man. He didnt want to say anything about it in case it disrupted anything.

It's taken me a while to warm to the idea of FSW. A few things concerned me, especially his ability to bring our youth into the set up. Then IIRC wasn't he behind the bid from Inter for Gary Gardner?? I thought there were two bids from inter and real? If so shows a sign he can see the quality we are bringing through. Think my vote a present is nudging towards him.....mostly due to Alecs post. But I'm sure someone will reply with one that'll make me think again.

He's the king john. From what I've read he is also and older gent so doesn't play and silly ITK games. Gave us any news he had when he got it. The bent deal he knew about ages before. I for one miss him loads. Even had his profile page book marked so I could check his recent posts. -
Just as absurd saying he isn't going to be because you feel his out of his depth? So I'm guessing you didn't see the game. But yet you state he must have been shit because we lost? He was immense that game, so you can't really comment on it if you didnt see it. We aren't making it up. Very obvious that he was adjusting to the pace of the league in his short time in a villa shirt. I've seen enough of him to know he'll be a good addition to the team. And has the potential to be a great for us.

Love it Villian-007, Not in favour or against to be totally honest, and to be fair to Benetez, he had a lot going on behind the scenes to contend with. Yeah that's how I feel, wouldn't be gutted if he came in.

Ive also noticed that things are very quiet regarding his future, other than his desire to stay in England. I think its a strong a possibility he has already agreed to take over the reigns of another club, but is it us? Why are most not in favour of FSW?

Im afraid due to this horrible season we must be looking to reestablish ourselves in the top 6 again. Top 4 is along way off again now with Man city changing the game. I'm all fo being optimistic but we can't be 'over optimistic' when making such big decisions. Yep it's one of those impossible appointments at the moment. We need to get back into the top 6 but at the same time need someone who could take us a little further. Is there anyone out there or gettable who could do that?

Dont see the hype with frank. He won things a barca granted, with a wealth of funds and players. Anywhere else he's been in his short career he's been shit.

Not true at all. His signings are still the spine of the side, he signed kompany, de jong and tevez. Also zabaleta who has been a big part of the defense. Lets not forget barry either. Also lescott has finally settled in. You'd have him at the villa in a heart beat.

So do I but I think he would have 'bigger' clubs he would be more interested in probably Spain or Italy Yeah but he wants to stay in England. We kind of fit the bill of being a challenge. It's too good do think about though, I'd love it.

Personally I think appointing someone like that would be madness. They must have prem experience or experience of managing at the very top. Otherwise I think they'd crumble under the pressure.

It did have a damaging effect on the club, so it was not the smartest logic deployed by GH. I still think it was the right move. We were in the thick of relegation. Cup comes last. It was always going to be GH fault if we lost the next game.
