I couldn't disagree more, for me Given is a far more ambitious signing that Foster, who like most English players is vastly overrated and will probably have about as much sell on value as Given in 3 years time. Totally agree. We are signing given for about 4 mill, which in this day and age in football is about a fiver. Sell on value means nothing. 35 yrs is his prime he is a top top keeper and it's a great move. Richard on the other hand I've come to realise would find a negative in a barrell load of positives. And would probably moan if Arsenal signed him and we hadn't put in a bid. Great keeper, great signing.

Totally agree!! One of their last games of the season they conceded two goals from corners, both times he was talking and messing about with other players.. Im really not fussed on him. Had my phone call today anyway. Given is done. No word on announcement though.

Total rubbish. At times he was devastating last season. Perfect option to replace young. Great pace, good skills and can rip the back of the net out with some great shooting. Any bad points....of course which player doesnt but he improves all the time. Yeah he has the stroppy git label, and it's all his own fault. But he's knuckled down, got regular football at wigan and is ready for the next step. We are that step. Think he'll thrive here.

I'd say the medical would be very thorough. Also if IRC he's shoulder problem was that it kept dislocating. Similar to curtis davis. It's quiet common and the surgery fixes the problem, yet the recovery time is a long. He'd be well over that now and champing at the bit to get going again. Very experienced prem and international keeper. Great bit of business for me.
