  1. Ellis is about to **** it all up again????
  2. My head says we'll go down but my heart says we'll just do enough to stay up.
  3. lol took me a few days to get that one I don't get it........... EDIT ## Its OK everyone - I just got it!
  4. I agree Its called university halls of residence!
  5. I doesn't really matter if its better or worse....................... Its just shit.
  6. I think its fooking bang out of order.................... My 9 year old stepson's dad did exactly the same to him and scared the shit out of him, whilst pointing and laughing presumably. The poor kid couldn't sleep for days and muggins here has to deal with it. rocket polisher!
  7. I'd like to see Brucie back at the club - He was only around for what seemed like five minutes but in that short space of time the club presented a much more professional face than we're used to. Nice bloke too it seemed from the outside.
  8. What exactly have they done that's broken Company Law? I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything. Being a crap chairman isn't a crime I'm afraid. Its not about being a crap chairman. If my thinking is right, the PLC is operating illegally. Blandy earlier wrote this (which I was commenting on) Just off the top of my head Dougs construction company consistantly gets contracts for the majority of the re-development work at Villa Park and Bodymore Heath... Is that not a conflict of interests? As a PLC we have no CEO (illegal), no Finance Director (illegal) and a chairman who is way past the recommended PLC retirement age (Not sure about this one - illegal??) Either way laws are being broken however trivial they may seem to some. Could we as fans/shareholders take the board to court - for no other reason than to highlight the shoddy goings-on. Would this kind of exposure motivate the fan base to push for change? This is what I'm getting at. Like I said earlier - Would this be a viable strategy? Would it work or not?
  9. No. If everytime a company made a loss, or the share price dropped people could take the directors to court, there's be a back log for the next 20 years. What exactly would your claim be based on? We're a PLC operating illegally.
  10. As a shareholder could I theroretically try to take the club to court?? The board have not acted in my best interests and have broken the law. Would there be a case or not?????
  11. They're clearly not very good at their jobs but at least one of them acknowledged this and got on the phone to Rothschilds........ How long ago was that..................
  12. That could be potentially ironic couldn't it.
  13. And it should only take a premier league football club a few days to sign a £1.5 million French midfielder - but it actually took the best part of 4 months................................ the Doug effect!
  14. Doug doesn't give a shit as to who as long as they want to pay too much.
  15. THAT really is worrying. And I agree with JG. I too think that DOL would be really good for us with a good backing from the board. I don't even think that "good backing" would be entirely necessary. If DOL was told at the start of the window he had £10 million to spend and was actually given that I think he would spend well. His purchases to this point have on the whole been good. I appears that he has been promised a figure in past transfer periods, planned with that figure in mind, then at the last minute had the goalposts moved.
  16. If we had a half competant board who went about things in the right manner, had a plan, had targets and brought a degree of hope and optimism to the club I believe DOL would be good for us. If properly and sensibly backed I think DOL can take us forward. He did well when backed at Leeds why couldn't he do it here. I a big believer in stability and even if we go down I would advocate keeping DOL in the hot seat. I think the club at board level needs to be sorted out before we worry about the manager.
  17. ie he won't sell. I honestly don't think Dougs opinion matters anymore.
  18. Sorry for being thick, but "what" is why we can't sell the club? We can't sell the club because the owner has no interest in selling. Doug will sell, I think, but only on his (very unrealistic) terms. When Doug is out of the picture the club will be appropriately priced and be snapped up. As I've posted before, I think the Rothschilds appointment was to do with this. i.e. removing Doug from the process so a realistic price can be agreed with potential buyers.
  19. Well Doug does just about everything else; CEO, Chairman, Financial Director, Business Mastermind............... why not Car Park Attendant?
  20. If McCann get "done" in the near future we'll be in trouble.
  21. Cause financial mastermind Doug Ellis says so!
  22. How could Neville appoint Rothchilds to sell something he doesnt own! Maybe Neville suggested/recommended the appointment of Rothschilds to the board at Villa. The press release from Villa stated....... Rothschilds have been brought in to handle/manage the sale IMO and remove Doug from the process. Just my take on things.
  23. The PLC.......but no money has been spent yet which is what I was trying to say Maybe the PLC didn't actually bring in Rothchilds at all................. The Glaziers employed Rothchilds to facilitate their purchase of Man Utd......... Just guessing.... nah its a PLC appointment, thats the whole point I just get the feeling that AVIL had more than a little to do with Rothchilds being appointed........ Michael Neville as part of his remit as a director in several board rooms is an advisor on mergers and aquisitions (amongst other things). I believe his experience in this field would indicate any stalling in the takeover would not be down to AVIL. Maybe he prefers working with professionals and was responsible for suggesting bringing a quality agent like Rothschilds in?
  24. The PLC.......but no money has been spent yet which is what I was trying to say Maybe the PLC didn't actually bring in Rothchilds at all................. The Glaziers employed Rothchilds to facilitate their purchase of Man Utd......... Just guessing....
