  1. I'm quite hopeful that we too have one or two deals in place already and they will be announced on Jan 1st - It would follow from all the other understated but very professional behavior we have seen from the board thus far. Fingers crossed eh?
  2. Al lot depends on who they play with - If Ronaldino magically signed for Charlton he wouldn't be half the player he is playing at Barca.
  3. Fair play General, great to have you on board, thanks for taking the time to keep us all in the loop. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
  4. I would it would be a steal - If MON wants him and we've got the cash I can't see a problem. Persoanlly I can't see Spurs letting him go for anything less than £15 million.
  5. Why not Dem. I think it would be an exciting signing, other players have made the jump why not him. Wait and see i suppose. Saying that, its based on seeing him play for Eng Under 21's where Whittingham looks good  Its a gamble isn't it, for every Dean Ashton there's a Guy Whittingham
  6. Fair play Villa, more good news. Get well soon Lancs. Actually I think I've got a bit of a cough coming on............ don't think I'll be able to manage the Man U game.... [edit] Sorry, got confused...... get well soon Paddy [/edit]
  7. We haven't got a strong, powerful defender - a stopper - other than Laursen and we desperately need one, Davies fits the bill.
  8. Harry is a Villa fan................ and he's just had his passing out parade at Sandhurst..... Get on the phone General! [edit] (Apparently it's not Harry it's William who's the Villa fan. ) [/edit]
  9. Wasn't there a rumoured £50 million "warchest"................... TBF there have been all kinds of sums mentioned in the papers, haven't there? And ASFAIC those £50m should be for the summer too, hence only using 11 from then pretty fair. Does make you you wonder though.............

  11. Maybe you're right............ I'm just throwing ideas in the ring.
  12. I would argue that after being fecked over by his club he's a little unmotivated this year. A bit like our squad and management last year. Its amazing what a little motivation can do for a players attitude. Reo-Coker is EXACTLY the kind of player MON would target I reckon, young, English, huge potential and pissed off with his current club. ........... I would speculate we've already signed him! I would speculate that we havn't. I would also argue that his potential is not huge and that he's not going to get that much better than he already is. Decent player, thats all, wouldn't improve us much. Both Man Utd and Arsenal approached West Ham to sign him in the Summer. This is why he's pissed off at the moment. If we beat the "big boys" and signed a player that they were after I'd be thrilled......... wouldn't you?

  14. Sorry??? I could have sworn loads on here were saying Defoe is shite, what on earth are Man Utd sniffing around for???
  15. In latin american football.............. possibly Spanish............. But in the Premier League?
  16. Defoe for £7 million in Jan according to a paper???? It was on Sky. I happen to think this is a done deal - there was talk of Defoe being in and around Villa Park just before the summer transfer window closed. Would be a brilliant signing for me.
  17. Stunning idea Bicks. What a wonderful tribute to Terry.
  18. Thats true.......... depends how generous Randy turns out to be I suppose.
  19. I can't see Maloney coming in Jan. There's a good chance we'll get him to sign a pre-contract thing in Jan for him to sign after his contract expires at Celtic in the summer.
  20. Sorry, my fault. I just wanted to ask the general about terracing......
  21. No, I would say the future is choice. Nobody is forcing you to stand, you may choose a seated part of the stadium to watch games from. However, if you prefer to pay a little less to get in the ground and prefer to stand to watch, and I believe many do, then you currently have no option. It seems this thread has become a sounding board for the General to assess the fans opinions, wants and needs, and I applaud him for doing that. It all seems to do with doing whats right by the fans for the fans. Whats so wrong with offering the fans options when attending matches?
  22. But have zero atmosphere and are utterly soul less. As has been said before "big clubs" across the continent don't seem to have a problem with terracing.
