  1. It's generally though that there is a facility of £20m o/d. We were o/d by £12.1m 31.5.06. So anything left in there plus any fees recieved for Phillips and Berson are available now it appears. A guestimate of about £8-£9m If there is 8 mill left of the overdraft to spend that should be enough to buy £15 million worth of players given that most of the time fees are paid in instalments and rarely is the whole fee paid up front. Can't just sign Ronaldo for £15 million with the clubs debit card and when the bank realise we're over the overdraft limit just put up with the £30 "adminstration fee" from the bank - we won't have to pay it until next month anyway. Lerner will be the boss then and I'm sure he can strech to cover that 30 quid. I should be the clubs finance director, what's all the bloody fuss about??
  2. Don't be a bitch :winkold: Got that **** text at 5am this morning saying he was gonna put one in. The only reason he'd do that is out of spite the **** If he's putting a bid in (that Rothschilds and the board would recommend) I doubt he'd be doing it out of spite. But its not gonna happen - everybody that has been in some kind of contact with AV06 on here and elsewhere report that no bid will be made.
  3. Are we being sponsored by the adult channel?
  4. Yep, and if they do bid and it somehow gets past Rothshilds (which I don't think it will) I'm 100% certain Ellis will tell them to do one. Ellis will look like a prat if he recommends another bid - its not gonna happen.
  5. Just reminded me.......... Clicky thing
  6. It's 10 calendar days (weekends do count). It expires on the 23rd - the Reading match.
  7. No the bid does not have to be accepted by Petchey, Doug or the Board at AVFC even if it is above the 5% limit is my understanding. I will happily stand corrected if I have misunderstood this. Two points....... 1. The new bid MUST be 5% above the current agreed bid. 2. The AVFC board MUST recommend this new offer to the shareholders. Both MUST happen for Padfield to have any chance at all........ But the board won't recommend the bid, therefore no chance!
  8. You just get the feeling the the Lerner deal has been done, well, properly.
  9. The PR may have been slicker than a Penguins arse but it is backed up by what has gone on with the Browns, the calibre of his board, the calibre of his managerial appointment. His actions thus far have confirmed what's been said by his PR and others.
  10. PM him, i'm sure he won't keep it a secret! Certainly not anymore! He wrote a report about Villa and how it was run......... it was called the "fortereliable" report. His first name is Howard. My personal humble thanks go out to you as well sir. Great work, great commitment, thanks for your part in what is happening today.
  11. I would imagine most people would be considering the obvious Villa link.
  12. I have no idea, but like you said its fairly obvious that they are all in it for the MONEY. I just hope that all the bidders plans are fully scrutinised to ensure that none pose a risk to the long term future of AVFC. Problem is we have to trust a certain someone to ensure this and I will not hold my breath. I though we were trusting Rothschilds to make the best long term decision for the shareholders........... Doug's a fecking idiot.
  13. With the information available at the time he was a bloody site better than Ellis!
  14. Well my job sucks and I don't get enough money. Can't leave though because I need the little money I get to pay bills and survive. Want to walk away and go freelance (still not managed it yet!!) but I can't afford to. Its all bollox........... If I win the lottery I think I'll be happy!
  15. He took the Comers for chancers they were and that they wanted nothing more than the land. He called their bluff and they fell away into the background. Hopefully he won't balls this up now we have some "real" players. Blimey, yes well done Doug skillfully avoided those Irish chancers and single handedly bagged O'Neill to boot, what a chairman you are....
  16. Anybody any the wiser about the"special" meeting this afternoon at VP? Anyone been down to Villa Park and spotted lots of black expensive cars parked up? Anybody got any info???? (Jeeez, how desperate do I sound??)
  17. To be fair to the old bedwetter, it looks like he had our best interests at heart last december. The Cormers/Neville are small fry in comparison to the guy we're dealing with now. No he didn't, he pissed the deal up the wall because he didn't have the skills to professionally conclude or even progress it, which is why the Comers buggered off. Hindsight tells us the we might be on the verge of a better package now but at the time that approach was handled appallingly.
  18. And if Neville is as dodgy as he seems then, (sharp intake) thanks to Doug for not selling to him! A wolf in sheeps clothing? But, for a long while now Doug has been effectively removed from the whole process and replaced by Rothschilds (by Petchey in my opinion) - It would have been Rothschilds decision to look for a better package than that offered by Neville. Doug ballsed it up first time around last December .....
  19. Much as Neville's stock is falling in most peoples opinion, when this takeover goes through a small note of recognition must go his way for pushing the whole affair into the limelight around 10 months ago. If nothing else Nevilles initial interest pushed the clubs sale onto the radar for many prospective buyers. Who knows, if Neville hadn't expressed an interest perhaps bidders like Mr Lerner may never have come along.
  20. Isn't that supposed to be - .....The more I read about Neville the more.... Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?
