  1. In the same way that people "think" the current penal system is the best way of dealing with crime. How is that evidence?
  2. I think the fact that as punishment has become 'softer' the perceptions of crime in this country is that it has got worse (despite the fudging of figures from the Government), is evidence enough for me.

    Poppycock

has anyone e-mailed a copy to the journalist/NOTW (not that i'd expect a response)!
  4. General I posted this in another thread. Anyway, the police have been in touch today which is unusual i think (in the sense that there isn't much they can do after the event etc.) anyway, i get the feeling as it's something that may becoming a problem they want to pursue it and possibly begin evidence gathering. I was wondering if i should speak to anyone at the club at all?? Obviously a police issue in the main but i'd imagine the club would want to know if it's customers are at risk like this. Just a further note, the first sign of officialdom were some stewards outside the ground (Trinity Road/North Stand end) and there response was first class. Looked after us, got the police and made sure all was ok. Cheers!
  5. I think we pay more than enough now, thank you very much. It's just that the idiots at the top don't know how to use it properly (unless they're furnishing there 2nd homes.)
  6. http://www.youtube.com/user/Colindavies247 seriously General check this out... it's ace.
  7. brilliant. made me laugh on this dire morning!
  8. General please try to ignore some of the over reactive stuff on here with reference to barry seemingly throwing his toys out of the pram. He admitted himself that he met with Ransy and MON who told him that they wanted him to stay. I don't know what more footballers these days want. A phone call everyday from MON telling him how much he loves him? Just another example of an overpaid, pampered primadonna if the comments are true. I for one support the stane that i'm sure you will maintain, and MON has mine (and most others) 100% backing

    Ask BOF anything

BOF: I've recently split with my fiance. So when will I find the first victim of me being on the rebound?
  10. talksport - Ian Wrights show is a great listen
  11. agreed. fuel, energy and food prices have rocketed over the past few months beyond what the CPI recognises.
  12. sorry general in the whole season ticket debate this may have got missed... can you advise please?? Cheers sir!! Gen. K's quote inserted by Blandy
  13. General do the club have a "maximum" number of season tickets they will sell? i.e. will the whole ground ever be made up of season ticket holders? Or do they wish to keep a proportion of tickets for sale on a match by match basis? If so, can you tell us the numbers? As mentioned before I'm taking a year out due to work and am hoping that I will still be able to get one the year after next!! Regards
  14. General Hurry up and give us a response! What a great day. Still can't get over it... Hope you had a thoroughly enjoyable time also!
  15. How about the best from all the games against them?? Add Gabi's last minute winner, Cahills overhead kick, Super Kev's vital only goal in the first win and Hitz's screamer to that lot. Got to say Cahill's was special
  16. I was fuming watching him yesterday... he should have had 3 bookings for diving alone... his goal was a simialr scenario to his lastr dive but he stayed on his feet and scored. disgraceful behaviour and the ref had no bottle to book him for any of them.
  17. I don't see £70million as being the figure for "sufficient" personally. We have a good core - as good as any of the teams around us, just a couple of players missing. I see us needing a RB (and we wouldn't need to break the bank for a decent one) a RM and a forward. The latter 2 being the more expensive signings. So i see us needing to spend about £20million in filling those 3 positions. I think we'll spend around another £8-10million on players to give our squad strength (a CB and GK plus one other) which will be around £30million. I'd be pleased with that and added to the quality we have now, would see us push on again. I think we'll spend anywhere between 20 and 30 million and that, in my view, is sufficient.
  18. General Do you envisage there being a waiting list for season tickets over the next year or 2? I ask as i'm not going to be in a position to renew this year due to travelling committments, but will almost certainly be getting one next season (2009/10) when i'm back full-time. Best regards

    Cartoon Fantasy

she-ra (He-Mans sister) always looked laright (well when i was a kid anyway...) haven't seen her about for a while...!
  20. General Just a massive pat on the back for the team again today. Magnificent performance... So proud. My missus hates football but watched the game with me and was as nervous towards the end as the rest of us. We were unfortunate at the end, but if you want a lift find the highlights of our performance against them 2 years ago at Highbury. To say we've moved on since then would be a slight understatetment. All the best

    Alcohol

There talking about a tax hike on alcohol to curb drinking and in particular the problems it leads to when youths decide to kick off after a few drinks. Why on earth should the law abiding majority again be forced to pay out more money because of the pathetic antics of a minority? The problem is the Governments. For years and years they have let discipline in schools slip, not allow parents to be tough on their kids and restrict police in what they are able to do to prevent the problem. Kids who drink and then go on to cause a public nuisance should be severely punished to stop them committing the same offence again. It is the only way they will learn. No more second chances… The thug who killed the guy in Warrington was out on police bail!! That is not the fault of cheap alcohol; that is the fault of an incompetent Government in control of a judicial system that almost contributes to the spiralling crime. It’s time to get tough on the perpetrators of crime, not simply tax people more for the privilege of buying alcohol.
  22. thanks for the reassurance General... we trust you and Randy fully on this given your ace track record. Sure all fans of other clubs are able to communicate their feelings in the same way and get feedback from the director...
  23. I'm with everyone else I'm afraid General. A disgraceful idea and for me would be the last straw with premiership football. I think fans across the country would feel the same way and I'd hope there'd be a big enough fan movement to prevent this. Scudamore is a disgrace and has no time for the fans whatsoever. I really, really hope General that we could act as the beacon of light for fans. It may be a big ask but we don't have to be go along if we don't have to. Please let us be the ones who stand up against this and say no. It would do more for the good of our reputation than selling our soul abroad ever, ever could.
  24. General Just so you know, when people say that they're speaking "on behalf of the fans" they're not. Keep up the good work
  25. Thanks General. Would be really appreciated.
