  1. Interesting selection that. I will be interested to see Downing from the start, reckon he could be playing centrally.
  2. Guuuzaaan! That's some record he has at saving penalties but sounds like it was a poor game. Still it's a cup competition, a win's a win and we're in the quarter finals, I'm delighted.
  3. A great day to be a Villa fan and the whole team deserve credit, top marks to all. Two wins out of two against the Sky 4 after the win at the Emirates last season just shows the progress we're making. A win against Manure would make my season
  4. Awesome, that Juve team was hardly under strength but the kids did it again as they did with Porto. That's 2 Champions League teams beaten, now for Fiorentina! It's only pre-season but it will give the lads confidence going into this campaign. Hoorah!
  5. A nose just bought me a pint! Wished him no luck for next season. :winkold:
  6. Definitely renewing and joining the away scheme as well, I'm looking forward to those European nights and don't want to miss out! :winkold:
  7. I'd like to see them and the baggies come up, there's at least 2 London clubs going down and the Midlands is under represented in the top flight. The derby hoo doo has been put to bed now and we could do with 12 more points at the end of next season when we're trying to get into Europe. :winkold:
  8. Undoubtedly SHA having grown up in Solihull surrounded by noses at school. Can't stand them!
  9. Here, here, thanks General C, Randy and the rest of the board for all the recent good news.
  10. :? WTF why would the best player in the world choose to go to a football graveyard in his prime? I think they're angling for a Beckham sized wage deal to keep him in Europe.
  11. Barton had to say that after last time when he handed in the transfer request and the fans turned on him. If a club came in for him that he fancied I think he'd be off. Well he turned down Everton very recently and he's apparently from the blue half of Mersyside, I honestly think he'll be at Citeh now until the end of this season.
  12. Has to be Ron and I'll give you two reasons why, Dalian and Deano. They shared the goals about evenly though neither was prolific. I think it was the quality of the finishes which made it so entertaining to watch them (see below). Dalian's wonder goal! Deano's cracker!
  13. Fantastic, I was in the end of the West Stand closest to the shed and it looked like the Holte does from the Trinity when we are at capacity. Flags were out and the noise was superb, and the Chelsea fans had the cheek to say we only have one song. God knows what they sang before they won the league, it was all 'Stand up for the Champions!' *yawn*
  14. Good post! I was there tonight (sadly was in with the chelski scummers) and agree with the assesment, by and large we were second best throughout and it was clear that when we went behind there was only going to be one outcome. Sadly we had no cutting edge upfront and they were bossing midfield once Barry went off as McCann was the only player in the middle to emerge with any credit. Hope that it isn't too serious as we also missed Barry's leadership imo and we can ill afford an injury crisis with the games we have coming up. Just seen the replay on SSN and Carvalho is a disgrace, the knee in the back looked deliberate. Poor old Laursen is as cursed as Delaney, all in all a dissapointing night.
  15. Good evening General (or perhaps it's afternoon where you are? :winkold: ) Just to add my own welcome to you Randy and the rest of the board and thanks for everything so far. In a matter of months we are a club transformed and it has not gone unoticed; the positive PR you have carried out since your arrivals has sweapt away the apathy and created a vocal army of joyous supporters once more proud to wear our colours. The local and even the national media has picked up on this new found positivity and is reporting on MON's marvels with a string of superlatives which was unheard of in the last couple of seasons (even Mark Lawrenson has been positive!) It's excellent to see the interest you have taken in our opinions also and long may this dialogue continue along with the positive atmosphere amongst the fans. The singing from our travelling fans at Anfield was loud and long even when the team was being outplayed and unlike last season the team never let their heads drop and I hope this will stand us in good stead on our visit to Chelsea where 6000 of us will be willing us to victory. Would be nice to see you and shake your hand if you're in the shed stand that night. Welcome aboard.
  16. Reading put 3 past them tonight admittedly a weakened side but... Hyypia and Caragher have looked suspect recently and with Gabby's pace (up front please not in MF) we'll stand a chance of the odd goal. I'll settle for another draw.
