  1. Pires has been dire and just doesnt have the legs, but i give him 10 out of 10 today for having a go at that foul mouth cockney prick, was begging him to just drop one on him. i'd love ireland to come good just like the rest, but he just seems not interested, we are going to have to spend big in jan/summer. If randy and GH think the kids are going to do the job then we are in trouble, hogg is an ok player but just doesnt do anything, it was a shocking decision last night to start with delph and hogg in CM, if he was going to play delph then he needed to start petrov or reo-coker.
  2. no it doesnt make me feel good general, i have followed OUR beloved club for 28 years, and in all that time we have had the chances to move on and do something and never have, last season we got to the league cup final and fa cup semi final, every fan could see we have been short of numbers for the last 2/3 season's so what do we do in the summer, oh yeah we sell one of our best players and bring in someone that has hardly feature for his previous club. we needed to take the bull by the horns in the summer and bring in the replacments, but we havent and now we have no strikers fit apart from a 19 year old prospect, and its no shock to me that heskey and carew are injuried, they both have history of this and are coming to the twightly of there career. this doesnt change my love for OUR club, and i will support them through thick and thin, just as i think yourself and randy will, but i will say what i think and for 28 years we have always been a big club that thinks small and until this changes we will have to except the odd cup final and 6th to 10th place league finish. And before you say we couldnt stop Jimmy leave, remember he was under contract, if he didnt like that fact then he should have been sent on gardening leave till his contract he was happy to sign ran out. extreme i know but its about time teams took control back from the greedy b'stard players. i just hope than come january GH is given the funds to bring in the players we need or we could be looking at a very long depressing season. anyway cheers general.
  3. cheers for the answer general, my 8 year old has wanted the full kit, top sock's and shorts and seeing as that was gonna cost the best part of £70 and only be valid for 6 months, i shall leave it and will leave all future kits that are supplied by nike, they have well and truely shafted us. i bet arsenal and man utd didnt have this much trouble, oh and there kits were out at least a month before the season. sadly it seems we are still a big club that likes to think small.
  4. for me its dunne and collins, i'll admit when we signed the both i was chuffed to bits we got dunney, i was a little puzzled about collins, but the lad is a full blooded defender and i love how he will stick his head anywhere and throw his body on the line for the course, he was definately a great buy last year and if we can keep the niggling injuries down to a minium will be great this year. sunday for all the everton pressure i felt confident for the 1st time this season that our defence could handle what ever they threw at us.
  5. What if he only gets a contract to the end of the season? and what would the point be in doing that, come may all well have is 3 months of KMac dithering if he wants it for longer, we need to get the right man in now and really randy should just pay what it takes. Randy isnt stupid, no business man with that amount of money is, i think he knows he needs to go big on the next manager, for me its all down to how big a set of bollocks he has. the wrong manager at this point could set us back a long time, we have finished 6th the last 3 season, and as small as our squad is its still good enough to compete for the 4th/5th and 6th place. we have only missed out the last 2 years on forth as the previous manager flogged or players to death.
  6. I seem to remember someone claiming that they'd sleep with a donkey if MON left us when his odds shortened. If Moyes leaves Everton for us, I'll wine, dine and shag the donkey, then ride it round Villa Park, waving a claret and blue banner with 'I shagged this donkey because I doubted ITKs' emblazoned on it. please let him come just for the novelty valuer of seeing that down VP, what a half time show that would be can any mod/admin please save this in case it does come true :winkold:
  7. if the statement is correct then surely that rules out KMac, or is 3 games considered enough experience, i think he should be applauded for stepping in when MoN left us up shit creep without a paddle and i hope he continues his great work with the youth and the reserves. im also hoping that all this delay means were going to go big on the new manager, otherwise there's no need for it to take this long in my eye's
  8. sorry buddy this lack of transfer activity is starting to get to me
  9. I honestly am getting bored of some posters constantly repeating bollocks. i'll get my coat
  10. i dont care what the players get upto in there private life as long as they do it on the picth on game day. we all knew GOD was pissed most times he played but if you watched him on the pitch you would never know and at the time i didnt care.
  11. totally agree, randy has never denied us the money and it seems he has back MoN whenever asked and believe he will continue to. but its good business sense to get rid of the surplus before bring more in, and is why no matter what happens i think we will always be a stable club.
  12. see i dont think we do, i believe the money is there we just need to balance the wage bill beofre putting more on it, randy's statement has been take right out of context. sell to buy doesnt mean we have no cash, but it does give the signal money is tight and when buying players thats not a bad thing as i think if we sell milner now the prices will go up for who every we want
  13. no that was Twictyface about his missus when they raided his home again and confiscated his laptop
  14. Agrred, Adam Johnson's career has completely slid since he joined City. well see next season when he spends more time on the bench, which will be an absolute waste. i just can't see how you are gonna keep all these ego's happy, sure the hefty wage packet is good but most footballers want to play week in week out. i think its going to be very interesting for a lot of reason for man city. and as i said earlier if the valuation isnt meet i think he will sign an extension as i cant see city not getting top 4 minium this year and then they won't be looking at the James Milners of this world.
  15. your proberly right but like i said its just a feeling, also if he doesnt go this year i don't think man city willbe back in for him next year, if all goes to plan for them and they finish in the top 4 there sights will be set a lot higher than the James Milners of this world. they will be looking at the KaKa's etc.
  16. i really believe that if man city don't meet our valuation he will sign a new contract, and i cant see us waivering on the valuation. i don't know why but i just feel yesterday they would of sat down and proberly decided if the valuation is matched them he can go, but if come 1st september its not then he will sign a new contract even if its just a 1/2 year extension. like i say its just a feeling but this could drag on until 1st september, i hope that we have set a deadline on this transfer as we need to get on with business, aswell as knowing who will be with us come the start of the season.
  17. . The Shiekh is here for the long term. That doesn't mean he doesn't expect us to be self sustaining in a few years, but even if we aren't he'll just throw money at it until we are. There's a very real and purposeful strategy in play at City, and we're about 18 months into a ten year plan. Also, we wouldn't be in trouble as we have zero debt (which was converted into equity), and the funds to pay the contracts of every signing, even without the Sheikh. Anyway, I still don't think a sale is absolutely necessary unless one side makes a concession, and I honestly don't see either doing it yet with so much of the window remaining. Milner has a history of playing for clubs after asking for a move, and being a professional about it. Whether the Villa fans will look at it the same way and get behind though remains to be seen. what i meant was if and its a big if they decided to sell up and move you would need to find another buy with the same sort of wealth, or are you saying without the shiekh you could still afford to pay the wages that are currenlty being paid. i think not, but like you say they are in it for the long haul and i geniuely believe they are.
  18. general can i just expression my annoyance aswell at the late sales of the team shirts, i have 4 kids and 3 of which follow me and my obession with AVFC, and are wanting the new top, but seeing as it won't be on general sale till after the season has started i wont be bothering, i think its poor by the club to leave it so late especially when other teams sponsored by nike are already out. either someone at the club needs to make sure we are launched the same time as others from the same brand our we look elsewhere as we seem to be back of the cue every year when it comes to nike. sorry but its just not exceptable and no doubt you are going to be hounded with many other unsatisfied fans on this subject also just checked and arsenal's it due to be launched on the 29th july, the manchester united kit is already on general sale, surely its not good business sense to start selling the new kit after the season has started. surely this is not financally good, as no doubt that we will have a full house for the first game of the season just a shame the fans wont havew the new kit to wear.
  19. i dont blame him for wanting to go, we can all see the ambition man city are showing and sooner rather than later they are going to win the league and plenty of silverware, just like chelsea did, if they don't the arab's will soon sell up and move on and leave them in a whole lot of trouble. so i have no problem with him wanting to move, and as much as it pains me to say we are not going to be competing with them, we might win the league cup and fa cup, and i would be happy with that, we are building a side and i have enjoyed the last 4 years under MoN and Randy and can't see anything to doubt them. it may take us longer to get to the top 4 and the elusive champions league but i think its possible, just dont think its possible for us to win the league, not unless Randy follows the arab's and starts throwing around money like confetti, which he wont and im glad he won't. if milner stays he will get my support if he goes me move on like we have always done, we have lost bigger and better players in the past and will do in the future but AVFC gones on.
  20. the trouble is does anyone think that if they don't meet our valuation he would then sign a new contract, obviously they have come to an agreement today, would this be part of it or has he burnt all his bridges. for me if man city dont match the valuation then surely that says to a player that they dont want him that badly.
  21. i agree with you, but what if as i have said its just his agent pushing this and he never refused a contract, very unlikely as we know. but we all know that he sat down with MoN and Randy before then, so why not say to them there and then he wouldnt sign, as it seems to me its his agent has told our Ceo after that meeting. but like i said tomorrow at BH is going to be intersting and no doubt him and MoN are going to sit down and talk face to face.
  22. The thing is that if the transfer doesnt go through i don't think it will effect milner of villa, MoN is very passinate with certain players ie Milner, Young and Gabby to name just 3, and he see's them as his kids and is why he reacted like he did. if say tomorrow they sit down and decide if man city don't meet the fee and he definately wants to move then there maybe a compromise. is it far fetched to think that maybe what has been printed stating he hasnt refused to sign a contract, and what our CEO has told MoN is also true, and its just his agent trying to push the move, as we all know these's agent only think of themselves and the % of commission to be made. And maybe MoN's interview last week was to flush this out into the open. Also MM said he's had his head turned by the wages on offer, now how is this as we havent given anyone permission to speak to him, so is MM stating he has been tapped up and if so i think MoN and Randy will stick to the valuation no matter what.
  23. unless this meets our valuation i think it will be rejected, tomorrow at BH should be interesting and no doubt the camera's will be there. and hopefully we will no 1 way or the other whats happening as i think for both parties (AVFC and James Milner) this needs to be resolved.
