It sounded like a panic buy, we werent scoring goals , our strikers were firing more blanks than me, and ive had the snip. It wasn't hard to go and buy a player that has a great goalscoring record in the PL, its a shame it was a season to late, but randy had to protect his investment, and someone to score goals for 18-24 million was a drop in the ocean compared to what we would have lost without him and his goals. No DB39 and we'd be down with the scum.

All true mate, i said to the general back in september when houiller was appointed that we have always be a big club that thinks small and the appointment of GH was just that, it's about time we started to think big, the right appointment now of manage, can make all the difference. I hope RL is sitting there now and realising someone like ancelotte don't come around very often. I thank GH for all he has tried to do, and even GMac for giving us a little respect back with the last few weeks. If we miss this chance to really get at top draw manager then we might aswell except 9 and below for the foreseable future.

You might be able to argue this, but we have no clue what the Board's list for potential replacements looks like. so the same list as the last time

The trouble is our board will dither for the next 6-8 weeks like last time and the likes of ancelotti will be gone and out our reach. so will end up with another run of the mill manager or houiller. People can say what they like about uncle doug but he knew when to be ruthless and now is the time.

He finished above Houllier this season. Come on you can't blame houiller for that he only managed 41 games in total, with a win % of 39.0%. We should count ourselves lucky that he has graced us with his presence. if you can find me another manqager with a better record than his this season then i'd like to see it. :oops:

Because the one we have is an accident waiting to happen, plus as very good manager got sacked today for finishing 2nd. If Randy wants this bright future then he needs tro get on the phone asap for Ancelotti and Wilkins.

General. A great finish to a terrible season, you say randy reads the forums or you pass on the info. Well Ancelotti has been sacked, now go and get him and ray wilkins, and doing so the bright future will be back, also he got sacked for finishing 2nd. Enough said really as the last 2 results just paper over the cracks, its time to be ruthless.

I've got no problem with Benitez, he took Valencia to the spanish title which is no easy feat as its a 2 team dominated league. I'd like Moyes but can't really see it happening, an if ancelotti is gone as we expect then randy needs to get on the phone asap.

i wouldnt go that far but a cheeky £20 at 12/1 wouldnt be a bad bet. Also if the odds are good a £10 on MoN for the West Spam job may pay off, not that i know anything.

I agree BOF, if he does want a DOF then someone like Laursen would be a risk but why not, as not many established managers are going to work with him or a DOF. I just hope randy and the board decide asap rather than 2-3 months time.

just to throw it out there but if GH was to stay and move upstairs, how would people feel about someone like Martin Laursen as 1st team coach, its a risk but the players would respect him and the fans would support and give him time. Like i said just an idea, plus as much as i hate houllier as manager i think we need to keep him at the club in some capacity, as we have no one with football knowledge upstairs which doesn't help.

General Great team performance today, regardless of the result, it was a team effort and they have shown they can fight, but its sad that it has taken 37 games to see this. I just hope the result doesn't cloud what is still needed at the end of the season. We have the players and always have had this year, the problem has been the management team, and it requires ruthless action, the premier league is a cut throat business and there is no time for sentiment. Anyway here's to hoping the bright future is still there and not far away. :winkold:

He does exactly what it says on the tin, just a shame MoN never got him, as with DB in the team last year 4th just may of happened, and possibly a cup or 2.

I'd bring bradley on for petrov, as haven't seen any of him in the 2nd half, so can't do any worse plus should have fresh legs
