    Duran for CG as a straight swap makes loads of sense - if Duran wants out. He’s a junior McGinn and perfect rotation. That leaves us short a striker, but if it were to happen then Monchi Inc have a plan for that, too.

    Yep. There’s clearly an FFP hole to be filled by the 30th of June, so someone we probably won’t like leaving will be off. Come July the purse opens, or at least the contracts that are already arranged (by then) with new players are executed. if we are allowed the extra 30 million headroom in FFP that Villa and Newcastle are asking for, maybe that big sale can be avoided. But I don’t see the league or other teams doing us any favours..

    He’s mostly played off the bench, 7 goals 3 assists in the league, 3 goals 1 assist in CL. If we are in the market for a proper LW he might be more affordable than Nico Williams, or available on another loan (to buy?)

    Oh no sir, that’s not the case. Loan expires on 30th June and he’s back to Madrid, where the fans will boil him in oil. He’s got to be sold, and they won’t get the price they want for him (unless they want a lot less than they paid).

    I reckon the answer here is in your previous posts. Ugarte* in the 6 role and Kamara playing more like Rice does at Arsenal. *Accept that there’s no indication we are after him this summer.

    I don’t think we can afford him and Baena (unless Duran leaves) unfortunately, but he’s done well again this season with limited playing time. Would really like him here as LW and cover for Ollie if needed.

    You seem to be up to speed with youth football, what do you make of Hayden Hackney at Boro as a back up DM / Unai development project? My concern is that Kamara could miss the entire CL group stage and we can’t (imo) go through that and get anywhere without a very decent DM, even if that’s a loan player.

    If it’s financially viable, I’d hope Carlos will be playing elsewhere and have been replaced at Villa. Don’t trust him at all.

    Seem to remember KKH was called back immediately from Swindon after their game against Citeh - who apparently made enquiries. If Pep wants to drop 50M on him we might have to consider it..

    Yep, he won’t be going for cheap so don’t think we could afford to buy him and all the other work that needs doing this summer. Brilliant long term competition for Kamara, or might even play well with him.

    He’s most often played at LW this season, then LM, but also as CM, AM, and RW! Don’t think signing him would be curtains for JJ.

    No links at all but I’d not be surprised if we tried again for Ferran Torres this summer. Would be potential starter for the LW and cover in the middle or as second striker. Unai’s preferred system is 4-3-3, and Torres would be a useful jigsaw piece if he plans to go back to it.

    As I said, that £150m plus the CL money, plus whatever from player sales, plus the latitude it buys to invest further - new player contracts amortised over 3-4 years. I don’t want him to go at all, but if he did go for silly money it would radically change the financial situation at the club (I think).

    Hypothetically, let’s say Utd offered us £150m for Watkins. The PSR latitude that plus the CL money would give the owners to open the purse strings and bring in 5 or 6 quality players is massive. Does anyone want Ollie to leave? No, of course not. But there’s a tipping point financially where if the offer is big enough, the club would have to do it - and the overall team would be better for it.
