    Was at the game last night and had a brilliant view of the whole pitch, was sat behind the dugout at the front of the top tier. Mounts performance reminded me a lot of Conor Hourihane, he ran around not doing a lot and often hid instead of showing for the ball. I can only assume he gets picked for his set piece delivery which I also thought was poor for the most part. He’s been average all tournament but still remains a first choice, it genuinely baffles me. I’m not knocking Mount he’s a good player but isn’t the best player in the squad to play that position.

    No idea if we will sign him. Doesn’t seem like the new regime to chase a player they don’t think is gettable though. Think they would have already walk away without some encouragement!

    Taking his chance, he was bang average. He did one run in the first half that was decent and that was it. Shaw contributed far more from an attacking point of view than Sancho did. He ran into defenders constantly in the second half.

    That’s unbelievable. Genuinely can’t believe what I have just read. Sancho was bang average against the worst team we have faced so far. I’m not knocking Sancho, he’s great for Dortmund but was average against a slow and pedestrian Ukraine team who looked like a team who had played 120 mins in the previous round. Why even mention Grealish, it’s Foden who plays in his position. Not sure what the reason is but for a few weeks now there has been a lot of negativity about Grealish in the media and pundits in general. They were all calling for him to start prior to that. Something doesn’t add up here.

    1 player out of the 1982 European Cup winning team went to the 1982 World Cup (Peter Withe) he didn’t play a minute.

    So you think a player who plays CL football regularly doesn’t stand a better chance of becoming a regular starter as opposed to a player who isn’t? Do you think Mount would start ahead of him if their club teams were reversed, not a chance!

    My main concern is if we win the Euros, Jack will think he hasn’t really played that much a part of it and decides he wants more. Realistically he has more chance of doing that away from us. If he was a regular starter for City, he would 100% become a regular starter for England, the media would make sure of that!

    It’s a statement not an argument mate. Villa hat on I don’t want our most prized asset playing if he isn’t fit. Genuinely surprised the club have let him go if he isn’t fit. Pretty sure Smith said he was 100% fit, prior to the tournament. Him playing 90 minutes in both friendlies would suggest he was.

    Makes me laugh some of these comments. Seems a lot of our own fans are buying into the media rhetoric. I can guarantee that these pundits would be fuming not to start the next match, if they had turned the Germany game. I get not bringing him on, he wasn’t needed. If he’s not fit to start then he simply shouldn’t be there.

    I didn’t mind him not playing last night, he wasn’t needed. Don’t buy into the he would have got kicked to pieces bit though. Ukraine were awful and just gave up, their players didn’t get within 5 yards of our players. Worse team I’ve ever seen play in a major tournament QF.

    I will when we get to the final, beating Germany was a big result but come on the Ukraine are awful. Denmark will be a harder but a game we should be winning. Anything other than the final is failure in my eyes!

    I’ve got over £1300 in tickets for the semi final and final. I want our best players to play. Sick of hearing he doesn’t do enough defensively, he’s had a hand in our last 3 goals but they talk about the defensive side of his game. No wonder we have failed for so long!!!!

    Couldn’t agree more, it’s odd as he looks a completely different player for Dortmund. Play a different style which suits his game better though.

    I stand corrected, I’m not saying he’s not a good player but other than tonight when I’ve seen him, he’s not looked great. We won’t be signing him anyway so I’m not that bothered.

    I watched a fair bit of French football last season and Doku never really stood out. I can only say what I saw, like I say his stats aren’t all that. I don’t judge a player by stats though. He’s young and will improve but wouldn’t be spending 40/50m on him, like some have suggested.

    Scored 2 goals and got 3 assists last season in the league.

    Define great season. The kid looked good but his stats are pretty poor, considering the leagues he has played in.

    I couldn’t disagree more, it’s not because he plays for us, it’s because he deserves to play. How can a player who has been MOTM in half of his starts for England and have more assists than any other player since his debut not be first pick, let alone start. In the the last 3 games he’s started he has literally had a hand in all the 3 goals we have scored.

    Seems odds that all the pundits who were calling for him to start, now don’t want him in the team. He’s barely been mentioned. It’s almost like they’ve been asked not to mention him. Find it very strange the sudden turnaround, especially after his assist in the last game.

    What betting company claimed it was a done deal?

    I work in the gambling industry and the betting on transfers is literally nothing. A couple of hundred pounds in bets is enough for the odds to drop significantly. Also Talksport hasn’t got any affiliation to Skybet, they are owned by different companies now and have been for years.
