  1. Real Madrid seem pretty sure they've sold him to Middlesbrough. Otherwise he'd be a very good option.
  2. TBH I think someone's having a laugh putting Darius Vassell as a 'notable player' in the 2000's for Villa too, but there you go. Although considering in that time period he became Villa's highest England goalscorer since David Platt, he's probably worth a mention. And if the likes of Schmeichel and Solano are worthy of inclusion, Vassell certainly is :winkold: Schmeichel and Solano are in there for what they've done elsewhere - and are as such notable players. Vassell has done nothing anywhere Anyhoodlydoodle. And Baros was included why? Services to the bars of Birmingham?
  3. Missing the penalty that knocked England out of Euro 2004? :winkold:

  5. Either that, or 17 year old Villa fan Shaun Walsh is having a bit of a laugh on Wikipedia.
  6. That's my thought. Lend him to Derby or Preston...somebody who deserves him.
  7. Add me to that list. Cahill could quite well become better than all of them...but at the moment he isn't. Give him time though.
  8. At the moment (going on who is fit), Mellberg and Ridgewell. Then Laursen takes Ridgewell's place when he comes back. Ridgewell on the bench. Cahill back in the fold when Laursen next does himself a mischief.
  9. If we tie up Maloney's deal today, I will be consider that a wonderfully successful transfer window. No complaints if none come in after Maloney. Won't that just be a pre-contract though? Except for that possibility there seems as though there will be no-one else. I think the talk now is tying him up for the rest of this season for a couple of hundred thousand.

  11. Indeed. I can't remember the last time I saw such a poor left back. My Wolves supporting mate said that it was a fairly standard performance for Naylor, and was astonished that Celtic actually paid money for him. So either Strachan is a genius, or the SPL really is THAT poor. Saying that, he was great against Ronaldo in the Champions League.
  12. Yup, save two spaces on the coach for him and Milner please.
  13. Considering we now have Young, Moore and by the looks of things Maloney for that position, I can't see why he would them play Samuel there.
  14. Yes, I am pretty sure we are looking for a Gerrard/Lampard type of midfielder. Creative, but also has the ability to defend and tackle like McCann. I think MON is after a more accomplished player than McCann to fill his role. I think that's what Petrov is supposed to do. I also think that O'Neill is very happy with McCann, and that he will be in our first XI for at least another 18 months.
  15. The incompetent ones always used to.... David O'Leary's "there is a player there who wants to join us" which got the illegal approach reprimand is the one that sticks in my mind.
  16. I would rather have SWP in the summer than Milner now. I think the Milner deal is way off anyway... Come on, give us Barton and Dica!!! I'd rather have the better, more promising player. And that's Milner. But hey, let's just agree to disagree on two players we're not signing rather than turn this into the millionth Milner vs SWP thread.
  17. I hope he stays in Birmingham to work out a transfer or two tomorrow instead of going to Newcastle... Come on MON, give us a couple of midfielders. I'd much rather he went to Newcastle with the team. If he could bring Milner back with him, that would be even better.
  18. We were winning until the last minute. It was the replay that saw our usual capitulation.
  19. Yes, because the very essence of wit and humour is being amused by our last minute FA Cup exits.
  20. The Colombian Argentinian? A decent first season and now can't get off the bench? Hardly a definite success.
  21. As is often brought up when we talk about the Aimars of this world, how many Argentinans can be called PROPER successes in the Premiership?
  22. Awesome. Michael Oakes and Steve Watson it is then :winkold:
