  1. I'm not sure one relegated season in the Premiership and a few games in the Championship for West Brom really makes him 'experienced'
  2. He got 16 goals and 20+ assists last season. And it's all well and good saying "well, it was only in Scotland", but at half a million it's hardly a big risk
  3. That's possibly the thinnest straw ever that you're clutching there. I'm sure that any 'hostility' as you put it hasn't even crossed his mind. I think it's basically a case of he was asked a straight question and he gave a straight answer.
  4. I think that it's the sort of signing suggestion relevant to the previous regime.
  5. Which crazy person thought of putting random tranfer rumours in the transfer rumours thread. Madness.
  6. Without Dica, Bent and Young a top half finish is a possibility. With those three it would be a near certainty.
  7. Nope. He'll be going to Man Utd without any shadow of a doubt.
  8. Yes, but he'd have the biggest impact IMO with his creative and his physical ability. I'd still quite like our centre forward to actually score goals. We're told all the time that Angel helps the team with his 'creative and physical ability', doesn't seem to score us many goals though. Smith was ridiculously overrated at Leeds, and was clearly such a goalscoring threat at Man Utd that they decided to turn him into a defensive midfielder.
  9. Out of Harewood, Smith and Earnshaw, Smith would finish with the lowest goals tally without a doubt.
  10. Isn't it also possible that he's just not suited to the English game? No. His style is perfect for the English game. Don't be fooled by the baby face, he's a real **** hard nut. I couldn't give a monkeys what he looks like. All I know is that after looking out of his depth in the few games he has played for West Ham, two managers have now decided that Hayden Mullins is better. If "his style is perfect for the English game" then he wouldn't be playing for West Ham reserves. And to resurrect a topic from ages ago, how many Argentinians have been a genuine success in the Premier League? Only Heinze even comes close I think, and even he is struggling and about to be shipped out.
  11. Isn't it also possible that he's just not suited to the English game? As Curbishley doesn't seem to be rushing him into the first team. No shame in not being able to adapt, some players don't.
  12. Phoning? nickrogers is already standing outside with a big fat cheque to persuade Defoe to stay at Spurs :winkold: No, nickrogers is at Martin O'Neill's house with a gun to his head telling him he has to play Lee Hendrie.
  13. I didn't really think anyone would be so bloody stupid as start phoning hotels
  14. Ah, so they must be meeting in the pub around the corner from the glorious hotel? Maybe the spa bookings website I looked at wasn't the most accurate
  15. They bought them in the summer - stand up messrs Berbatov and Mido. So why would they sell the striker who is younger and has scored more goals than both of them put together?
  16. Onyewu and Dempsey are deals that were more or less completed in the summer.
  17. from skysports i doubt anyone knows a single thing about this guy I was going to suggest this chap. One of three nominations for African footballer of the year, along with Drogba and Essien. That means an awful lot of very good players who he is ahead of, in terms of how highly people rate him. Don't know much more than that, but suggests he has good pedigree.
  18. Oguchi Onyewu. He's been off to Fulham for the last two years or so I believe.
  19. I'll go against the grain then and say that I don't think we will sign anybody this week.
