  1. NB: This is the factor that determines the valdity of any views expressed by any poster on any topic. I'm glad somebody pointed out the lunacy of that comment.
  2. Dont people mean Daniel Alves, Seville right back/winger. Either way he aint coming.... You mean we're not signing Troy Alves, professional bodybuilder?
  3. Seen a lot of him, have you? I don't get portuguese football on my TV, do you? He plays for Heerenveen in the Netherlands. The point is still probably valid though :winkold:
  4. Just like Tim Cahill, Michael Dawson, Joleon Lescott, Darren Bent, Dean Ashton, and Ashley Young all played in the Championship.
  5. You'll find about 15+ pages of arguments about whether or not Sissoko is a goalscoring midfielder about 20 pages or so back, if you're interested in losing 30 minutes of your life.
  6. Well for today's first proper rumours, the Liverpool Echo says that we're going to sign both Bellamy and Kewell.
  7. What makes you say this? There has been nothing more solid on these rumours than any other, has there? well its because we are getting linked with boruc and gordon which proves that we are searching for a new keeper It proves nothing. Links like this prove only one thing, that sports journlists still have to sell newspapers even when there are no matches to comment on.

  9. I thought that was just a rumour, and we then found out that he wasn't at that one he was actually at the Ajax vs Alkmaar game which was the same night? As that article pretty much backs up.
  10. Well, forgetting last season (for obvious reasons), I seem to remember that Hughes was signed in May the previous summer, as was Laursen the summer before that.
  11. Wow, must have been a bit of a squash in that car. Unless Bellamy was driving I suppose.
  12. Except we already have a better keeper than Cudicini at the moment.
  13. Who would you say was then? If he moves this summer (and I don't think he will), I would be very surprised if he went for anything under £8 million. If MON paid 8m for taylor i'd be very very concerned. I don't think he's worth that and I don't think we'll pay that. But I do think that with all the takeovers and new TV wealth, players will be going for a lot of money this summer and comparatively more than they were going for last summer. Portsmouth don't have to sell. It will need to be considerably in their interests to do so, and thus will have to be an inflated price.

  15. Davis is a full international, taylor isn't. Stern John is a full international, Gabby Agbonlahor isn't. I still know which one would be worth more in a sellers market.
  16. Well, as the Portsmouth fans probably rate him at a similar value as we would Gareth Barry (club captain, English, same age, same position, similar goalscoring record) would we be happy with a bid of £4 million from Portsmouth for Barry? I can't see them letting him leave for much less than £10 million, much as I'd hope would be the case with Barry for us. I'm not saying I would pay that for him, but I can't see why Portsmouth would accept some of the suggested figures on here.
  17. Although, on the evidence MON is the man to 'cure' Bellamy. As BOF says, he's already done it once.
  18. On this thread you'll just got a lot of whinging about Defoe and whether Kaka is a realistic target or not, rather than a concise list of players who have actually been linked.
  19. Well he actually wasn't Link He played in 21 league games that season, going off injured in two of them. Those injuries being the ones that kept him out for the other games.
  20. He spent an awful lot of that season out injured. Many people thought that him being out was the reason that they became so bad. Not injured, dropped. Not dropped, injured. With a variety of knee and elbow injuries.
  21. He spent an awful lot of that season out injured. Many people thought that him being out was the reason that they became so bad. That poor side also finished seventh with Tommy in goal for a couple of seasons. From time to time, the British press have been known to build up young, British prospects to a higher level than they really warrant. I think Foster could become an excellent keeper. But as has been said, the keeper for the team that always loses has a lot of opportunities to look amazing. If they save eight shots but concede four goals, they can look stunning. See Stefan Postma vs Arsenal a couple of seasons ago. The mark of a great keeper in my opinion (as someone said earlier) is to sit there and have nothing to do all game, and then pull of a great save in the last minute as Sorensen did against Liverpool and West Ham.
  22. And even if you did, you probably wouldn't want to give your name.
