  1. Denis, what on earth are you on about? Sam was just saying that it's strange that all of these imaginary links are for strikers and defenders, rather than for the one position on the pitch where we don't have a single recognised player, and we're resorting to playing either a striker or a central midfielder there. And he's right, it does seem odd that the rumours that are coming out aren't mentioning the one position where we're crying out for a first-choice player.
  2. Agreed, someone like Nugent would be pretty ideal to lead our line for the second half of this season.
  3. There have been rumours in certain quarters that a deal for Nugent has all but been signed.
  4. Not quite as badly as Portsmouth, who actually own Andy Griffin.
  5. And we may not either. And they'll be in Serie A by the time he is playing for them.
  6. There not promoted yet , carnt see him wanting to go to a division 2 side personally , Also i am quite suprised that no one had said much about Luca Toni , isnt he still at struggling Fiorentina I'd imagine they are pretty certain to come up, if they are 2nd at the moment after starting with minus points then they must be finding Serie B easy. I'd imagine the competition isn't as high as the Championship in this country. Well to be fair, If Man Utd were relegated and given a points deduction, I'd still think they're be more or less favourites to come up without too many problems.
  7. Yeah, it must be. Even though we know that it's true and has been on record for months. Hence why i put probably. 9 times out of 10 he lies so you can forgive me for believing it when i see it for anything to do with our ex-chairman. We know it's true, it's been publicised at length over the last year in various media outlets and yet it's "probably shite"? :? Edit: Back on topic would probably be best IMO...threads that have Ellis brought into them don't have the best recent track record :winkold:
  8. Well....it was during his tenure that it was purchased by the club. Rather than getting into an argument about whether he got the money out of his own bank account.
  9. Yeah, it must be. Even though we know that it's true and has been on record for months.
  10. I'd be happy with £10 million, and delighted with £15 million. I'd be amazed if it were anymore than that.
  11. True, but I'd bet we'll see José insisting that he goes somewhere smaller (à la Duff to Newcastle) to make sure that he doesn't go to an immediate rival.
  12. Top stuff. I wonder if anyone outside of Birmingham will consider it newsworthy.
  13. That would be wonderful, if true. Not just another of your fantasy 'Appiah/SWP' teams though Maz? :winkold:
  14. Well, you know....share the wealth and all that. Put it this way, if we don't sign him (and I don't think we will) then it must be for one of the following reasons. 1) Martin O'Neill doesn't know about him 2) Martin O'Neill doesn't rate him/can't fit his style of play into our formation 3) We can't afford him 4) A bigger or better team wants him/he doesn't want to join Villa. I would say that the most likely of those is the fourth one.
  15. Well I'm afraid I just don't agree with that. Fair enough. I am willing to put a large amount of money on the fact that Huntelaar will not be a Villa player any time in the next 2 years :winkold:
  16. If he becomes available, bigger clubs than us will be in for him. He will be going to a Man Utd/Chelsea/Milan/Lyon level of club, not a Villa level of club. Simple as that.
  17. Only in some people's wishful thinking I've been suggesting him for a while. Not an unrealistic target. Certainly not a target we're going to get.
  18. Because the Defoe one has now been turned into another pointless Angel argument, and they are very highly valued.
  19. Crazy people. I don't think it's something we need to worry about too much though
