    I'm fairly sure that Gardner were available for the £450,000 that West Ham paid for him at that age then there would be an awful lot of interest. Maybe the fact that there is lots of interest in one player but nothing another is affected by factors other than the quality of the player? Their availability perhaps? Manchester Utd decided to sign Ji-Sung Park and not Gareth Barry. So by the same logic, that must mean that Park is better than Barry.

    Because the manager of the England U21s in an incompetant waste of space. Anton Ferdinand plays for them ahead of Cahill, does that make him better? Downing plays for England ahead of Barry, does that make him better?

    Was he better at age 20 than Gardner is now? Nope I cannot remember can you? I can. He was alright. Raw, but certainly nothing special. At the same age, Gardner looks much better than Reo-Coker did then.

    We can do what we like, right now. As various other clubs are doing. They can't play for us until the beginning of their contract on July 1st, but as we don't have any games until after then, the window is open and ready for business.

There has been nothing more solid on these rumours than any other, has there? well its because we are getting linked with boruc and gordon which proves that we are searching for a new keeper It proves nothing. Links like this prove only one thing, that sports journlists still have to sell newspapers even when there are no matches to comment on.

    I thought that was just a rumour, and we then found out that he wasn't at that one he was actually at the Ajax vs Alkmaar game which was the same night? As that article pretty much backs up.

    Well, forgetting last season (for obvious reasons), I seem to remember that Hughes was signed in May the previous summer, as was Laursen the summer before that.
