  1. interesting snowy because you and I would agree with a lot of that of course all still based o the markets but tunrig the PO into a natioal bank is such an obvious one
  2. ye all that is true Gringo, what is also rue is no one from any party or economic theory has the answers .... this is unique no set answers or remedies for it
  3. Hi General, sorry to have a moan at the club but this is a strong one personally for me. What is the club doing accepting that we should kick off at 7PM for the CSKA game ? It is a stupid KO time and we should never have agreed to it for whatever money the TV company will pay. In all likelhood the clubs acceptance of this means I am unlikely to attend and I think a few thousand others may be in the same position. After 2.5 years of Randy being in charge this is the first time I have felt angry and disappointed at the club because for me there is no logical reason whatsoever for this game to start then except for money. Cheers, Ian
  4. no most rational people say this is a global recession where you live Gringo is arugably having it worse remember when the german finance minister had a go at Brown and now his own government are following the same plans there is no other major country not doing the same
  5. already have, my cousin drives for them got made redundant a few weeks back they supplied Woolies .... opps
  6. said it before but it is often the case if you have a dominant scorer like Torres was last season you rely on him far too much, therefore you have to find other ways of scoring and amend your play because take Torres if he is on the bench he must be fit surely so for me it is a deliberate descion not to play him at villa we have the method of scoring from anywhere and the opposition we do not relay on a single player therefore losing Carew is not a big loss but losing another would be.
  7. oh and to those who think somehow it is only this country in trouble apparently tomorrow or Wednesday Germany will announce a huge economic stimulus package this will mean increased borrowings apparently let me remind you that Germany is a centre right government
  8. did we relegate Blooz last season ? ok mathematically not but in their own minds ?
  9. You think? IMO they have played their best stuff with Anelka on his own... maybe and Chelsea have never players with two up front but Anelka is a strange guy will score loads but contributes little to the team, unlike Carew he does not give tyou anymore than poure goals and when those dry him Anelka is a waste fo time At least when Carew plays badly he is still something of a nuisance value
  10. Ian you have been told many times its a prolapsed disc.....I'm sorry to disaapoint you but the Lap dancing junk is a what it is junk. ....it seems like that you just don't beleive a simple explanation. Another thing that might annoy you is that he a very popular guy at the club. I have been told nothing by the club but by you as an ITK, sorry but we all take ITKs with a pinch a salt on here and why would that annoy me ? check out what I have said about Carew and you will find the basic difference is that I simply do not rate him as highly as some, but no way would I want him to go without a better replacement. that goes for every player
  11. I would really liek to think so ... but the fact is we knwo little abotu what is wrong that leads to the kind of speculation I have mentioned but nothing like that on Vital
  12. vital Villa but please anyone do no replicate it here as it would be libellous at thsi stage
  13. yeah I read that all BS and rumour we can not replicate here and I surprised that thread is still up
  14. but if we win a fair nnumber of our next 4 (and we should) we will be way in front and uncatchable
  15. can't answer this poll because it i not a simple yes/no answer like with any player injured we miss them all but clearly the results have not been affected, in fact been better
  16. 4/5th and when peopel start using luck against us then they have lost the plot if anything I woudl say losing 4 starters for a number of games we won and drew was 'unlucky'
  17. yep Bicks, and the dollar has weakened because the situation over there looks very very poor
  18. all week because it wet too low considring how poor the states and eurozone are ... a few months ago it was too high, such is the free market, which is only there to provide profit for thoe doig feck all except to buy and sell items they never hold !
  19. turn that around by saying if the Tories were i charge you woul be claiming it was a global problem, it is , I psoted about Spain, major banks in Holland, Belguim and Germany all bailed out to deny the MAJOR factor is not global defies belief the tories are desperate to label this as a 'local' problem where it is clearly not vince Cable accept that and he is the ONE polticia it seems most like no with China and India where labour costs are so much lower are you suggesting we compete by paying their wages ? are you suggestig we should have nationalised some companies to protect them ? recovering as it has become clear that everyone is in trouble and short sellers made their profit
  20. well i'd argue It is the result of domestic policies and problems that could, and should, have been alleviated but which were allowed to fester ..but I guess we all have different view points A healthy dose of private sector expertise is required to advise on how to plan and execute major capital spending projects ..IMO .... and that also means aggressive and strategic reform of the public sector, not a cack-handed crack at balancing the books while the economy collapses domestic polcies ?? so we had control over US banks lending to the very poor who would never pay the recession started in the credit crunch in the US the world accepts that private sector so called espertise got us to where we are now ?? BTW Network rail in it;s former guise was a private company they made a complete **** up of the upgrades didn't they ...
  21. how many recessions under the Tories have we we had ? Whose to say it made it worse ? , we don't really know what reaction a different course of action would have caused ?? and as prevously mentioned we came out of it strong so you can argue the medicine was worth swallowing ?? only if you subscribe to what i believe is a flawed yardstick for measuring recession .... 2 recessions tony and you knwo it, everyone accepts the know measure of two consective quarters of GDP decline what do you measure it by ? Iteresting bit from Rober Peston's Blog
  22. Did he have a go at him for bank recapitalisation though? I thought it was only about VAT. I'm not sure (hence my question). well he was on about the whole thing about increased public debt ... Germany clearly will have to do the same as their export markets shrink how many peopel buying BMW's, Merc's etc ?
  23. totally 100% **** agree Ian, those who adovcate the private sector are the ones who have led to this ... and that includes all governments of all colours the notion of less states control when the governments have had to save numerous large banks is benusig to say the least BTW are we really the worse off country from the bbc
  24. is it ? i don't actually know tbh ... ( btw , i thought their policy was to do nothing ??)you asked me my solution and I just tried to throw a few solutions around based on common sense approach really I hadn't read back and seen Richards reply but if it was similar to mine then he's clearly a smart man :-) it is tory policy, osbourne said it this week, tax cuts to be paid for by public spending cuts always is Tory philosphy in a recession, it always makes them worse a recession is about the decline of GDP onviously, how does cutting some of the 40% of GDP help ? remember most of the major borrowing is now on the banks, you say we should not over borrow so shoudl we not have bailed out the banks because HBOS and RBS were close to going ? BTW remember the german finance minister who had a go at Brown well yesterday they took control of 25% of commerzbank, their 2nd largest one as part of recaptialisation
