Isn't the difference that other clubs go for know quantities of players, everyone for example knows what Heskey is like but Bruce is backing his judgement, I mean when was the last time we brought a current England International ? But we go for possibles and unknowns (no disrespect for Laursen but no-one knows if he can play in the English league). Last season DOL's signings were known quanties and he got the best out of them the new signings are different.

players should deserve respect and support once we have seen their performances for us on the pitch. I can not see a problem in someone saying they think Cole is no good and shouldn't be brought thats their view. But no-one should judge him for Villa until we have seen him play. Anyway hopefully if Vas and JPA are on fire he won;t be seen anyway !!!

Couple of points. One a cheap signing no commitment to any possible sale but if we brought him would Cole cost anymore than a million pounds anyway, seems a signing of a player who could be very good but DOL is not entirely certain. I hate loan signings they never seem to work in general and on the part of the loanee he can not be really committed could he, also Cole's reputation is a bit of a worry I thought we were getting away from these type of players ?

rubbish, it was not a crap showing first ever quarter final on foreign soil. The plain fact is that we have no midfielder in this country who can keep hold of a ball and pass it to a bloke in the same shirt. They are all hustlers and bustlersand that is what our football encourages. At international level our game is not sosphicated enough

missing an option, how about listening to Tony Butler and George Gavin on BRMB going barmy whilst playing football .....
