  1. There are/were four things to challenge for: League, FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League. For me a successful season would mean that you win something, otherwise how can you be called a success without winning? Doesn't make sense. Now we have to be realistic at the same time. We aren't, much against my heart, going to win the league. Just ain't going to happen, at least not yet. We are going to struggle challenging on all four fronts, that is a lot of games and we don't quite yet have the squad to do this. This requires the money that comes with being successful and we get whole chicken/egg situation. So how can we be successful? I think for this season to be a success, we need to get to the next step. This is clearly Champions League football as this will provide the income to help the team get better and better. Absoloutely no question. I am old hearted though and wish to see Villa actually win something. In addition in order to get use to success we have to be able to maintain the runs in the cups/europe etc So for me I would say to be a successful season, we need either 4th or win the FA Cup. We had a fantastic run in the League Cup and our European campaign had the life span of a Daddy Long Legs. I can that we have made up for Europe for the rest of the season, the cup runs are great and we are still in competition for 4th. We are 90mins away from another Wembley game and potentially 180mins away from another final. To me this has already been a good season and it could still be even a great season. MON is no question for me the right man for the job and to take Villa forward. It won't however be a truly successful season for me however till we see Villa's name on a trophy.
  2. Currently listening to a band called **** Up. Got the latest cd from zavvi for £4.80 and I am pretty impressed. Very decent hardcore.
  3. Heart says 1st, brain says 5th, as mouth is closer to brain I'll say 4th. Really do think it is possible, but if not almost certain 5th, can't really see Everton catching us and certainly no one else below them.
  4. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon... Sexy, very, very sexy....
  5. Owen would be my prefered choice atm, I think his injury proneness has been due to Newcastle and I think that we can fix that. My only issue would be wages, and I don't think MON would want to pay Owen what he wants, if he wants the mone, expect Owen to go to Man City in the window. However if he wants a challenge I think we may have a very good chance of signing him. Ashton would also be very good, although again there is the injury issue, though again I think West Ham have the same problem as Newcastle. And Heskey is far better than Harewood and although I wouldn't be over the moon signing him, he would be decent none the less. Crouch, no, no, no NO!!! So overated, just no. There was a reason why we sold him last time and it still applies.
  6. Acrassicauda - Underworld Iraqi Heavy Metal!!! Pretty good actually worth checking out: Careful, it's myspace! Though I think Iranian Heavy Metal is slightly better: Angband
  7. The Stooges - T.V. Eye Someone at work lent me Funhouse, man that's a damn good album! So good I went and got it myself!
  8. They're obviously fans of Blackadder! Well when another of their songs is "Heavy as ****" don't think they are the most serious of bands!
  9. Witchsmeller Pursuivant - In The Sweat of Thy Face Little Belguim band playing good old fashion Heavy Metal. Wicked
  10. Oh yeah forgot about Rage. Definately prefer Metallica but would very, very very much like to see Rage.
  11. Reading I think managed to beat Download with just one band: Metallica. Pretty much all the bands that played Download are playing Graspop and after '05 and '06 Downloads I just wasn't in the mood to horribly ripped off for watered down piss water and dodgy burgers. Reading I think has a lot better general atmosphere as well. At Download it seemed it was either old people who were alright but didn't really do much or a load of c**ts who want to destroy everything. Fun... Reading always seemed more relaxed when I went but both have been thrown aside since went to Graspop last year. Was quite tempted by Wacken but it sold out before I could convince mates to go who aren't quite into metal as me but I think thats the bonus with Graspop as they have a fair few Rock bands as well (no Indie though thankfully...). Also relatively tempted by Bloodstock but all bands again are playing Graspop pretty much so we shall see.
  12. It's summer time and the weather is fine (if you leave the country that is) and everyone knows that summer (bar mass transfer gossip) is about festivals. Waking up groggy because youve slept on the ground with a pair of jeans as a roll mat, only to be greeted with a beer! Then the day progresses with beer, beer and more beer. Maybe some ffod too. Oh and apparently theres music too. Oh happy happy days. So where you going/been? Me: I'm going to Graspop Metal Meeting in the loveley Belgium next week. Went last year and it was amazing. Good music, good food, fantastic beer and probably same value/slightly less than a festival over here. Plus its about 100 times better. Can't wait to go again. Graspop
  13. Maiden = legends.Fact. AC/DC legends as well but Maiden all the way.
  14. tbf I think (in all seriousness) the best person for them would be Coleman. He would get them out of their inevietable relagtion scrap. However that would be too smart for them now wouldn't it?
  15. Ten Masked Men - Livin La Vida Loca A Death Metal cover of the "classic" Latin song... Done surprisingly well...
  16. Kylesa - Hollow Severer RA RA RASPUTIN!!! Awesome band Turisas are. Putting some fun back into metal.
  17. cyrusr

    scary movies

One was alright, funny. Two was pretty poor. Three really really bad... Haven't watched four because it looked worse than three... Now they are making five??? Time to go hunting in Hollywood...
  18. Slayer - Angel of Death Absolute classic :notworthy:
  19. Yeah Iced Earth are great, can't wait to see them support Heaven and Hell in november.
  20. Iced Earth - Setian Massacre Off the new album Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1). Quite an epic sound (as with most Power Metal) and is certainly growing on me.
