Prettysure it's was out of season just after MON started............me must of knew before hand that Lerner was in From what I remember it was close to the start of the season so only Petrov was bought as a main signing. Plus Young and Carew in January. But the squad was no where as bad as our current squad in my opinion. Yes they struggled the season before but they managed to finish 6th the year before that and we still had players like Bouma, Laurson, Mellberg, Barry. It's going to be a hard season regardless of takeover but at least if I happens it will give the current squad a lift.

There could be something in that last part. Seems strange for Lambert and Lerner to put the 'bomb squad' back in contention unless the order has come from elsewhere.

I do not think there will be a takeover because of a combination of the asking price, the amount of money needed to make us competitive and profitable and also FFP.

Hang on. My opinion is there will be no takeover and we will get relegated without it. I am finding positives in the scenario in which I think will happen. How is that not positive thinking while being realistic?

Actually I'm starting to think what is the fun in battling relegation every year? At least in the Championship we will win games and there is a chance of a Wembley appearance via play offs. It's not like we are ever seeing good football in the Premier League.

Anyone knows why Miranda and the Atletico right back weren't called up to the Brazil squad? That pisses me off for some reason. What more can players do than be part of the best defence in La Liga and Europe?

It's good to be positive in life but I think a lot of people are going to be very disappointed when a takeover does not happen this summer. Next year is going to be our toughest as a Villa fan since in the mid 80s IMO.

this is just another name in the mix of many, so who says he's defo interested. i think we'll have to wait and see where this lottery ends up and who is the eventual winner. i'm guessing it could be someone we haven't heard of yet........UTV So would he be classed as an American buyer?

It cracks me up how the guy has been judged not worthy due to a few dodgy articles. I wonder what fans what have thought if Ambramovic was taking over. If this guy is as bad as some of the articles make him sound he hasn't got a chance in hell of passing the fit and proper test. So relax guys. Villa is still owner by a 'decent' person at the moment and although we continue to decline, we can do it with a clean conscience.

Who cares if the guys a bit dirty. Lerner was squeaky clean and look how that turned out. Ambramovic is as dodgy as they come and we would all love someone like him to own the Villa.
