  1. Looks like the players have got their own way. Have another cigar boys. The squad and club have let him down. I don't blame him for our position. Unfortunately though it will always be the manager in the firing line and this is the way it is. Let's hope we can move forward. There are a few things that I hope come out of this: 1. Obviously the correct appointment of the next manager. I really do not have a clue who that could be though. We have tried Sherwood who was friendly with the squad. We've tried Garde upping the ante in the training. We've even got Roy Keane in to get them fired up and even he couldn't gain respect. So good luck because I am not sure where to turn. 2. Some of the players must follow him out the door. Lets hope this sacking is foreshadowing the future of these prima donnas. If we are having a ruthless evaluation the attitude of this squad, this season must be assessed and kicked out for good. No clean slate because we will back to square one within months. 3. Now our senior players can relax a bit they might pick up a few points between now and the end of season. I am fed up of watching us week in week out with the attitude on display so maybe we might now have something to cheer about. However, although I want to watch us win if we start performing there might be a little part of me annoyed that by throwing a tantrum and proving a point the players have got us relegated. Regardless of professional pride, the club and the fans. Same as Sherwood before. No animosity from me what so ever. I wish him all the luck unless he crosses paths with the mighty Villa. I thank him for being the only one to face the media and speak to us honestly amidst this crisis.
  2. I fear this is the nail on the head. It backs up the rumour that Gabby, Lescott and Richards further fell out with Garde because after the Liverpool game he left them to waiting in the changing rooms. Apparently they kicked off because they thought Garde should of strormed in and had a go at some of our foreign contingent because it was their fault.
  3. Professional pride. The Leicester players have it abundance. We do not. Our captain and club captain are currently smoking cigars and partying until the early hours in Dubai. These are the players that are supposed to lead by example. I could imagine some captains rallying the troops for extra training if they were going through a rough patch. There are echos of Bacuna talking about his escape route to Champions League football. The problem is there is some top players in the Under 21 squad but I fear they could be poisoned in this environment. Arguably like Grealish has. Leicester, Bournemouth even Watford have professional pride, desire, hunger and act as a team. We have egos, lazy and passionless individuals looking after their own agenda whilst taking no responsibility for their performance. There is a reason why clubs have kept Micah Richards at arms length. Look at Vardys desire and commitment to get where he is now. Our lot haven't got that drive. Albrighton is a prime example of the criteria Leicester are looking at in players. Look at his time here. He has always been a hard worker, very professional, he never once complained when he was dropped even when he was one of top performers. I remember speaking to someone close to him when Duverne came here for his first spell and he said Marc and the other youngsters thrived in the driven training sessions because although it was hard work it was pushing them and eventually making them better. But as you can imagine the senior players with Gabby in toe hated it and rebelled. I also know of Roy Keanes time here and even he couldn't gain any respect. There is a reason why players like Albrighton are where they are now and there is a reason we are where we are now and believe me when I say it is not all the managers fault.
  4. I forgot football could be entertaining!!!!! Get in!
  5. They should consider a centre back partnership of Lescott and Richards.
  6. True! To be fair Butland could of threw it out himself and he his naive to think Germany would do him any favours.
  7. Should Germany of kicked it out of play then though? I know the referee has to stop play for an outfield player but surely if a keeper is injured it is a different story and a touch of sportsmanship wouldn't go a miss. To have a pop when he is injured seems a little harsh. They should watch Di Canio v Everton.
  8. I'm confused by that post as I've never mentioned nationality has any significance on a managers ability. In fact I used Bournemouth as a club who are moving forward with Eddie Howe at the helm.
  9. Favouring reform as opposed to wishing things to maintain the same. He has tried to up the ante in training to work on fitness. He has worked with and shown an awareness of the youth system. He even sent Gabby off to Dubai. Incidentally when we had an upturn in form. Maybe a coincidence. He has tried to implement a style of play we could build on in the future. Also worth remembering he hasn't had the opportunity to ship out the troublesome players in the dressing room. However I'm not stupid it is a result business and if the players aren't willing to move with this he will fall on his sword. I don't blame him entirely for that though.
  10. When Garde was appointed I think the majority of people looked at it as a positive. For me the main reason for this is that he is progressive, intelligent manager and had proved that at Lyon. Remember this is a team a mainstay in the top 5 and competing in Europe. A credential of manager we will no longer be able to attract. We're seemingly stuck in the dark ages with players unwilling to budge and we need to be dragged out of it. Bournemouth are a fine example and there are many more this season whilst we are being left behind. Garde is keeping a close eye on the Under 21s with Green, Lydan etc. getting game time and this is I think is a high priority for a bright future. This has been a problem for a while with players reaching the Under 21s then hitting a brick wall. I don't blame Garde. Obviously he is not blameless but with his impending sacking my anger is towards the players. The attitude and unwillingness to apply themselves for me is unforgivable. They have revolted against Garde and in doing so relegated us. This angers me. Sources have that he has found it difficult to translate the importance of keeping Aston Villa F.C in the league!!!!! If that is difficult for them to digest I don't want them to wear the shirt again. But anyway well done lads. It looks like you have got your way and got us relegated whilst proving your point. Good luck to the next manager because Sherwood used the pal method and it didn't take long until other obstacles arose. Remember them complaining about it being difficult to play at Villa Park because of the fans? We will be back at square one and the same problem will arise down the line. A quick fix is not the solution to our problems.
  11. The so called curse! Pochettino has just won manager of the month. Villa win.
  12. The amount of times I've used the line "at least it will be cheaper next season". That was one of my few straws to grasp at. Now next season it looks like going to Man City and Chelsea will be cheaper than going to Ipswich and Leeds. Our timing is terrible.
  13. We are bottom of the league with the amount of distance covered throughout the season. Garde addresses this and implements some fitness based training methods. The players don't like it. Maybe it isn't conducive to top banter or is too hard work. Gardes fault..... No. Further evidence Houllier tries to up the anti in training Gabby leads a revolt. The list goes on. Roy Keane feels the player need to be showing more professionalism you guessed it player revolt. We are going in circles with sacking managers constantly. We will be in the same position in 6 months time if we don't allow someone to do a full clear out. I'm the first to to say we need a reshuffle at the top but I think the players are hiding behind that discontent. The only one person at the front answering questions is Remi Garde and I honestly believe it is not his fault. This has been a long time coming.
  14. Be careful what you wish for. Reports today suggest he is going come summer and Steve Bruce is the number one target. Another summer of a fresh start for these same tired players and in time we will be back at square one. I'd sooner back Garde and give him the reign to overhaul the squad as he sees fit in hope he will have identified the problems within. I fear if we don't do this we are going to continually going around in circles with short term solutions to long term problems. I'm fed up of it and I would like to give someone the opportunity to build something to be proud of with a future. Similar to what Pardew did at Southampton. Ultimately whether Garde is the man for this time would only tell. I think this is what needs to happen but still blaringly obvious is a manager whoever it may be will most likely have hands tied by the board.
  15. You can't implement a siege mentality when people like Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott and Gabby Agbonlahor are ruling the roost. The captain, vice and club captain of this club. One of which mindset lies with 'allegedly' winding up his own fans by tweeting a picture of his car after a 6-0 defeat. I don't think he has threw the players under the bus in anyway what so ever. If anything I think Remi could be accused of being a little lenient on them in the media. He identified the need of a goalkeeper and striker in January a transition he should of been backed with. The one area he was close to improving was pulled due to a strange F.A coherence to work permit red tape that would of been over looked for many clubs. It is also worth mentioning Garde has been unlucky with injuries and also it could be argued if some referees would have done their job we might be in a different position. I am and will defend him for now. Any manager needs his own players who he can look in the eye and trust. He hasn't had that to add to an already difficult task. Not only this he is seemingly dealing with a player mentality that has been rotting away at this club for many years.
  16. Very true! I suppose Gabby used to run defences raged at one point. With current form though I'd take a few games/months of some form of commitment from a youngster with the risk of him becoming successful and the tribulations which that brings.
  17. Rashford scores 2 in Europe and 2 against Arsenal whilst on £500 a week for Man Utd. He is now looking at an improved contract of £15,000. Meanwhile Gabby strolling on £65,000 a week..... I just can't work it all out. It's all confusing. Do you not pay for what you get?! I've defended him but I no longer can. Anyway no one will match his wages and he has got years on this deal so he won't make it easy. He has cruised for too long so it about time Sellars and co. we're given a chance.
  18. If these players aren't playing for Garde they don't deserve to play for anyone. They are employed by Aston Villa and should play for the club, the fans and themselves. ReGARDEless of there feelings of Remi. It is called being professional. Anyway they loved Sherwood and look how that worked out. They're idiots. For all we know Remi has pinpointed the rot and might be hoping to ship out Guzan, Lescott, Richards, Westwood, Gabby etc. but has not had the opportunity. He hasn't even been able to filter them out with the January fiasco. Whoever is manager next season please get players who will play with an ounce of pride.
  19. Will be the most costly signing Villa have ever made. Balaban cost £6 million or so but the cost of Micah will out way much more than that. Of course there are others to point fingers at too but he indicative of this teams attitude and is leading us in the dark with his arrogance, lack of desire and lack of respect for this club.
  20. Disgusting. This is not about Lerner. We all know something needs to change but it does not excuse the displays we are having to endure week in week out. No professional pride what so ever. We will get the same drivel from Micah but I seriously think the Under 21s or even Hednesford Town would put up more of a fight. I've never disliked a Villa player as much as Richards. I'd rather have Alpay at the back. Big changes are needed because it is embarrassing. They should be ashamed but as long as they have their nice cars they're happy.
  21. The sad thing is if we had some pride we could still get out of it the way teams are losing but with this shower there is no chance. I honestly think Walsall would of made more of a fight of the run in. They look so sorry for themselves. They should try watching themselves and paying for the privilege if they want something to be down about. Remember when Sunderland lost 8-0 to Southampton and they payed for the away travel as way of apology. We get a tweet of Frankensteins car and the same old we worked hard from Micah. Selfish, arrogant human beings.
  22. I don't think I've ever hated a Villa team as much as this shower. The whole club needs sorting but the professional pride on display is not Garde or Lerners fault. They should be embarrassed of themselves. No pride! Even if not for the club for themselves and their future. Disgusting and I am ashamed.
  23. Yes! I am so glad I wasn't the only one angered by Micah Richards post match comments. He almost shrugged his shoulders and talked about the quality of Lennon and Everton being too much for us minnows. Lennon a player who has been on the periphery for a while, struggling to get a first team place whilst Sherwood spoke of Richards going to the Euros in the summer. He could prove to be to worst signing this club has ever made and his arrival has exacerbated a lazy, passion less pit of woe of a mentality that has been eating away for a while. As someone has previously said there is a reason he was never getting a stretch in any team. He keeps saying how they tried and showed fight this after a 3-1 loss at home. Is that the same fight he said they were showing that led to a 1-1 draw with Wycombe. He speaks like we are a Conference side putting up a good fight. Who are you trying to kid?! I don't buy it. You're captain of Aston Villa F.C. Act like a captain! How about trying to integrate the new players instead of doing naughty santa videos? As for his beloved Man City he sounded like he didn't want to play it. Show some pride. There are League 2 players who would love to play at the Etihad because they would see it as an opportunity. The attitude stinks. If it is true about Gabby ruling the roost then I fear in Richards and Lescott he has a few sidekicks. Reports say they aren't happy with Gardes training as it is too much fitness based. A team bottom of the league with by far the lowest distance covered in the distance complain about working on fitness. It doesn't work like that you bunch of idiots. Everyone is hiding. The board hide behind the manager and the players hide whatever way they can. I agree with a previous post about Joe Cole. For what it is worth I would of gave him the armband and put him in the centre of the park. Leicester, Watford, Bournemouth are not exactly littered with £30 million players but they are above us. Maybe because they have some professional pride. The attitude stinks and they are getting quite an easy ride with our discontent towards the board. I can't wait for it to be flushed out and get some pride back in the place but I fear with these clowns on cushty contracts picking up an easy pay cheque it might take a while.
