    Good spot Paddy, I hadn't noticed that, good to see Hogg there, he hasn't been involved in the other friendlies and I was worried we'd let him go.

    Good to see Collins and McGurk getting hat-tricks in their pre-season friendly against Boldmere. I think these two could be prolific this season.

    Absolutely fantastic news, that's brought a big smile to my face. He's been out for what 2 years? To come back and score will be the best feeling in the world for that young fella, friendly or not!

    Depends; the kids if anything seem a better bet at the moment. I'd put Collins on and maybe Lichaj too, can't do any harm can it?

    Another cross poorly defended by the sound of things. A bit of sorting out to do. MON won't be happy with that, throughout his career he's had teams that have been strong in the air particularly at the back.

    As we speak, someone is driving a thousand miles with Jack in the passenger seat describing French scenery and how his French teacher at school always wore a jumper with trees on it and isn't it funny how jumpers are sometimes called sweaters even though you wear them when it's cold so you don't sweat in them. A thousand miles. Poor bastard.

    Marc Albrighton is impressing again. Not sure how he'll get onto the pitch once Milner is back, especially with Ashely Young being an option on both sides once Downing is fit, but I'm sure he'll prove a very useful player at some point during this season.

Subs: Elliot Parish, Eric Lichaj, Shane Lowry, Matthew Roome, Adam McGurk, Dominik Hofbauer, Chris Herd, Ciaran Clark, Andreas Weimann, James Collins. He's right, neither Young was in consideration for tonight.

    Hmm. We looked a bit vulnerable on Saturday and we've conceded here, it'll be interesting to see how we react.

    I notice Jonathan Hogg hasn't been involved in these two friendlies, does anyone know if he's injured? Sounds like Albrighton has made a very good start on the OS.

    Yahoo sport seem to have jumped the gun, he's definitely a Villa player and he's playing in this one.

    That formation looks about right. Harewood isn't actually too bad at playing up front on his own, he's a really good nuisance and he'll allow people to join in, a lot of pressure on Sidwell in that side though as I can't see Osbourne or Reo Coker getting into the box to support him.
