I think Sherwood is a hilarious guy and passionate, some of the stuff he said when at spurs and how genuinely angry he got when people questioned him or players looked like they weren't giving there all was refreshing. It's not about personalities or experience or wages or anything other than being committed and in-form. If he can get 11 players in our squad commited and in-form for 12 games then we've got a much much better chance of staying up. Edit: and he would do that. Better than most other candidates. And isn't a short-term option, he'd be good moving forward. Anyone who thinks that Lambert would have done similar or better than Sherwood did at spurs is deluded at this stage.

We've got no hope in hell against stoke or Newcastle. Absolutely not a chance. So it's all down to derby day against WBA, by which point we'll probably be playing to avoid hitting the bottom of the table as much as getting out the relegation spots.

I'm led to believe that the loan recall was related to family issues and he's now happy to go back up there, but didn't want to be so far from brum due to personal matters at the time. Bad timing purely due to the fact all Prestons decent strikers went missing or injured as soon as he hit some sort of form. I think until the private matters it was always planned he'd spend all season up there. I'm sorry if this information takes away one of those sticks to hit Lambert with.

We should go for Ricky van wolfswinkel. A striker that is utterly useless in front of goal in the premier league, and he knows what it takes to get relegated. Would fit right in -
Genuinely have hope for this lad and think he should be thrown in now. After the Chelsea game just chuck him in up front for a few games. Worst that can happen is another striker not scoring but I doubt that will happen
