Buendia was my number one target at the start of the window and genuinely think he’ll be a revelation for us.

With Bailey bringing raw pace and direct threat from the left and Emi bringing Emi things off the right, it’s gotta be about picking up a super player through the middle.

Is Kamada that guy at a price we can manage, or do Lange and Co. fancy Arrascaeta?

What a time to be alive, btw!

Would love Kamada. Love Love Love

Notice how yesterday when mood in general was more positive that he might stay, Collymore and Andy Gray's son weren't talking about him leaving or bids having been accepted, they're basically just following the general mood and predicting what will happen based on that.

Are you telling their sources are vibes?

You can twist that round and say Jack can't just expect us to make it easy for him to leave 11 months after he signed a five year deal saying he believed in the project. 11 months in which the club kept its side of the bargain and made some big strides and progressed and has again backed up its huge ambitions by once again investing.

If he wants out and the hold up in him leaving is us playing hard ball then ****** fantastic.

    @sidcow^what he said

Club have every right to get the payment structured how they feel. He has a 4 years left of a contract. In the end I don't think it will matter. I think the club are doing the right thing. Guy has gone.

The logic follows that. He knows about PL is some sense (Leeds). He is a twitter ITK (NFL) so to try to gain 'followers' is his thing (he doesn't have that many). He could gain follows be latching onto a big PL transfer saga. He has 50/50 chance of being right. He has gone against the grain (Jack to City) to stand out more. If Jack does go to City he loses nothing, as his audience is NFL.

or he could find it amusing as a 'Leeds fan' to see Villa fans hanging on his tweets.

or he could have info from someone close to Wes Edens, who also has knowledge of the intentions of City and Spurs regards Kane.

I know where my money isn't.

Also looking now, I think he has gained around 1k more followers since tweeting last night, a big % increase.

Yeah i said people who follow him because he reports on NFL.  We found out he’s a Leeds and Bucks fan last night.  His audience is NFL fans as I said.

TRO, if he does leave, I so hope that Villa break the top 4 and win a trophy - FA Cup or Europa League etc - in the first few years he's gone so he feels the pain of missing out on that.

Sorry but, I cannot wish him well if he walks out on us after just 2 years back in the Premier League.

I agree. I am not too dishonest to say 'to spite him'. We should use that negative energy and emotion as fuel. I really like the direction of the club is going. We are going places with or without him. Opposition fans can mock that. However, it was the same fans that mocked us when we spoke of Jack in the Champ, now they are salivating at the prospect of him playing for them and willing to put down 100 million.

I’m almost indifferent to it now. Obviously I’d be happier him staying but really I don’t think any player is worth this much consideration.

Looking forward to going back to just thinking about players who we know actually want to play for Aston Villa. If the club thinks £100m is enough to get the players who both want to be here and are able to get us higher up the table, selling a player who seemingly needs a new and improved contract every year to stay isn’t the end of the world.

Exactly where I am. He is a great player and great if he stays. But I do have a few niggling doubts about him (both professionally & privately). I am intrigued to see what Aston Villa can do with more balance, options and variety.

My wife found out about me betting (a lot) on Jack staying last night. We slept in separate beds.

I left for work at 6am this morning and go home in 40 mins.

    Hopefully she hasn't left me.

Could do with this one coming in relatively soon for various reasons.

Bloody hell mate, all the best. Maybe you could lay that bet with a bet on him transferring to City.

It’s different nowadays, that’s what people want. They can always hide behind “anything can happen with transfers” get-out card

I suppose it isn't really a get out card. It is just a fact.

My point was he should have just reported what he reported from his City source and the proviso that he didn't know how Villa would respond. Man City are confident of getting the deal done. Representatives from Grealish are giving them positive signals. Yet to be seen how this will be handled at Villa, clearly they want to keep their captain. Instead he seemed to report with certainty and arrogance. Maybe it is the tribal aspect of Athletic reporting. Each journalist reporting on a specific club. Worse still, he then proceeded to start a back and forth with Villa Twitter, petty remarks about the fanbase being 'a weird cult', sneering at the owners and club, replying to unrelated articles with sarky unprofessional comments relating to the fanbase (these are the only things I've actually noticed). Then he circled back to play a victim. Indulging in it. I do not know the man but he has come across as both unprofessional and attention seeking.

I suspect when this whole saga is complete we will have a piece: The emotional toll the Jack Grealish transfer had on Sam Lee: In my words. FWIW, this whole thing, coupled with below par journalism from Evans, has led me to cancel my subscription to the Athletic.

Then they'll spend 4 months telling you that Leicester are competing for the title, arsenal are back, Leeds and everton are competing for CL... World's most exciting league...

Then when the same 4 clubs as usual get CL they'll tell you what a great season its been and go back in to trying to sell players to those 4 clubs in the name of excitement

Its not **** exciting, it's shit

Exactly. Smith called it when he said what you want is a competitive top 11/12. Wouldn't even mind a top 6 if it was a little more dynamic.

Want to note that even if he is leaving, at least he had the class and the balls to turn up for training today - unlike another even more expensive transfer that supposedly also loves his club…

Also, on an unrelated note, they only have 1600 pages on the Spuds forum about Kane. Do they even love him that much really???

Perhaps the class of the club also has something to do with it. We are not Tottenham. We are not Levy.
