We've broke our club record transfer fee twice this summer and people are moaning or suggesting it's been a bad window.
Some of you will never be happy.
Have some **** perspective of where we've been and how difficult it is to get to where we ultimately want to.
I dread to think the state of this place if we don't win tomorrow. I hope the sell out crowd are very different to the sky is falling theme that has dominated VT these past few weeks.
I wonder. If all 3 attacking signings would have been made this week. Would it be a good window?

It's getting ludicrous. Are people going to cry every window if we don't replace half the team because recently bought players not good enough for their liking?
Transfer = dopamine hit

Could che be a 6 though? That's where most people would want some money spent.
I suppose he could develop into the role. he has the energy and reading to do so.
I still see him a little further forward though. He reminds me a little of Dembele of Fulham/Spurs fame. An aggressive ‘pressurer’ and ball carrier.

Could his inclusion at LW, at Watford, also help deal with their best outlet Sarr?

Without a shadow but they can play together quite easily in a 3 man midfield. If they both progress as we hope we could easily see in 4-5 years our midfield containing them both as mainstays of the XI
A Ramsey
Chukweumeka. ?????
Back on Chuck, similar to how JJ will be picking Aaron, I'm interested to see how Iroegbunam will push Chukweumeka. I've not seen much of him at all but it sounds like he would be a similar player to Chuk positionally and maybe in style?
Be good for Chuk not to believe his own hype and really have to compete for those minutes with another supposed big talent.
I thought Iroegbunam was more defensive.

Talk of the town in Frankfurt is that Villa are sniffing around Kamada
Make it so. Haven’t Eintracht just signed Jens Petter Hauge too. He’s left sided though.

I was quite surprised we let him go to be honest - I can't remember whether we got any money for him or whether his contract just ran down? He always looked pretty decent in the cup games he played
We managed him terribly. By the time he had ‘come of age’ he was woefully undercooked. I reckon the current regime would have developed him a little better. Not to say he’d be a starter in the PL but to say that he could have got us a fee.

Not surprised to hear he was rubbish. We can make excuses all we like about the injury he’s had but he’s woeful in most of the matches he plays.
Can’t see him playing much this season.
Are you going to take a dump in every thread? Why so negative this evening?

Love the way he is always putting the club over. No ego with this guy.

Perhaps the 80-90 m investment with JG in the team would have been seen as enough to get top 6 top 4. Where as spending £80m now probably still wouldn't be enough.
Right now we have that many options it's perhaps not clear where the investment is required - so I'm sensing a bit of wait and see - take stock - then address the weak spots.
I have to agree. If I was them I would also want to assess a JG-free Smith too. I think this a big season for Smith. I have faith in him but he needs to produce without JG now. The current squad is more than capable of holding it's own in the PL.
I think this a project. There seems to be a big emphasis on youth development also. With that means the need to have pathways for prospects. I am pretty patient and relaxed. I think ownership will pull the trigger if the target is right but will not go out and purchase a 'magnifient-7'.

It's nice to see him passing the ball and looking for a cross rather than doing a Tonev aka shooting every single time.
Can really take a pen too.

Guessing he will most likely miss the opener, even if he gets over his injury he won’t be near full fitness, sounds like he’s been nursing the hip injury for a couple of weeks.
Indeed, so frustrating.

This signing isn't about strengthening our first team. We get a cheap backup for a year and we can buy a new centre half when we don't have quite so many pressing needs as now.
I like him. He is smart, skilled and has potential. But he is a project. I do not want us to act as a finishing school for Man Utd, for him to gain fitness, consistency and development. They seem to view this loan as such. I just hope we're adequately protected.

Smith needs to be brave here.
Do no play 4-4-2 just to get Ings and Watkins in the same team.
I'm afraid you'll have to bench one of them.
Got to agree to a point. Seemed like they were taking it in turns in rotating as 'no 10's'.Don't think it worked. However, they've only played 45 mins together. We are developing squad options to be able to play in numerous ways.

I know people are clamouring for the signing of a defensive minded midfielder, but I think this season will be Naka's breakthrough. His biggest deficiency was his ball retention. But since his first season, he's improved that tremendously. I want him to get the first 5-10 games to prove his worth to this team.

I'm not too worried. Looked like he felt his quad on shooting, asked for sub straight away in a precautionary manner. As it should be.

I am not pleased with this reading this from the Utd end.
QuoteAxel will return to the United set-up at the end of the 2021/22 season, at which point he'll then hope to stake a claim for a first-team starting spot at Old Trafford.

He signed a new contract there today alongside his loan to us.
Yes, just seen that he signed an extension to 2023 as he would have been out of contract. They are protecting their asset.
This is what annoys me. I really hope there is a prearranged fee in our loan if we choose to execute. No doubt we're paying a loan fee too. I remember Purslow talking about not wanting to develop talent for other teams. They will have our pants down if not and he makes an impression.

Manure offered him a new contract as I recall. Should do ok as a back up.
Yes. I would not want the same to happen again.
Say he ends up playing 15-20 games, showing his quality. Returns to Utd to offer him new contract and they try to sell him for 20-25 million or have him for their squad.
His fitness is the major major thing. He has the ability and potential.

I am glad of this. Quality at promotion season. Hope he can remain injury free and develop with us. I would have preferred perm move. Pi$$ed me off when he went back to Utd back then.
