Well if they draw with Chelsea, Liverpool and City game and beat Burnley by 2 goals. We win against Brighton and lose to Liverpool. They'll be 3 goals behind and 2 points behind.

So if we draw they need to win by 3 or 4 depending on goals scored.

Same as above except they lose to Liverpool let's say. If we lose to Palace and they beat Sheffield.

Lots of permutations. I just worry a bit about them turning up for a big performance against City in the middle game.

We just need to keep picking up points in the final games. We land a win and we should be good for 4th.

I don’t think I follow. Both teams played 37 games. Villa gain 3pts for win at Brighton. Spurs gain 3pts for draws against Chelsea, Liverpool and City. Then another 3pts for win at Burnley.

    Villa - 70pts
    Spurs - 66pts

Not at all. I'm not prone to hyperbole or BS. In the first half when the backline was all at sea, his composure allowed us to break the press. He was always available as an outlet and made quite a few interceptions. Seem to remember him pulling the line up a few times too...

Also, his passing was lightyears ahead of any defender on the pitch.

I agree with your assessment. The ‘enjoy him whilst we can’ comment, not so much. We’re constructing something special.

Thought it was his best performance in a Villa shirt today. Calm, efficient, positionally great, and his passing was incredible. The goal was the cherry on top.

Enjoy him whilst we've got him. He'd get into almost any progressive team's backline.

F*** 'em. No one ever gives us respect. The commentary I was listening to at full time spent 5 mins banging on about how spurs are actually very good. The last 10 seconds they signed off with 'oh, and well done to Aston Villa'.

Edit, now they are interviewing Post... and the first question was 'do you feel hard done by after 4 offside goals'. Double f*** em all.

All clearly so. Unlike the Ollie one.

Unless it’s actually Paqueta they want to sign.

Where’s all this 40m clause talk come from anyway?

I believe it was the combination of the speculation of a release clause (from the belief that he would not renew without one, sigh) and Liverpool twitter suggesting £40 million would be a fair price.

Hmmm calls to close the thread, I don’t take to mean they’re only going on about the Europa league.

People just spitting dummies out because the ideal scenario is not manifesting. Still all to play for. To fight for.

Upheld by VAR too because ‘contact’. (Not convinced there is any) That goes down as a correct VAR decision and the standards are the best they’ve ever been apparently.

And all is forgotten. Liverpool win (of course). Magnificent Mo with a brilliant penalty.

Defender goes to clear the ball while not under control of the ball and striker just runs into him =pen?

I mean he didn't even know or go to tackle Nunez.

    Don't like these manufactured pens.

Meanwhile, Stephen Warnock screaming ‘clear contact’.

My ex is from Merida in Venezuela to a Spanish dad and Venezuelan mom.

I'm borderline addicted to patatas bravas. Oh and have a love for padron peppers, hams, croquetas, mussels steamed in their own juices and nothing else too now thanks to my 5 ears with her.

Te amo mi amigo. Te amo.

I thought 5 ears was a colloquial Spanish term for 2.5 children when reading that for the first time.

Dean looks like he's just snorted a pound of cocaine. He will love being back in the Premier League. I hope he keeps them up.

How long can they keep hold of him though? Would he be tempted if the likes of Manchester City come calling???
