  1. Sack him NOW Lerner, still time to make the change before WBA.
  2. The same reason he went to Norwich from Colchester after they had beaten the Canaries 7-1 - he would be going to a bigger club! True but he would be going down a league..... Anyways there is only ONE man for Aston Villa. El Diego. Sure it would be a disaster results wise and financially BUT at least we would play absurdly attacking football and Maradona would be incredibly entertaining. never forget http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/15/diego-maradona-aston-villa
  3. Besides, why would he come if he relegates us on the last day? Would we want him?
  4. I prefer, Sack Mcliesh, get safe, hire whoever. Well unfortunately that ain't happening man! McRelegation is here until the end of the season. Hopes spring is eternal mate Besides I think if/when he loses at WBA even this board will recognise sacking him is our only chance of getting any points from the final two games. They are idiotic not to recognise it now.
  5. I prefer, Sack Mcliesh, get safe, hire whoever.
  6. All too late now Not too late until kick off imho. Dont leave it until we lose. We could have a chance against WBA if he was sacked before it.
  7. Why is he still employed today? Make the change NOW Lerner. Its needs to be done before the WBA game not after. McLeish knows he is gone so he is not going to be effective. Sack him NOW. Give the team chance to train under the interim coach before the WBA game. Keeping him around is unfair on Mcleish and the team.
  8. Almost certainly they look, a few times before quitting anyway. It probably just takes one thread of personal abuse at them after a bad game that they quit, which is for the best. Who the hell wants to read negativity about themselves? besides playing football is their job, I doubt any of them want to stress about it in their free time as well.
  9. 1.) Opened statement ready to read about the manager change and get behind the team. 2.) Saw it was just waffle and no action taken. Closed statement. Cut the bullshit Lerner, make the change NOW before the next game. You can fire Faulkner at the end of the season but the manager needs to happen NOW.
  10. This x1000. Be nice to have a change. Yep. Cheaper tickets, more games, more saturday matches, different grounds, more chance of winning games. What's not to like. Never coming back up?
  11. Is he sacked yet? Lerner, you fool, sack him TODAY. Its our only chance at staying up.
  12. All caused by Lerners arrogance and refusal to admit mistakes. If we go down (now likely) because he refused to sack McLeish (apparently) Lerner wont get any more of my money. If he sacks mcLiesh tomorrow I will happily support him and the team. But my patience is over. He should have sacked him after the ManU game. Now it maybe too late but it is vital to give us even a sliver of a chance of staying up.
  13. I always liked the general. His note (assuming its him) makes me like him even more. He is wrong about changing the manager though. I think that is needed and would make a difference.
  14. "A club source said: “There is no foundation to this. The club believes in continuity. We are putting in foundations on which to move the club forward. Alex remains an integral part of that.” " Jesus christ, seriously? Going forward to what? Relegation? Another season of shit football? make the change Lerner, you made a mistake, change before its too late.
  15. McLeish is not benig sacked and we are not staying in the Premier League. 8(
  16. It is astonishing. The club is in free-fall and Lerner and Faulkner sit there transfixed. What are they expecting to happen? McLiesh has had a season it isnt working, sometimes that happens. Pay him off and make the change for crying out loud. Its going to cost us a lot more to go down and not come back up.
  17. I am gobsmacked even a result like that doesnt make Lerner act. It is astonishing. We lose lost 4-0 Lerner, for relegation managers thats usually used as an excuse to get rid of them, change the manager now. We can go DOWN. This is the only button Lerner has left after choosing to let January transfer window go past even though we KNEW if we got injuries our midfield was frighteningly weak. The most depressing thing? Us losing and headed for relegation isnt even a news story any more. This is how far we have falen over the past two seasons. Disaster and it is ALL Lerner and Faulkners fault.
  18. Holloway was a dick to us as a club. Also his "banter" got really old by the end of the season. At the start of the season loved watching Blackpool by the end I was glad to see Blackpool go down. It was a genuine question, I was asking about his managerial ability. Could Holloway manage a big club like Villa. I don't care whether he's fat, thin or bald. You know, Ron Saunders was a miserable bastard, but what a great Manager. They all have their faults. I would like Lambert personally but the merits of Holloway, discuss....... Fair enough. Well his merits are he plays extremely attacking football and has demonstrated he can cycle a squad of lesser talented players to get results. The downside of his style are when he loses, he loses BIG which means his teams morale (fan and players) can get a real battering. His other downside is his style and signings are generally low skill, pacey players who can put in a shift for a game. In fact he seems to value work ethic as much as McLeish which isnt the kind football I care about.

  20. I would have LOVED this. Gates would be up and we would be DAMN entertained. I am almost certain we would be in a relegation fight with him but we would have had huge laughs along the way. Gutted we didnt take him when he really wanted to come, he is an entertaining asshole, but he would be OUR entertaining asshole, and one thing he does is play very very attacking football.
  21. I won't be able to help myself. No. Might check the fixtures though and see if there are any on. I understand try and resist though Yeah try and go, Serie A games are really fun (not very family freindly though so dont take the kids if you have any).
  22. Dont check the results mate. You going to be able to get in a Serie A game?
  23. How an earth can people be so confident? Our form is TERRIBLE. Right now I think we are likely to go down. It is not some far off possibility its something the club need to face today. The aircraft is going down, lets hit as many buttons as we can to try and change the trajectory. Lerner needs to make a manager change today. It might just make the difference.
  24. Correct answer. Our boards track record is appalling. I wouldnt celebrate as McLeish walks out one door and Neil Warnock walks in the other.
  25. Kenny has only equaled McLeish's silverware haul. But spend a hundred million quid to get it. I have no point here other than to troll any passing Liverpool fans 8)
