Would love this guy to come good, he had some flashes of brilliance last year. Can't see who he will replace in the current line up though. Some sub appearances for Petrov when he tires might be a good idea.

Didn't look great from what I saw of the highlights (2 mins on SkySports), missed two sitter and didn't seem bothered when we scored. Still hope he comes good, especially when you consider what Villa are paying him.

I really do want to see what we could do with a midfield of three, Makoun, Delph and either Petrov or Bannan.

Play him yes, but captain is a bit extreme.

Would be a shame to see him go, considering he hasn't really had a fair chance at Villa.

If he cant perform against Hereford, then he can't perform against anyone in the PL.

Think he's a good player on his day, better than any other options we have at left back at the moment (Clark is a centre back!)

Really hope he stays injury free for a good run at the moment. Have seen him play well a few times, but hasn't really ever held down a place in the Villa team.

I'm sure the large majority will clap, but obviously every football club has it's morons (including Villa). A 2-0 or higher in favor of Villa and 99% will be cheering.

Wasn't amazed by his debut. Sure he will get better though, so not worried. Looking forward to seeing him at home.

Made some really good blocks to be fair to him. Not a bad start on his return to his first team.

Hopefully the thought of his England place will encourage him to 20+ goals.

Thought he was second MOTM after given. Would love to see Makoun in next to him.
