The thing is as I see it, if we sold Shay for about 3 million how much would we have to spend to get a goalkeeper of a similar standard? Regardless of the trouble Birmingham are in i doubt they would sell Foster to us for much less than 6/7 million. Rob Green isn't as good as Given. I would be happy starting the next season with Shay in goal, whereas there are other positions i think require much more attention and funding before we think about replacing our number 1 goalkeeper. I've not seen much of Siegrist, do people think he's ready to step up to number 2 goalkeeper or is he not ready just yet?

Would love to see him sign for us. Speedy little player who isn't scared to run at defenders. Even if he isn't ready as a starting 11 player he would add some much needed quality and some depth to the squad!

General, This is the first time i've chosen to send a message to you and it is through sheer anger and disappointment that i'm doing so. In an earlier post you promised us fans that McLeish would be backed by Mr Lerner only for us now to be told that we can only expect one more signing before the season starts. Do the board understand how this makes us feel? We feel lied to and we have every right to feel that way. If it's a case of signings will be made after the start of the season but before the end of the transfer window then why would Mr McLeish even bother saying anything? the board chose to appoint a manager who the fans were completely against and now to be told we're going to start the season roughly 14 players lighter is extremely disappointing. I look forward to hearing something positive because we don't want another poor season, we deserve something good to happen to us. Best Wishes
