  1. MON: 6 games played: 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss = 13 points (2 top 6 teams) McLeish: 6 games played: 1 win, 5 draws = 8 points (0 top 6 teams) This is the difference now. Some Villa fans (not all) have SHA mindset thinking 5 draws out of 6 was like the **** best thing ever. I remember it clear as day. I warned them the draws wouldn't do much good long term and look at the table now. **** shocking. 2 promotional teams are above us. Where as Sunderland fans have gone above standards and they'll expect them to take anyone on their day. We? **** hell.
  2. If MON wins this he'll have 4 victories under his belt already. He's only been in 3 weeks and without a pre season. Our manager on the other hand has only 5 wins with a pre season and a solid squad. There's just too much difference in quality. Sunderland will finish above us for the remaining future until something drastic happens from top to bottom.
  3. I would be very patient if a manager like Rodgers came in and it took him years to get us like Swansea. Even if we got relegated. I wouldn't be patient with McLeish's philosophy even if we finished top half twice. Because sooner or later it'll damage us long term just like what MON's legacy is doing right now.
  4. So we're all gonna sit by and allow Bent to leave who saved us from relegation last season for a manager who will most likely relegate us if he sells our best goal scorer.
  5. I think alot of up and coming managers would jump at the chance of managing our club regardless of the restrictions. It's the fact that the board didn't make an effort of trying harder.
  6. I've just watched his post match interview (don't normally watch them) and he looks devastated like he's about to cry. I've never seen a manager so washed out before. He looks drained. I think it's only gonna go downhill from here. Just do the right thing and quit.
  7. Except the person who made the appointment. He has made two astonishing choices really. Firstly Houllier a guy who hadn't managed for 3 years, hadn't managed in the Premiership for several years, was out of touch and a known cheque book manager when we were looking to cut back on spending. It was no surprise then that we found ourselves in deep shit sitting in or around the relegation mire for 5 months and he had to spend the best part of 30 mill to get us out of the shit he'd got us in to. Now with Mcleish a manager who had two recent relegations on his record known for playing negative unattractive football. It is again therefore no surprise that we find ourselves struggling, playing unattractive football and attendances quickly dwindling. It is hard to believe really that anyone could be so incompetent to not see where we would be heading by making the managerial appointments they have. Lerner and Faulkner it is very clear to see know **** all about football but given it is Lerner that appointed Faulkner he is ultimately responsible for the shit we find ourselves in. I'm all for sacking McLeish but don't expect his replacement to be much better if its Lerner and Faulkner choosing him. At least Houllier made better sense. Long term wise. And he did have worthwhile achievements without any major negatives. Not many of us would have predicted he would be pretty bad at this club. But McLeish? You just knew he was gonna be terrible.
  8. Are you gonna mention his Championship promotion too?
  9. I don't buy this we play worse with Bent on the pitch. People seem to be forgetting how good we were against Bolton and Bent was on the pitch. Bent came on the pitch in the last 10 mins against Chelsea and suddenly we score 2 goals. Was that rubbish too? Also, Bent wasn't playing in the Liverpool game and that was one of our worst peformances this season. How you explain that one?
  10. What's up with the fickle fans on here? Fans were getting over excited with the Chelsea win and made a thread about calling a truce towards McLeish now suddenly some have turned again. DOL was right. I know football fans are fickle in general, but Villa fans take it to another level. I've also noticed there's hardly any backbone towards McLeish. Houllier got way more venom. Loads of different negative chants, banners, a long chorus of boos, xenophobic insults etc. With McLeish it's basically been a lol worthy of boos (don't last more than a second at HT/FT) and the best one being "you don't know what you're doing", which was the norm towards Houllier anyway. How exactly is this manager getting away with murder here? 4 home defeats in a row. 8 out of 20 times we've failed to score. Clueless football for the most part. 25% win record. It's not just that. If you look at his past experinces it's a defining fact in time he'll destroy completely, yet fans are just sitting there being all indifferent about the whole situation.
  11. About half of VT were unhappy back then? Even I was thrilled to have MON at the time. But now? No, not at all. Stopped being a happy Villa fan when everything went to pot from August 2010 onwards.
  12. I've just heard there were extra stewards in last nights game to protect McLeish. You see, this is why he was a bad idea from a start. A manager should never be protected from his own fans at home. Unbeliveable appointment.
  13. Did he really say there's nothing he could do on the pitch? Erm....hello? Plan B? Some **** way of unlocking Swansea? It's not gonna work if you take away our most creative player off the pitch.
  14. I find it embarassing when fans mention Warnock's mistake killed the game. How the **** can you kill the game with 86 mins plus stoppage time to go at home?
  15. The media are so xenophobic it's unbelieveable. But because McLeish is British they'll just ignore his negatives. Although there are a few strong critics against him if you look around. I just can't believe how he has turned Villa Park from a place where teams found it hard to pick up 3 points to easy mode. It's not a fortress anymore.
  16. It took him 80 mins to break down struggling League 2 team Hereford and that was at home with Bent. The word awful is a complement to him.
  17. I hope we'll lose against Bristol. It's not like we're gonna win the FA Cup anyway. But losing that will make his position closer to becoming untenable.
  18. I would prefer it if the fans ripped all their season tickets in the next home game (defeat obv) and then not attend. That would set out a clear message. Season ticket holders already burnt their money the moment they foolishly thought McLeish was gonna do good here. You cannot polish a turd.
  19. Houllier fell in his own sword. Twice. The fans aren't to blame for getting pissed off with him. But McLeish deserves it more because he knows his of his depth in the Premier League, yet he took the job for the sake of a wage increase (not for a challenge lol), while putting our club at risk. The board were extremely naive and probably don't even realise. Oh, and why is McLeish being brought up as a nice guy. Erm...How is leaving Scotland and SHA at the brink of administration being a nice guy? Selfish bastard wouldn't leave this club without a compensation package even if he took us down.
  20. I can see how this appointment went. Randy Lerner: Oh no, it took me a week to get organised of setting up the interview with Martinez and he doesn't even want to come. What to do, what to do... Paul Faulkner: Well Randy, there's a letter from SAF saying McLeish is a good manager. Randy Lerner: Wow, is he like the best manager of England or something? He knows everything. I'm gonna put this in my safe. Yeah, bring him in Paul... *McLeish enters the next day* Randy Lerner: Are you friends with Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United or something? Alex McLeish: Erm yeah... Randy Lerner: Thanks to you I got a letter from him and I feel like a kid in Disney land again. You're hired. Alex McLeish: Erm thanks.... Paul Faulkner: Why am I here again? Randy Lerner: To fetch me a cake. Oh, and in your spare time make up some story about how this Alex fits our criteria.
  21. It's laughable to think someone like Steve Bruce can get 20 odd goals out of him and Alex McLeish will struggle to get 10.
  22. I think everyone should tear up their Season Ticket and throw it in the pitch if we lose the next home game. That would be more effective and self satisfying than witnessing a slow death.
  23. We've failed to score in EIGHT out of twenty league games under him. Fulham 0-0 Villa Villa 0-0 Wolves Spurs 2-0 Villa Swansea 0-0 Villa Villa 0-1 Man Utd Villa 0-2 Liverpool Stoke 0-0 Villa Villa 0-2 Swansea All those attacking players in our squad and we barely even create chances as well. What the hell? :?
