  1. Kind of sums up my earlier point. Who cares? I guess we should, shouldn't we? Do you honestly think Collins performs to be best of his potential being, some say, a pisshead? At least I care about that. Loads of players do this all the time? Really? Maybe some of the second and third best do. Are ManU players doing "this" "all the time"? Arsenal? Surely not. Best teams act in a professional manner. We don't. One reason why we are where we are. Absolutely not the only reason, but definately one of them. What players get up to in their personal lives is irrelevant. I just don't care about it at all. If you do, fine, but I personally don't. Players aren't paid to behave like Saint Agnes of Rome - they're paid to play football. Well said. Load of bollox - if we were doing well nobody would give a damn.
  2. Amazing 25 pages about a scuffle. Shows how boring our season has been that this incident is this biggest news item on AVFC all season. They were naughty boys, acting like prats and were fined accordingly - lets move on!
  3. I think it will more like breathing a sigh of relief and saying thank **** for that. After this bloody awful season, I will be just glad is over and hoping the powers that be do the right thing. Let AM go and bring in a manager who has the nous to enable us to compete again - eventually.
  4. My theory is that the whole departure package was discussed and agreed last week. The moment that we are mathematically safe is the point that McLeish will quietly depart. I hope you are right, but still hope the fans keep up the pressure against Spurs just to be sure.
  5. If we survive I hate to say it but I don't think they will sack him - unless, the fans make it clear they want him gone at the Spurs game whatever the result. IF we pull an amazing result out the bag my fear is that he will stay and take us down next year.
  6. Surely we are safer now? QPR would need a miracle to win both of their remaining games. Even a win and a draw seem far fetched. That said even if we are safe MUST still go and the fans have got to make it clear against Spurs that his position in untenable!!!! If QPR's predicament makes it easier for the fans to protest without fear of dispiriting the team.
  7. Discussing why he stayed in the dugout during the Baggies game McLeish said: “It just didn’t seem appropriate, the players don’t want to hear us screaming, ranting and raving" WTF.... he and Grant have screamed, ranted and raved all f****g season! I have watched them all season and it has been obvious from the players reactions "alll season" that they have wanted them to shut the *** up! McLeish is pathetic and must go NOW!!!
  8. I suspect that Villa execs are being bombarded with emails and letters so feel anything I send will get lost in "the pile" but for my own sanity i also feel I must write something. As we know that these boards are monitored by the club I propose we post our letters on this thread and hope that something makes it's way back to the powers that be. Here is my poor attempt at expressing my feelings and despair:
  9. What then? I agree that he should sell if possible BUT I cannot see him taking a massive hit. I agree that he has led us very badly BUT if he will not sell at a loss - what then? Under Ellis we knew that he would either "leave in a box" or eventually cash but now I cannot see a satisfactory conclusion to this mess.
  10. Don't shoot the messenger John, there is a difference between reporting what he said 6 years ago and accepting that his intentions (then) were good. If your post was pointed at me, you are wrong to assume that I support him. I was simply highlighting his comments - back then.
  11. Quite right that he should be judged on his actions as was ellis. However the challenge of selling AVFC 6 years on is very different. When Ellis sold to Lerner the club owed £12 million, how much do we owe now? - £100+ million? I doubt that Lerner will want to sell at a loss, so he either works out how he can turn the club round or watches his investment go further down the drain.
  12. I agree that nearly six years on his words seem empty but I also agree with Pete that he had the right intent but the big question is over his "judgement" We will never know why the stupid decision to employ McLeish was made and over the next few weeks Lerner may come to rue the day! Personally I would like him to seek a super rich buyer but doubt such an individual is in the wings. I might be wrong but I cannot see him accepting a huge loss to sell on. Therefore we can only hope that he realises his error of judgement and reappraises his approach to Villa, gets rid of McLeish, hires a decent manager and gives him the backing needed. But he also needs back up his belief that the fans ultimately own the club with better leadership.
  13. I realise there is a specific Randy Lerner thread but given the current situation, felt that it would be worthwhile reminding everyone of some of the comments that he made prior to taking over. This front page article was posted in August 2006 by villafan306 and deserves scrutiny in the light of the mess we are in! I have always believed that Randy Lerner's heart was in the right place but desperately want him to take a lead and reflect on his own words in the first paragraph below:
  14. Ranson was in cahoots with Risdale at Leeds via his Guernsey based company Registered European Football Finance which did a deal at exorbitant rates that ultimately bankrupted them. Wouldnt want Ranson anywhere near Villa!
  15. Birmingham Mail doing a Stay/Go vote on McLeish - 78.6% that he goes. Can someone do a short link please. I cant remember how
  16. Worse... I can see Chelsea giving it to them!
  17. You forgot to mention the Chief Executive. Briny I didn't forget, I just didn't see the point of him and never have!
  18. Cant believe that some people are "enjoying" this or are even looking forward to the Championship? I could give you loads of reasons but here is just four Millwall, Peterborough, Watford and f.ucking Barnsley!
  19. You are all grasping at straws McLeish isn't going to be sacked
  20. After a three hour journey that felt like double that, I got back to Bournemouth from VP just over an hour ago. I cannot sleep, still feel sick and now also feel totally humiliated! Founded in 1874 and after almost 140 years it has come to this! Think about it!!!!!! THE ****** WORST SEASON OF HOME RESULTS IN OUR HISTORY!!!!! We have been brought to our knees IMO by the most incompetent manager in my 50+ years following the club. Our "Proud History" has been sullied by THE most incompetent owner we have ever had and we are clinging to our status as an ever present member of the premier league by our finger tips! I am sad, frustrated, angry, pissed off but the worst is that I feel ****** HUMILIATED!!!
  21. McLeish's record including time at sha over the last two seasons to date: Played 72 Wins 15 - 20.83% Draws 30 - 41.67% losses 27 - 37.50% He's an embarrassment and we have to suffer this crap for maybe two more seasons
  22. I accept that Gabby hasnt played well for quite a while but then neither has the whole team. Our midfield service has been woeful and since McP R A T has arrived we seem to be in a permanent 4-5-1 so the striker has been ploughing a lonely furrow. Gabby needs a good manager and unfortunately we only have Mc P R A T!! All that aside, this seems like opportune shit stirring just ahead of our game against them.
  23. I have changed my mind, we can go down!
