Even though he was given a bit of an advantage by the Arsenal defence playing like a pub team, Bent's first goal yesterday was something very special. Very difficult to execute and superbly done. A memory to treasure in an otherwise distinctly forgettable saeson.

I didn't realise before yesterday's game that (a) Darren Bent has scored against Arsenal every time he's played them and ( Reo-Coker has never lost to Arsenal. If I'd known that, I would have been more confident about the result.

Great result and a great performance put in by the 14 men we put out on the pitch. Great move by GMac to put the refs shirt on one of our players.

Walker motm for me, but Bent and Friedel weren't far off. But every Villa player on that pitch fought very hard. Good to see. One of the things we've been lacking under GH. Let's take on Liverpool and then leave this dreades season behind us.
