  1. There's a few ideas being piloted around the country at the moment with the best one in my opinion being an online service where you can email in your query and get an answer or prescription by emailed response later that day. This obviously only works for minor complaints or repeat prescription or referrals but it would save these people taking out appointments. It also means those who can't speak English are able to access the service easily because there would be online translation services. The discussion around this idea on the negative side is about health inequalities and how it is a service that can only be used by those with access to the internet.
  2. I don't think it's about having limits though. I think he was perhaps naively swept along in excitement but at the same time I truly believe he believed in MON and was convinced all would be well. If we'd progressed as initially believed, I'm 100% convinced he would have continued to plough more and more money into the club.
  3. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I think we were all in a bit of a bubble when Lerner and MON first came to the club.
  4. McLeish was always a poor appointment not because of his managerial ability but as stated above, because of his City connections. He was always fighting an uphill battle and was a massive mistake on Lerner's behalf because it smacked of someone who was really out of touch with the supporters of his own club. I had a slight amount of sympathy for McLeish because as I say, he was in a no win situation with our supporters from day one, however, he didn't really do himself any favours did he? The McLeish appointment was certainly the time when a lot of the supporters turned on Lerner though because it showed him up to be so far apart from the world of football.
  5. Exactly right. I don't think Lerner was thinking right, this is all the money I'm ever going to invest so have it all now. It was more likely a bit of a shock to his system to realise he was entrusting someone with vast amounts of his own money who wasted a great deal of it. I'm sure it left him with a sense of well I'm not doing that again in a hurry.
  6. I have to say, at the time, I didn't blame Lerner one bit for pulling the plug after the amount he'd paid out when MON was here.
  7. I wouldn't be stupid enough to start an affair with a Villa fan. I don't need that negativity in my life
  8. There's also the wider issue of the Premier League in general and money in the game taking over. There's been lots of bad decisions, signings, managers etc. but it's also reality that any decent player we do sign or bring through the ranks will be gone in a season to a club who will most likely just destroy their international career and stick them in the reserves. If Jack Grealish had had a good season you can bet he wouldn't be here by the end of January. It's increasingly difficult to build a decent team now and it's too late to ever catch up.
  9. Championship equivalent? I think we'd be hard pushed to beat Bolton right now.
  10. The sad thing is, even Heskey would be too good for us now.
  11. When I say arguments, I don't mean in terms of pure rage, spiteful comments and all that kind of thing. My definition of an argument is more along your description of disagreements, differences of opinion etc. A bit of a row that dissolves into nothing once both parties have had a bit of space. Though I still think murder is a good option sometimes.
  12. If it does that for some supporters then that can only be a good thing. Personally I think we're too far behind and simply not good enough to have any hope of avoiding relegation now. We've been very lucky for a couple of seasons and instead of improving we've just got worse.
  13. Only because it gives the manager and players a chance to spout yet more crap about how hard they've been trying.
  14. One win at home to Crystal Palace won't shift the board so getting the fans back on side is a much longer and harder process. Plus I just can't see the players suddenly looking interested especially after the abuse at Wycombe.
  15. But the thing is, even if we do win it's hardly inspiring.
  16. I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years and this will be the first game I've chosen to just not bother going to.
  17. The last episode in Season 2 of The Affair was so good!
  18. My favourite three places I've actually visited would be Venice, Hawaii and San Francisco. I'd go back to any in an instant! But in terms of new experiences I'd most like to go to: Maldives India Canada
  19. How have you all been to so many places?? My list is crap in comparison! England Wales Scotland Ireland USA Austria France Switzerland Germany Finland Italy Belgium Luxembourg Tunisia Cyprus I've tended to revisit different parts of the same country, particularly Italy and America. After reading this thread I think I need to get back to travelling more often.
  20. A relationship without arguments to me just gives the impression that neither party is that bothered. Arguments equal passion.
