Both Dunne and Collins have had better 2-year periods at Villa than Vlaar. Dunne also got into the team of the season. Them two had a season inwhich Villa allowed less than a goal per game on average. Ron was great in the world cup, but nowhere near that at Villa yet.

Despite Young having a pretty poor few seasons, you wouldn't get him for anywhere near 4m. 8m minimum i reckon

And I wouldn't give you more than 2m for Bertrand after his showings last season

If Lambert is still going to play GA & AW either side of a striker I get the signing.

There's going to be an absolutely awful cloud hanging over VP from the off this season. An owner who doens't want to be here, a manager the fans don't want and no new players to get excited about

This potential signing depresses me more than seeing Lambert still in the managerial chair. Add Keane to that pair and that's a potential trio of clearings in the woods I can't abide at my club

Roy Keane has, to my eyes at least shown absolutely NOTHING as a coach/manager to warrant the job full stop

If he'd been showing promise in this field by all means, but he hasn't. The only thing people wanting him seem to have is 'he's a winner'. Well no, he WAS a winner under a GREAT manager and in a GREAT team. He himself has been pretty much a loser since he tried to take on managing since he gave up playing. It's a totally different world to playing and one he doesn't strike me as having the tools for.

We have a footballing 'winner' in the managerial seat now and look at the **** mess he's made of things.

Albrighton was pretty much the ONLY positive from the second half of last season, and his assists to minutes on the pitch ratio probably stacks up against anybodies

Lescott is the player we should have tried getting would improve our defence now going to hull who are a relegation rival of ours at the min ( it's sad that a club like ours aim is to survive )

Yeah, a SIXTH centre back is just what we need

N'Zogbia was always better at dribbling for his own benefit than being a winger that provided chances for strikers

Which made our decision to sign him for 10m to replace two out and out chance creators in Downing/Young all the more bizarre. As did not spending the rest of the 28m leftover on buying another actual winger
