It makes absolute logical sense not to bring in an A lister who will tear up the squad and start from scratch again. We're 4 years into a rebuild, we've already established ourself as the 6th best side. The last thing we need is to dismantle and start again setting us back years. In this time of supposed Villa turmoil and doom and gloom (according to the tabloids) how come I went into Saturdays game feeling good, and came out feeling even better ?

Something doesn't add up. I'm supposed to be depressed and fearing for my club if what I read in the gutter press is true, yet i'm strangely excited and positive for the season ahead.

Too old at 21 to be considered a prospect anymore, he'll either sink or swim this season like a few of the young guns.

He seems reliable enough, and like most full backs doesnt stand out or particularly catch the eye. Especially in a side that plays with 2 widemen who don't rely on marauding fullbacks.
