  1. It makes absolute logical sense not to bring in an A lister who will tear up the squad and start from scratch again. We're 4 years into a rebuild, we've already established ourself as the 6th best side. The last thing we need is to dismantle and start again setting us back years. We need to continue and progress with whats already been built

  2. But we were brilliant last week.

    Well, we were VERY GOOD last week, I wouldnt say brilliant

    And we were playing West Ham

    Biggets mistake MacDonald made today was trying to play Ireland and Petrov as a midfield two. It was never going to work

    You have to have an anchor in there to protect the back 4. Milner's enegry and graft meant he did the work of 2 men.

    Should've rested Marc, stuck Ash on the left and NRC just in front of the back 4. That doesnt mean I rate NRC, becaise I think he's about as limited as a footballer can be. But needs must

  3. If we play 1 upfront for alot of the season, Agbonlahor, Carew, Delfouneso/Wiemann, all we REALLY need isn't it?

    Well, that depends if they're scoring or not surely?

    If they all perform like Carew in front of goal last weekend we'd be well and truly ****

    The one thing we've needed since god knows when, is a goalscorer.

  4. Hello General

    In this time of supposed Villa turmoil and doom and gloom (according to the tabloids) how come I went into Saturdays game feeling good, and came out feeling even better ?

    Something doesn't add up. I'm supposed to be depressed and fearing for my club if what I read in the gutter press is true, yet i'm strangely excited and positive for the season ahead.

    I'm worried :-)

  5. Why do people assume Luke Young's desire to move back to London has just dissappeared ?

    The rumour was he was home sick and really wanted to move back to be closer to his family. Can't see how thats changed overnight unless it was just bullshit

  6. Too old at 21 to be considered a prospect anymore, he'll either sink or swim this season like a few of the young guns.

    He seems reliable enough, and like most full backs doesnt stand out or particularly catch the eye. Especially in a side that plays with 2 widemen who don't rely on marauding fullbacks.

    Good luck to him.

  7. Whoever comes it wont please everyone. I'd personally welcome Jol with open arms. I like the bloke and he was harshly treated by Spuds

    Klinsmann and Bilic are wild cards who could go either war judging by their managerial careers so far. Not sure thats what we need

    Sven = God no

    Southgate = God no

    Do we go for experience or plump for a younger bloke (eg Pearce, Grayson, etc) ?

    Four years into a rebuild I doubt we want to wash all that work away, we just need someone to come in, tweak it a bit and continue it rather than pull it all apart and start again

  8. Hope this is just like last season and with no foundation.

    But if O'Neill's thrown a wobbly, my initial worry is its over Ashley Young. I can't see how Spurs could even begin to afford him but maybe someone else has made a big bid and Lerner's considering it. Something i'd be deeply worried about at any price

    Well, I say any price. 45m and he can go ...
