  1. is this game still a 3pm kick off?
  2. we need cuellar in the centre to contain kevin davies i think. rest dunne, please, he deserves a rest especially before the semi. anyone got any concrete news on carew?
  3. i would play cuellar, and rest dunney for the semi final.
  4. possibly the best pass sidwell has ever played. JC has become a bit of a van nistelrooy these days.
  5. i didn't vote or read the thread because i don't think he should go. buit i would like to state i would hate mark hughes to be anywhere near our club.
  6. well i'm back from work, that was the longest shift ever after the totally deflating afternoon watching the game. it gave me some time to reflect though... we will bounce back from this next week i am sure. for one thing the players will want to go some way to make up to the fans who paid £48 to watch them today. the players will be a whole lot more embarassed about this than any of us fans are and will want to rectify it. we will go to bolton next week and win and then be out for revenge in the semi final. to all those saying MON should be sacked i really don't know what to say, it would be a ridiculous decision to sack him and i think things are being said in the heat of the moment. we arent out of this yet (and although i don't think we will finish 4th), we will be within touching distance of the top four at the end of the season. a week's rest now will be key for most of the team and we will see where we stand before the bolton game. i was devestated, but it isn't the most upsetting loss we have suffered in recent years... old trafford last season and doncaster in the carling cup under DOL (which somebody mentioned) come to mind immediately. also i would just like to say massive respect for the fans who went today and were singing til the end, you did us all proud.
  7. one of the worst things for me is i've got to go to work now and i'm gonna get such a ribbing about this
  8. it has just been so deflating. we haven't turned up second half and that fact has been taken advantage of by a very good side. we need to remember this, that chelsea are a great side and they do rip teams apart more often than man united do. we need this week to take a bit of time out, pick ourselves up and get right back into our season next week at bolton.
  9. why take off the player most likely to score?!
  10. we don't look hungry enough in midfield, and ash and gabby have been pretty absent. that sounds like much stronger criticism than i wanna give because we haven't been too bad, just haven't had much chance. i would switch to 4-4-2 and get milner on the right.
  11. gabby will cause zhirkov problems with his pace
  12. interesting team news, either the knocks aren't too bad or he is going all out for a win and giving the three of them injections galore. 2-1 villa.
  13. sidwell will score tomorrow, you heard it here first.
  14. anyone got a link for highlights? i only saw the second half, ta.
  15. that post made me really laugh for some reason. we have a chance in this game, we do tend to up our game against the better teams. having said that we could also get stuffed. i really don't know what to expect from it at all.
  16. young MOTM, carew close second. it was an alright performance, we just couldnt finish them off. frustrating is the word which comes to mind. think we can wave goodbye to 4th now, barring a miraculous turnaround. at least citeh lost i guess.
  17. Surely it should be the reverse of that? in my opinion we have enough other quality players to be able to beat sunderland, but we need arguably our best player in order to get anything against chelsea.
  18. if james needs a rest i think tonight would be one of the best games to do so in to be honest, we need him on saturday if we are to get anything at the bridge.
  19. if gabby is out i would start carew and heskey, but DEFINITELY bring the fonz on at h/t if we are anything less than two goals in front. he needs at least 45 minutes to have a proper go. heskey did score against sunderland in december though and seeing as his goals are such a rare occurence i think he should be given a go against this defence again.
  20. didn't see the wolves game as i was travelling at the time, but from what i've read on here he wasn't great. and in all the games since burnley he hasn't looked very confident at all. he played well against burnley, but we can't have one good performance per month. NB. i like downing, and expect him to improve a lot next season, i was just saying in relation to this match.
