  1. Apparently Fury took his shirt off after confronting Chisora. Also, Oscar De La Hoya has checked into rehab for substance abuse.
  2. As soon as I saw the fans turning around in the crowd I instantly assumed it was our esteemed friends from small heath. Could not believe it when they said it was Del Boy and Fury.
  3. I haven't seen it in a few years but from what I remember it was a good watch.
  4. 8.05 - Billy Joe Saunders 8.40 - Frankie Gavin 9.35 - Nathan Cleverly 10.35 - DeGale v Groves Depends on how long the DeGale fight lasts.
  5. Roy Jones' funeral in Russia coming up shortly... Edit: And here it is.
  6. Yep, Cleverly is fighting the Polish bloke posted above. All weighed in under the limit.
  7. Apparently Bellew hasn't made the weight and the options are now a catchweight fight over 10 with Bellew, or a WBO title fight with Kuziemski.
  8. Likewise Rev. By all accounts DeGale is actually a nice, down-to-earth kid outside of the ring. It seems to me that he knows people will pay money to see someone they dislike lose.
  9. I don't think there's much advertising involved, I think they just don't like eachother.
  10. He said before that he will need to lose a stone though. Like you say, fighting shape is a different matter. With him just coming back from an operation on his hand, and his fight not due for another 2 months, I'd be interested to know how much sparring he has been doing.
  11. Mohammedi didn't exactly come to fight. It's looking likely that it will be Bellew on Saturday, which is a lot better opponent than I was expecting when I found out about Braehmer. I don't give Tony much chance but with the power he's got, you never know. I'm enjoying some of the banter for the DeGale-Groves fight...
  12. £15 for a British title fight... It looks like Cleverly will fight for the title against a replacement. Potentially, Tony Bellew although I find it hard to believe that someone who is known for cutting a lot of weight like Bellew would be able to make it at 3 days notice.
  13. I think as much of the blame lies with Webb's corner for not pulling him out as the ref. I don't think stopping it in the 5th would have been taking the title from him cheaply at all, he was out on his feet for most of the round. Anyway... Some cracking fights coming up next weekend: Juergen Braehmer vs Nathan Cleverly (WBO Light-Heavyweight) James DeGale vs George Groves (British Super middleweight) Jean Pascal vs Bernard Hopkins II (WBC & RING Light-Heavyweight) First 2 on SkyBoxOffice, Hopkins fight is on SkySports4 on Sunday at 11am (Delayed coverage)
  14. Yeah, cracking fight but it really should have been stopped in the 5th. Webb took some real unnecessary punishment there and it's the kind of beating that will shorten his career.
  15. It was better than I was expecting but Ward still took a wide decision. AA asked a couple of questions in the early rounds with an uncharacteristic fast start but Ward adjusted quickly and took control. The judges had it 120-108, 118-110, 118-111 in the end. Froch is going to have to bring something special to beat this kid, should he get past Johnson. Bit of trivia for you; Andre Ward has not lost a fight since 1996... when he was 12 years old.
  16. I don't think it will be a great fight to be honest mate. Abraham has the power to potentially make things interesting but I think Ward will deal with him fairly comfortably and take a wide decision. Ward is not the best fighter to watch on the eye either.
  17. That fights worth watching in full, I'd say. Much better than the main event.
  18. The fans love me... 8) Lacy used to be considered as a top fighter before he fought Calzaghe. Joe then took him to school and the corpse of Roy Jones did much the same as well. Looking at his Boxrec it seems he lost a wide decision to a journeyman last time out so this bloke might stand a chance...
  19. A fighter with as many flaws as Amir, who relies on natural advantages as much as he does, will never top the P4P list.
  20. His team of cabbies won't have much to do in the near future as I can't see him coming back the UK for a while yet. He needs to get rid of them and get with the Hearns or Hayemaker, well even crawling back to Warren would be better than his current team.
  21. It seems that Khan's team has rejected Sky's offer of the fight being on Sky Sports 3 and are now looking for a PPV show on PrimeTime. Correct. £14.95 + £2.50 registration fee. As Eddie Hearn described it: "Commercial suicide".
  22. It seems that Khan's team has rejected Sky's offer of the fight being on Sky Sports 3 and are now looking for a PPV show on PrimeTime. This is why you don't put a taxi driver in control of your career. Complete amateurs. I like to put it down to Ishida being the Japanese reincarnation of Tommy Hearns, although it's a lot more likely he was struggling with the weight and doesn't have the sturdiest beard on him. I can't say I've ever rated him highly myself anyway. I was more into the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDG0Ez_zPys...
  23. Neither. It's due to the undercard falling apart really. We were originally meant to have: Matt Macklin vs Ghevor (WBA Middleweight eliminator) Anthony Crolla vs Gavin Rees (British Lightweight title) Scott Quigg vs Someone (WBA Super-Bronze Intercontintental Bantam thingy) then all 3 of those were pulled for various reasons. One being that Macklin is expected to get a shot at Felix Sturm in the summer for the proper WBA title. They were then replaced with: Tyson Fury vs Hasim Rahman Gary Buckland vs Someone Rendall Munroe's comeback Then Rahman last night pulled out of the Fury fight so Sky decided it wasn't worthy of PPV. Hopefully a sign of a new level of quality control on Sky. Khan won't be too happy though, it looks like Hatton's handling of the undercard has cost him about £1mil. Indeed. Guerrero-Katsidis is the one that I'm particularly looking forward to.
  24. Amir Khan's fight against Paul McCloskey on April 16 is now expected to be on normal Sky Sports.
