  1. Yeah they say the job is his! Deal done by the sounds.
  2. Nice how they gave all of 3 seconds mention of the defeats to Newcastle and Vienna. I'm not sure what game the club are playing at the moment with the spin they are putting on things. Last week it as a story on the official site from a Man City player, James Milner, saying how we were in good hands under Randy. Now we have a video highlights package of MacDonalds five games in charge which conveniently focuses on a win against a shit West Ham, a draw against Vienna and a fortunate win against Everton whilst hardly giving mention to one of the worst defeats I can remember and going out of Europe. Given the criteria the club set out Kev Mac shouldn't even have applied. The fact he has I find very worrying. Haha just watched that. That video makes out that nothing that bad has happenned at all in the past two weeks. "That was followed by defeat at Newcastle and against Vienna". The only mention of that horrible week of the 2 in charge. Takes up about a 1% of the video.
  3. Then MON left... Not blaming him entirely for the situation just saying, that certainly threw a spanner in the works. MON left and until he gives his reasons for leaving we can only speculate. But could he have left because he would not have the money to spend this summer?
  4. Who is to say we will sign players in January. People presumed we would strengthen this summer coming towards the end of last season.
  5. Surely we could have got Hleb on loan and possibly Eidor without a manager for a year loan. They are both on loan for a year at shite and Stoke. Instead we have left our squad very vulnerable.
  6. Martin said we needed to strengthen to just stand still in the summer. He would have clearly wanted to bring in some players. Who is to say if Martin was still here that we would have signed any more players? Martin must have left the club for a reason. However until we hear his story we will never know.
  7. General, Would you agree this summer has been a disaster? Look at it clubs such as Spurs, City, Everton have kept their best players + strengthened. Even the likes of Sunderland, Birmingham and Stoke have strengthend considerably. On the other hand we are 1 player down on last season, lost arguably our most instrumental player Milner, pocketed £16mllion + Shorey money. Our ex manager Martin talked about us needing to strengthen just to stand still, which most would agree. I won't bring up the reason why Martin left, but our complete non-activity is extremely disturbing from a fans perspective. Fans of other clubs are laughing at us right now too. Last season we were very forntunate not to have any serious injuries to our key players. So far we have beaten a West Ham side who has lost all its opening games, drawn and lost to a european club we should be beating, lost 6-0 to a championship promoted side and won 1-0 against Everton, who clearly were unfortunate as they dominated us at our home ground. It is extremely hard not to see a very difficult few months to the club.
  8. £323 million spents in this transfer window in the prem. Our total spending -£16m. Are we just hoping we get lucky this season?
  9. disagree city on paper yes, in reality hopefully too many chiefs and mancini sets them out ultra defensively, im hoping adebayor redeems himself and becomes a rotten apple that ruins them, player revolts ftw spurs have made 2 signings, a 3rd choice keeper and a brazilian kid who hasnt turned up yet, wigan game already shown the impact the CL can have as a distraction, hopefully they'll do a fiorentina everton have bought some youngsters but IMO still lack any firepower, beckford was dire vs us so hopefully moyes will stick with him too early to tell obviously but that goes both ways, im looking half full (we have beat 2 teams at home that we had really poor draws with last year) rather than half empty Yeah but Everton, Spurs and City have not lost any of their key players. Everton absolutely battered us Sunday. We were fortunate to come away with 3 points. Spurs look like they have signed Van Der Vaart too.
  10. I disagree, hopefully some of our young players will get a chance, Nathan, Bannan, Clark, Albrighton etc. I think (apart from Milner) we possibly have a better squad - because we may get someone who uses it. Albrighton yeah, but Bannan is not good enough for our first team in PL games. He was coming on as sub for Blackpool in the championship last season. Clark is not ready for the tough games in the prem imo, Newcastle showed that how he got bossed around. Baker looks a bit tougher than Clark, but is he prem quality yet? Now we have our senior defenders back I can't see Clark and Baker getting much of a look in. Bar Albrighton, I can't see many of the youth players making an impact on our overall performances & resultsthis season. Maybe Fonz if he gets some confidence back. City stronger, Spurs stronger, Everton stronger. None have lost important players. Milner was so instrumental for us last season. Fulham, Sunderland, Newcastle looking quite strong too. As things stands now I think we are falling behind a bit. Saying that though, things could go either way, by the January window if we are in the top 6 and we have money too spend it could be a positive. Possibly avoid our second half dip. Or we could have a shite first half and would have left it too late to make anything of this season. Crucial season for us too I think with regards to keeping hold of Young.
  11. What a **** shit transfer window! Teams in the league strengthened, we have weakened. At least last transfer window we sold one of our best players and bought in quite a few others to strengthen. Nothing of the sorts this year. Lets hope we hold our ground well until January.
  12. Whats with Moyes all of a sudden becoming fave, is there something I've missed? I seriously doubt he'd come here when he has got a very strong Everton team capable of beating anyone on their day.
  13. Great result under all that presure!
  14. Irelands just pulled off by the looks of it.
  15. General, Do you share Villa captains Stylian Petrovs view that we need to strengthen as "Other teams around us are doing it and we are getting left behind". The teams he specifically mentioned were Everton, Spurs and City. It is worrying that players seem to be talking about these kind of matters. Ant
  16. Beye was at fault for 2 of our goals. A shocking game for him. He is almost crying on his video interview on the OS.
  17. There fans are awesome. All still there half hour after game ends singing. Always a presense.
  18. I don't why the name Mark Hughes is even coming up, he has just joined Fulham, has money available to him to make transfer and has started very well with them. The football they have been playing is quite impressive from what I've seen so far of them.
  19. This Bob guy sounds like he'd do anything to have this job. He says he has had no contact, I wonder if any external manager has had any contact..
  20. Interview with Bob Bradley on SSN coming up after the break right now.
  21. This would be lunacy, Lambert never played in the premiership, has coached a few lower division teams, how does that qualify him any more than K Mac ? If we're looking for experience, even if only short term until Jol is gettable then I think the outstanding candidate is Sven. He did a decent job at Man City, and right now we need someone who can steady the ship, and can immediately bring in a striker. Sven has the track record, the reputation and the contacts, and he's available now. It's just a shame he seems to have loyalty issues, but maybe a 1 year contract would suit him and us for now. Never played in the premiership yeah, but has won stuff like the champions league as a player in the 90s and done very well with teams he has managed in England. Look at how fantastic he he turned Norwich around after they lost 7-1 at home to Colchester under their caretaker boss at the start of last season. They went on to win that league by a long way, even though Leeds were like 10 points clears at the top of the table. I'd sure take Lambo over an aging Sven, who seems to be going down hill as a manager. Hes been sacked by 2 clubs in 3 years, City and Mexico and did nothing to help the Ivory Coast really. Like everyone else I want Jol, but looking down the shortlist of possible names I see Lambo as a better option than the likes of Bob Bradley, Koeman, Southgate, etc. From the sounds, its seem we either can't afford Jol or he just doesn't want to leave Ajax at such a late time as their season is starting.
  22. Lambo is a tough character. Started off with Wycombe, got them to a league cup semi against Chelsea, if i remember they drew 1-1. Took over at Colchester, in his last game beat Norwich 7-1, then took over at Norwich and won leage 1 convincingly. Got off to a decent start in the championship. Mates a Norwich fan and he is constantly full of praise for the guy. Been managing for 5 years now.
