    Glenn Hoddle FFS, there's a reason he's been out of work for so long and that's not because of his comments during his time at England manager. If we're getting a manager it needs to be someone proven currently, or an top upcoming manager from the lower leagues. Not all these has beens or ex footballers who are trying to get a top job based on their playing ability such as Southgate and Shearer.

    Very impressive performance, only pre-season v half a Valencia side but nice to see. Lots of players staked a place for a start or a place at the club, if I was MON I would seriously consider starting Albrighton and NRC vs West Ham. The midfield complimented each other very well in the first half.

    I disagree, a big improvement from him. you must have low expectations of a 12million player then :shock: Played half a season so far, after a big injury, slowly getting better, give him a chance. Lot's of our players had slow starts to their Villa careers.

    We're actually playing some nice football on the ground, rather then hoofing it Let's hope this continues in the proper games, although Valencia are barely pressing meaning it's pretty easy for us.

    Great start by Albrighton. Also liked how Clark brought the ball down with his chest and weighted it through to Carew who committed a foul, was great play.

    Not a bad team. shame there's no Mata, Banega, Hernandez or Soldado... Aduriz is a quality striker though, and looking forward to see Feghouli and Costa.

    All injured, Davies too. Gutted to miss this but can't afford to go, loved the preseason games in past v Fiorentina and Inter. Roll on next week though 8) Hopefully they put out a decent team.

    I'm not sure, one good season and Remy would be off again, he'll surely use the likes of Stoke as a stepping stone. Stoke might be comfortable with that. In fact, they might have used it as a way of selling the club, once a player is in the Premier League he is in the shop window isnt he? Wigan have had great success with buying players who were never going to stay and selling them for a massive profit in recent seasons (Palacios, Valencia) and there is little doubt other clubs are thinking the same. Yeah I mentioned that in a previous post, meaning he is no Fuller replacement right now.

    Finally Atletico get a solid centre back, excellent signing 8) About time Hernanes moved to Europe too, been on the cards for years, but never materialised. Interesting to see where he'd fit in, I thought Pulis liked big man and little man meaning he'd have to drop Fuller. A lot of money for stoke, if it happens they better hope he performs so they can make a tidy profit in a years time.

    Yaya Toure is class, easily one of the best central midfielders in the world as he has everything, unsure about how Silva will do right now though.

    Kolarov showed what a mean set piece he takes, defended quite poorly though imo, before any City fan tries to bite my head off

    Watching City on ESPN, Kolarov and Barry aren't having the best games. Went on bluemoon and it's all Barry hate again, he looks off the pace and could easily lose his place right now, of course it's only pre-season though.
