Does the 3 years count if we send him on loan to another club?  What if the club is abroad in the Serbian league?

No, he has to be at the club. For the same reason, Iroegbunam will never be a Villa homegrown player, only association homegrown, as he had that season out on loan.

  2. Only way we’d want to sign ESR is a loan with option/obligation to buy, as an outright transfer would be too much for us right now with FFP. Arsenal would never sanction this kind of deal to a top 4 rival. Think this is just pure speculation.

Either way, excited to see the kid play.

My only frustration is the same as with Duran. We apparently have been tracking him and wanted him for a long time and we've waited until he's a month past the deadline to count as a future Homegrown player. With Archer, AJ - and likely KKH and Iroegbunam - to be sold, and our (correct) strategy in buying top XI talents from abroad, we don't have enough Homegrown talents to enter a full 25 Man Squad.

Had we sorted Duran and Kosta sooner, we maybe would've hit two birds with one stone, a player we like, for the first team squad and able to count as Homegrown in the future.

Still, always nice to see exciting young talent come to Villa.

This guy turned 18 last month, so he’ll be a homegrown player if he spends the next three seasons at the club.

So why change it from the round badge?  It’s the badge the Villa fans picked and even though it’s not the best quality, it’s still ours and now we have going a really good season it will be remembered with it.  Yes some Villa fans don’t like it but the majority do like it.

If it doesn’t matter to non-Villa fans then let us have our badge and not design a crap one for some corporate smuck in Outer Mongolia who we are trying to get to be our fan but couldn’t name one Villa player, couldn’t pin Villa Park on a map and who used to support Man Utd when they were good.

After all it’s just a badge!

Yes it’s our bloody badge, the fans badge!

I agree. I’d rather keep the round badge, too. My point was more about people’s comments about how this badge will change our standing in the global game. My point is that it won’t, even though it’s an eyesore.

  5. I’m not a fan of the crest, for the many reasons that everyone has stated in here.

However, I don’t think any other fan of any other club will give it a seconds thought. I don’t view West Ham any differently for their monstrosity of a crest, and I doubt many others do either. Unless you really bring yourself to think about it.

I would love a great Villa crest, but only for us fans, not what others think. And the vast majority of other fans will be indifferent to it.

I understand that branding is important, but I think we’re overplaying the severity of this.

Some sources say it’s north of 10m, although if one source is right then it’s less than that #stevoitk

Thanks. Shame it’ll be dwarfed by the others, but if Newcastle didn’t get their deal I’d have thought this was a great deal, so can’t complain too much.

Anyone who think Dumfries wouldn't be an upgrade on Cash, clearly hasn't seen Cash play right midfield.  Dumfries can at least dribble past players and cross the ball.

Dumfries can’t do that either. Trust me, I’ve watched practically all of his matches for Inter, he is not the answer.

  8. Anyone who thinks Dumfries would be a good signing clearly hasn’t watched him very much. He’d barely be an upgrade on Cash.

Rumours that Southampton and Middlesbrough are trying to take Azaz on loan for the remainder of the season.

  9. To be honest, if we can somehow find 3,000 seats (no idea how!) and also manage to massively improve the facilities in the Holte and Witton Lane, then it does take the sting off a bit. I would love for the North Stand project to be done, but it is bloody expensive. A quick win of 3,000 more seats will also give us an additional push and revenue next season.

However, it doesn’t detract from the fact that the North Stand does need demolishing and redoing. If they wanted to revise the plans to make it less lavish, but still with ensuring we go above 50,000, and drastically reduce the cost, then I’m not entirely against that.

  10. I’ve always wondered this, but daren’t ask. If Villa don’t technically own the stadium, how is it included in our turnover? Do we submit the ‘group’ financial statements, including NSWE Ltd and Aston Villa? Or what? And if we submit the group statements, how did it mean we were able to book the sale of Villa Park to help with FFP all those years ago, and still benefit from all the income?

Hope I’ve made sense with all those questions. 😅

So this means it affects our FFP etc in no way I assume?

    Good Business if so.

I know stadium expansions and new stadium's have really hamstring a few clubs in the past.

No stadium improvements/costs of any kind impact FFP.

Another £80m worth of shares have been invested into the NSWE UK Limited parent company, although unusually there is no accompanying notice of shares invested into the "Aston Villa Football Club" company (the subsidiary company that covers most of the club's assets and day to day running) that usually happens when money is put into the club.

Given the size of the figure and the fact it isn't going directly into the club's balance, I assume it's probably financing for the Villa Park expansion, which would be separate to Aston Villa's accounts given the stadium was sold to NSWE.

Great news, where have you seen this? Thanks.

There's a very good chance we will be attempting to get him in January.

Fingers crossed we pull him off! (Kenneth)

Where have you heard this from? I’m very happy to believe you, just want to know how much I should believe you. 😬
